I receive a redirect to http://www.msfn.org/board/ when I try to view http://msfn.org/board/ Considering www is a subdomain, I don't know why you'd redirect to a subdomain since www is deprecated. It's pretty typical that toolbars can crash and mess up Windows since it hooks into Explorer. Just avoid toolbars altogether.

Have you tried using the Network Wizard from XP? It has an option to create a disk so 9x/ME machines can see more of the network.

Glad to hear everything got fixed! Just a small tip, but if your Maxtor drive is noisy, you can try and use Hitachi's Feature Tool to enable Automatic Acoustic Management and a few other features. I was surprised when it worked on my server's Maxtor, but it went from being loud when it was seeking, to whisper silent. Usually a manual setting of 253-254 will work, but you can test it in real time to find the silent spot.

Get Seatools from Seagate and use that. It'll work like a charm and it's amazing at fixing the drive.

I was unaware of this. Last I had heard on the topic of Firefox was that 1.5 was the last to work on Windows 9x/ME. Though it has been a while since I had heard of it. It was around the time Firefox 1.5 was just being released so some of the sources that I had read that 9x/ME support with Firefox would end there most likely were speculating.
