  1. Another nice surprise from Google this year.. that's why we need competition and alternatives. Too bad that G is buying everything.. Thanks for the info.
  2. But..there's no Skip button! I could only find an useless option to avoid the capcha verification and phone is requested anyway.. Check my screens please
  3. Hello, I'm trying to make another Google mail and G+ accounts for work. I don't want to provide my phone number, is it still possible to skip the verification? p.s: has Google abandoned its "don't be evil" philosophy? After G+, Youtube, now this.. I'm starting to hate it.. > (but I'm currently forced to used it for both YouTube and work contacts)
  4. Oh, thanks bphlpt! My objective was to find a slim complete installer for all netframe releases and patches to use in RunOnceEx. Jainbe's release seems great, but I needed some review and information. Questions: 1- does this contain all the 3.5 and 4.0 patches too? dNET1.1SP1 + 3.5SP1 + 4.0 (Client Profile) 2- I've never used a single Nlite addon so far: are these executed at RunOnceEx too? I have a custom multi-page RunOnceEx, do you know if this could break it? Meanwhile, I'll check the other suggested releases too, thanks.
  5. Uh ok, thanks gunsmokingman, but I bumped my last post, not the first one! I needed some info about this:
  6. Do you know if these are a good slim-integrable-updated replacement for netframe3.5+4? (check jaynbe last posts) http://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/8061-release-net-framework-collection-2011101911203540/page-2
  7. Ok, sorry I'm just checking my messy list (I'll skip ADAM too) with yours. About RDC7 I just thought that maybe 1 hotfix (I think) for a new version was better than multiple 6.1 patches, but I guess it's not cumulative. Ok for Windows Installer (I'll install the 4.5, however, because it was required in some cases). Thanks
  8. That's true -X- ! It's a pain, however, when you encounter those few programs that need the new version. I've tried to search some kind of list in vain. Anyway, MS should really extend to other apps the cumulative hotfix solution that is using for IE. notes\questions about the main list at xdot.tk: - check KB2479943 because it points to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2479628 - isn't this for Xp too? ms11-095 , KB2626416 - about remote desktop, why did you include the 6.1 version instead of 7? - why no Windows Installer 4.5 (v3?)
  9. Woa, lots of addons, I'll check those too. I'll test the new Nlite way later, however, because it will take me forever to fix\tidy\update my WinXp+Apps image Thanks 5eraph That's a lot of work indeed -X- Why don't MS guys simply show their complete list on the official site? Is that so difficult as releasing a d**n new SP? p.s: do I really need both netframe3.5+fixes and netframe4.0+fixes? And both vcredist2008 and vcredist2010? They're a lot (and big) to install via runonceex..
  10. Ok, I just wanted to check. Thanks for the additional useful list.
  11. Set the quality (from vlc forum): Tools, Preferences, show All, menu Input/Codecs, section Track settings, Preferred video resolution, select quality Save and restart Vlc Perfect!
  12. I've found new info Youtube quality parameters: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=YouTube&oldid=509196207#Quality_and_codecs EDIT: not needed anymore, just some info Open links in programs (Vlc) from Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/open-with EDIT: I suggest adding the vlc commandline parameter --one-instance Now I must understand how\if I can set the quality.
  13. Uh.. is KB939683 really high priority? Shortcuts and WMP11?
  14. Thank you 5eraph, I'll also check those lists! (Office2003 list anyone?) Do you know, however, if those ms programs (WMP11,Netframework and maybe Directx9c) can be slipstreamed with nlite too? In the past I've only integrated Windows generic KB fixes and silently installed the rest via runonceex (maybe to avoid having to redo the image after new versions, but by now I won't get new ones for the old Xp). I have a question about some very old WinXp KB in my list. Are these still needed or have been replaced? - 887606,889320,917021 --> these could have already been included in SP3, but I remember having some problem without integrating them. Do you know anything about these? - 922120 --> this could not be integrated with nlite - User Profile Hive Cleanup Service --> can this be slipstreamed? Wmp fixes: - 954156,979332, --> are wmenc9 patches needed with or without wmp11?
