  1. BTW, it seems it has a little known bug... look at the comments from 2014 and you'll find a diff provided by the author for a version 1.0.3, which has never been released. In case you decide to pursue the compilation, you might as well include those changes...
  2. Thanks a lot, Noel! It does work, even if errors occur in building it!!! But... what about the already built .dll that comes with the sources? The author provides both x86 and x64 in Debug and Retail (= unchecked) flavors. I use the Retail x64 with 7 and have friends who use it with 8.1. Will that version, which is surely not built with VS2015, work OK, too?
  3. I think 77.00 is good enough. Almost all users I know of use 77.72 or higher. But maybe you could add a /f switch to force patching regardless of version.
  4. @NoelC: Unless you're already using it, or have tested it and can tell me whether it works or not, would you please be so kind as to test this addon on 10 x64: VersInfoEx? TIA.
  5. This addon should work: VersInfoEx
  6. Isn't it beautiful? MS shall make you safe from yourself!
  7. Ragnarok? Is this what you mean? Yes.
  8. Happy birthday, whatever420 !!!
  9. I suspect it may work on ME to which the Real DOS mods have been applied. I'd also ask loblo to chime in again, because he uses ME, too.
  10. Try adding: pushd C:\Install just below @echo off and then: popd just above exit. It should then work.
  11. Thanks a lot! I remember having tested it. But I cannot find my notes for that, and I'm not sure I had already started using the RAM Limitation Patch, when I did those tests... and now I know I was very near the limits of what can be done with the A7V600-X until starting to use the the RAM Limitation Patch, so that I cannot guarantee I'd have the same results today, in case I repeated those tests. But I've added them to my to-do list, anyway.
  12. Well, it all depends on how old one's nVidia card is: please do re-read this, this and (maybe) this. So the patch to 77.72 may, in fact, be useful.
  13. Why it is I get the impression that computer fell off the back of a truck?
  14. Since you've provided patches for almost all the preferred drivers I have a request: would you please provide it also for the 77.72? Here are the official links to it <ENU> or <International>, both are signed, but the signature in them has expired already, which is not a problem because the source is reliable...
  15. Go ahead. That should work.
  16. It's due to the 0-days that surfaced with The Hacking Team leak... However, this ability the FF team has of blocking things suddenly from their side is surely annoying, to say the least!
  17. Wow! Thank you very much!
  18. Whose quote is that? I do well imagine, but, with all due respect, do not forget to indicate the source, please.
  19. May I presume that, in the case of Windows 10, RTM == GA == RTW ?
  20. Source: Why Win 10 Upgrades Automatically On Win 7 And 8.x, by Gordon Kelly Does "there's no free lunch" ring any bells?
  21. What happened? FF blocs Flash... Solution: Flash 18.0.0.209 active-x and plugin (direct downloads) Enjoy!
  22. Paragon may offer a "PE building wizard"... give their pages a look or contact them in case their pages say nothing about it. Easy does it. Hurrying up, at this point, only leads to avoidable mistakes. Good luck!
  23. @Formfiller: Not much, really... but do read, say, this thread's current page from the top, and you should be up to date. @JorgeA: Well... One has reserved of one's own free will... one has also kept Windows 7/8 on automatic updates of one's own free will... IMHO, even though IANAL, I can see clearly it can be construed that the one above has already given informed-consent. Moreover, after a strong enough reaction from those conned (which may not happen), MS can "gracefully" offer free 7 Ultimate licences to all those wishing to downgrade, provided they fill a long and very obnoxious form. No 8.x, however, because one must either be serious at downgrading or not.
  24. The same code-base means they ought to be portable, all right! It's just like XP x64 and Server 2003. Rest assured that people'll start porting (if any mods are needed, at all) as soon as Vista goes EoS. The current Vista user-base is mostly true die-hards, who'll keep the fire burning as long as they can.
