  1. The key to it all [as I've found] is keeping the CDROOT and using this as the XP base for BTS. Of course, after you recreate it using XPCREATE, you'll have to slipstream the BTS packs again, so bear that in mind [Havent the time atm to fully lay this one out but I should be able to soon - work is busy at the moment hehe] To do this, try the following: 1. make a location on your HDD where you are going to install XPCREATE As an example: - CREATE: C:\UAXPCD\ - CREATE: C:\UAXPCD\XPC - CREATE: C:\UAXPCD\USER - Install the xpcreate package to C:\UAXPCD\XPC - CREATE the other folders listed at http://xpcreate.com/directories.htm inside C:\UAXPCD\XPC [note: i dont put the FILESCD folder in the xpcreate folder because I have multiple builds and could accidentally delete them if i needed to wipe the xpcreate folder so if you want to do the same as me, dont add the FILESCD folder at the end of the referenced webpage] - CREATE a xpcreate.ini file inside C:\UAXPCD\XPC with the information derieved from http://xpcreate.com/xpcreateini.htm - Make the following changes to the xpcreate.ini file: DELISOS=NO DELROOT=NO DOCD=NO DOISO=NO STARTSWITCH=/WAIT /MIN USERFILESCD=C:\UAXPCD\USER [dont think the order matters in the ini file but make sure you dont have duplicate entries there and if a entry doesnt exist, then create it] If you are going to be creating a Unattended CD then you will need to make the following folders: - CREATE a folder called: $OEM$ inside C:\UAXPCD\USER - CREATE a folder called: i386 inside C:\UAXPCD\USER [see the MSFN unattended guide [http://unattended.msfn.org/] for info on unattended stuff - you'll better understand what these are for] - Download and place the hotfixes to the correct folders within the xpcreate root e.g. C:\UAXPCD\XPC\SVC-HF1 ....SVC-EXE ...etc - you can find out what hotfixes goes where at http://xpcreate.com/current.htm but use http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=31886 for the update hotfix list - it should be obvious to where everything goes - if your source is a XP CD that already has SP2 then that's ideal - and you wont need the SPACKS folder and the SP2 download, but you may want to copy the XP CD to somewhere on your hard drive and use that as a source instead - stripping the folders other than i386 makes the resulting CD not as big... which is good. [note: if you do the above source, you'll then need to add the following to the xpcreate.ini file: XPSOURCE=C:\UAXPCD\XPSOURCE for example] - XPCREATE-wise, I think you are good to go. Run the xpcreate.cmd in the C:\UAXPCD\XPC folder and wait [bear in mind its recommended you turn off your A/V and stuff before doing it - just in case it corrupts stuff, and it should be a slightly quicker process this way] - Once finished, its time for the BTS Driverpack 2. Adding the BTS DriverPacks to your XPCREATE build. [will have to do this a bit later - meant to be doing work atm hehe - but it basically involves pointing BTS DP's question of where the XP source is, at the CDROOT that appears in the XPCREATE folder after running XPCREATE with the settings detailed above] 3. Follow the MSFN Unattended Guide's final bit [http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/15/ - remember to change the root dir location to where your XP build resides i.e. from C:\XPCD to C:\UAXPCD\XPC\CDROOT] to create the ISO and burn on to a CD EDIT: Grrrrrr - just lost the massive change to this post - stupid smilely thingy hehe - so you'll have to wait for the update sorry. Regards Nath

  14. Hi all. Probably over in the US its been out for a while, but over here in the UK, it was released yesterday [17th Feb, 2006]. All the C&C Games [minus one oldie I think] to date in one package - along with a DVD of bonus content and fan made stuff. Have a look at: http://www.ea.com/official/cc/firstdecade/us/index.jsp for more info. For those people in the UK, Play.com are selling it for £26.99 at the moment [mine's winging its way to me now - roll on Monday hehe] Enjoy people Nath
  15. You guys might want to visit the following link as there a strong comunity here: www.cannis.net Specifically, someone might be able to help ya with the probs by posting in the following board: http://www.cannis.net/forum/index.php?showforum=10 but search the whole forum first I'd say [you'll find me on there as the same handle too] Cheers Nath
  16. I've got a few invites available if ppl want to pm asking for one [sorry to do this the other way around] Cheers Ntah.
  17. I'd have thought that the following negates it Winnt.sif: [Unattended] DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore
  18. Try http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=31886 mate. You should be able to work out which goes where [pretty much all of them go in HF1 ] Regards Nath.
  19. Dont know I'm afraid. Have you managed to contact him because as far as I was aware, he wasnt "offering" the commercial version anymore, but i'm not 100% sure. Regards
  20. If using the source from a XP CD, make sure that it is clean and not scratched. It sometimes works better if you copy the files to the HDD somewhere and change the xpcreate.ini XP source accordingly. Cheers Nath
  21. Actually, you main problem is this: The updates/hotfixes need to be placed in the directories you have to create inside the XPCREATE root folder. The USERFILECD will just put whatever is in that folder onto the root of the CD when making the CDROOT - such as winnt.sif. You need to make the following list of directories in the xpcreate root folder, outlined @ http://xpcreate.com/directories.htm Also, see my post http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...=0entry466404 [but bear in mind it is primed for using driverpacks in that particular example]. Regards Nath
  22. http://xpcreate.com/xpcreateini.htm If you make sure that in your .ini, you have this there, xpcreate puts the relevent stuff into the winnt.sif file during the slipstream process I believe - at least it seemed to with me. This may also mean that you need to have a winnt.sif file created for this to work bear in mind. @johnson636: Some BIOS' do display SATA drives like this - it doesnt mean its a IDE drive [obvious really if you have physically plugged it into a SATA port hehe - its just the way they display it] What I did with the same model of motherboard [only the other day] which worked lovely - tho it wasnt the premium - is use Bâshrat the Sneaky's 'base' and 'SATA/SCSI' driverpacks. I've moved what I wrote here to a seperate thread - might be handy for everyone this way http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=68116 Regards Nath
  23. Hi all [gotta be quick - need lunch hehe] Placing the latest MP10Setup.exe in the SVC-WMP folder slipstreams fine but during the UA XP install, I get a prompt saying whether I want to continue to install it because System Restore is off [its off because windows hasnt finished installing I'd guess]. Any ideas how to get around this? Cheers Nath
  24. Any answer to this one? I'm trying this out right now to help with the install of a machine for a customer, and I really could appreciate a answer to this myself Quick step-by-step would be great Regards Nath P.S. Sorry to revive an old topic btw.
  25. Use a good PSU at all? If not, get one - it could be that. Also, what brand is your RAM? Good luck, Nath.
