  1. Have you tried installing over it, and then uninstalling?
  2. I receive a redirect to http://www.msfn.org/board/ when I try to view http://msfn.org/board/ Considering www is a subdomain, I don't know why you'd redirect to a subdomain since www is deprecated. Maybe it's the CommunitySEO doing it. If people want to learn more about why www is deprecated, they can learn more here.
  3. I had a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 that made a slightly audible high pitched whine. Annoyed me to no end so I returned it.
  4. It's possible that your motherboard doesn't support it. What does the Intel Chipset Utility tell you about your board?
  5. Delete your cookies and then log in again and reset it. This can happen if you have more than one MSFN page open, such as having multiple Firefox tabs opened to MSFN. You can also view this FAQ - most commonly asked questions thread.
  6. Any word on if this is going to RC or final soon?
  7. I don't believe you ever see the update reminder if you do the Windows Updates manually.
  8. [ Moved to nLite forum ]
  9. Boot into Safe Mode and run sfc /scannow
  10. Try it tain, you may be surprised.
  11. You can read all about it in WikiBooks and of course the official Tomato FAQ.
  12. No idea where you read that it's discontinued, but that's incorrect. tofu was discontinued but Tomato is going strong. Tomato will work perfectly with your router. http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato
  13. Have you tried Tomato firmware?

    Yahoo toolbar

It's pretty typical that toolbars can crash and mess up Windows since it hooks into Explorer. Just avoid toolbars altogether.
  15. What is the exact version of your WRT54G router?
  16. I do, which is why I suggested it.

    WoW

WoWWiki's Patch Mirror page has a lot of links to everything you need, and their wiki may include the install switches.
  18. Have you tried using the Network Wizard from XP? It has an option to create a disk so 9x/ME machines can see more of the network.
  19. What theme is that and where did you get it? Just wondering if perhaps it's a theme related issue.
  20. Glad to hear everything got fixed! Just a small tip, but if your Maxtor drive is noisy, you can try and use Hitachi's Feature Tool to enable Automatic Acoustic Management and a few other features. I was surprised when it worked on my server's Maxtor, but it went from being loud when it was seeking, to whisper silent. Usually a manual setting of 253-254 will work, but you can test it in real time to find the silent spot.
  21. Get Seatools from Seagate and use that. It'll work like a charm and it's amazing at fixing the drive.
  22. According to HDTune, who is your hard drive manufacturer? Unfortunately, Spinrite (like everything else at GRC, including Gibson himself) is utter garbage. Once we get your hard drive's manufacturer, we can get you the hard drive diagnostic utility from the manufacturer.
  23. Have you tried the cds in another (known working) computer?
  24. I was unaware of this. Last I had heard on the topic of Firefox was that 1.5 was the last to work on Windows 9x/ME. Though it has been a while since I had heard of it. It was around the time Firefox 1.5 was just being released so some of the sources that I had read that 9x/ME support with Firefox would end there most likely were speculating.
  25. After AutoPatcher was taken down, I came across a legal project that does everything I could need and is almost 100% automated. c't Projekte - Offline-Update. You get plenty of options to create an update application wizard for numerous Windows OS', and even include Windows Service Packs and Office products!
