  1. Hi guys Hope you don't think I'm cross-posting here but I noticed that I had some hotfixes that were different sizes to the ones on the current hotfixes list. Worked fine so far...at the reboot point, I turned it off as it was 3am hehe except for one window (Microsoft VM) that pops up saying that "This update will replace any previous version or update" (something along those lines - didn't jot it down at the time - naughty me) I wonder if its because of the MDAC hotfix as I recall (not at home now, at work so can't check til later) the MDAC hotfix has a different 6-digit ID as oposed to the one on your website. In fact, I couldn't find the one you have listed in my downloaded hotfies. (I downloaded them from windows update - catalog - all updates for XP SP1 ) Strange... Regards, N.
  2. Hi all I was just wondering if anyone's had any joy with integrating the SP2 for XP? Even tho its the RC, does it matter? If so, does it include all the hotfixes up to when it was released? Any thoughts? Regards, N.
  3. yep...long enough for me Most grateful ladies hehe Regards, N.
  4. Thanks for the quick reply GM (as always) Just tried again....no luck. Stopped at 93.7k Any alternative link? Need to make use it 2nite (if pos) :S I've only got a really old version (more than a month ago) ....ah.....no I don't - got rid of it when the new one 'started' downloading Regards, Nath
  5. Hi all Cannot download the xpcreate program (zip) from the website...or the IEPACK proggy. Its starts downloading but then cuts off after a little bit of downloading. XPCREATE stops d/l'ing at about 76k.... IEPACK stops about the same place... Is there a prob with the server GM? Regards, Nath
  6. I think most points to GM then Thanks for clearing that one up for me - didn't realise it was different for the CD install. One question though... Does that mean that even if used FILESCD\$OEM$\$1\BACKUP\DRIVERS\VT8237, it would still work or do I have to put them all in the same folder? Not nice to manage this is Regards, N.
  7. Hi all Mainly @ GM though... Regarding the $OEM$ folder, in order for windows setup to sucessfully use the $OEM$ folder, I read on some MS OEM article that the $OEM$ folder must reside within the i386 directory. Don't ask me where this is because I haven't got a clue, but in order for i.e. populating the windows installation with company information or OEM related items and when using the Setup Manager program of the XP OEM OPK, i'm sure it placed it within the i386 folder. Could this be why I couldn't get the VIA SATA drivers to be recognised/installed automatically when installing the customised XP CD I created with XPCREATE a few months back? (I still had to press F5 no matter how I tried changing things...even rewriting the driver inf to some degree didn't help) Any thoughts? Regards, N.
  8. @shareef59 Many thanks for the prompts but indeed obvious I never use spaces in my folder names for things such as XPCREATE for the obvious reasons we all know. But its always worth reminding folk...just in case Still wish I knew what was wrong. Oh well...I'll try and try again til I get it right @xracer Not sure whether installing the Nvidia unified driver this way will work...may produce very undesirable results Regards folks N.
  9. @Jono Thanks for the links. @all aha...I notice in the quoted log in my first post at the top that although it can't expand swflash.in_ it doesn't need to as they don't compress/pack the .inf file anymore it would seem. The rest shows that it still copies the files regardless i.e. Correct? @GM Regards, N.
  10. well...I'd have to join you on the "real dope" status hehe Can't get mine to work either....yet. I'm sure the almighty GM will help though *smiles very very hopefully* Nath.
  11. Strange.... you do have enough free space for the iso to be created right? Is the folder that the ISO is made from there with everything in it? (think its called FILESCD or CDFILES - something along those lines...haven't got XPCREATE on this PC I'm using yet) Mine doesn't get all the way to where yours does even hehe I have to keep removing hotfixes and other apps so it can progress further....weird stuff. Regards, N.
  12. Briefly looking....it looks like it finished and you iso to burn to a cd should be here: if the process did finish correctly Regards, N.
  13. yep...I know what the error msg means - its just the cab that was downloaded (their latest version from their website using Jono's downloader script) didn't contain that file...think it was already uncompresssed i.e. swflash.inf. Any suggestions on which one to use? where to get it from? Will it still work as the file is uncompressed/unpacked already? The process still carries on so....? Cheers GM, N.
  14. Hi all A quick note to mention that the swflash.cab download doesn't seem to work properly in the xpcreate process. I get this: Have they changed the package? Also had a few other things I've had to take out of a build...still trying to get it to finish the build...the log doesnt record any errors in most cases and I "think" I've got all the hotfixes in the right place - been using Jono's downloading script...not sure about a few parts of it but many thanks - definately helps Nice to see how much busier its got here....it's been soooo long since I posted/visited this (@GM ) Thanks, Nathan