  15. OMG that page is pure gold -X- !! Is that in a pinned thread? I really need to clean my own list from obsolete\unneeded old entries. But.. how did you check the replaced patches?? So far, I've used Technet with a boring manual procedure lol P.s: do other similar pages exist for MS products like WMP11, Office 2003 (even if I often use the open source alternatives) and NetFramework 3.5 + 4?
  16. Thanks for the suggestions guys. It's both Firefox and its plugincontainer, due to the Flash Player. That menu option would be perfect, I'll check if it exists for Firefox+Vlc too! Well, waiting for temporary videos download is quite tedious (also, for <720p Youtube uses a slower transfer). Anyway, for that I've always used the handy DownloadHelper Firefox extension, which I can suggest to you too! (also works with many sites)
  17. Sigh, I hope that Adobe will fix its player someday or that Firefox will improve html5+memory soon. About Vlc, anyway, I've found a cool plugin to import Youtube playlists: http://addons.videolan.org/content/show.php/+Youtube+playlist?content=149909 I lose all YT site features, but at least videos now play seamlessly (Alas, it doesn't seem to work with "watch later" playlist and maybe it's a bit memory\cpu intensive) EDIT: check DevilinPixy comment to modify the script replacing "list=" to "?list="
  18. Meanwhile, I've found that you can open Youtube links directly in VLC and select quality by adding a parameter at the end (example for 480p): &fmt=44 Does anyone know at least if there is a Firefox extension that somewhat speeds up this painful procedure? (ex: adding a menu, automatic plugin, etc)
  19. Specs: WinXP Sp3, old single-core AthlonXp 2800+, 1500Gb ram, geforceFx 5200, 8Mbit connection, Firefox 19.0.2 (newer versions seem bad for memory) I've tested this even without other running programs, scanned for virus\malware, cleaned with CCleaner, checked running tasks\services and such. When I had Flash Player 10.3 I could see 480p videos on Youtube without any problem (720p, instead, is difficult for the old card). After 11.X in this year, the issues started: at early versions I got slowdowns\skips at 480p, then 360p, now with 11.8 even at 240p??? (but videos play fine in Vlc) I fed up, downloaded and downgraded back to 10.3 and.. even that skips at 360p.. WTF is happening, why can't I see the same content on the same computer with the same settings anymore?? Is Adobe messing badly with Flash Player? Does anyone have this problem with an old pc and Youtube? P.S: changing computer is an obvious solution, but I can't afford that right now.
  20. Well, now it's back to 180 euros on Amazon. Wow, that's a variable price indeed. I'd like to wait for a good promotion, though. My idea was: master --> 1 new 4tb backup --> 1 owned 2tb + 1 new 2tb or owned small old drives (sum<1.7tb) EDIT: 3tb currently costs only 10-20euros more than a new 2tb! I'll choose that and maybe in the future upgrade to a possible 5tb for a single master Thanks for the help Jaclaz. (anzi, ciao, perchè ho visto solo ora che sei italiano anche tu! XD)
  21. Uh lol, that's my scenario, because I have a WindowsXp SP2 cd. I recall some weird behaviour too, so I always avoided restarting nLite and preferred a full single session. I agree with the "Make iso" button issue, I often missed that the first times (also, only "Mkisoft ISO engine" worked for me). In the linked FAQ they say: How to install DriverPacks with nLite? It does not work well. - Please don't. Please use nLite and make all of your changes first. Then run DriverPacks BASE to add your drivers. [...]You can leave nLite open at the create ISO page while you run DriverPacks BASE. I guess it's just some incompatibility. The best ideal scenario would be if you could find with them any nice compatible solution. Is it possible?
  22. The first times that has really been a nightmare, also because I didn't expect such behaviour (after the first image I was like: "my nLite settings..wtf!?"). Luckly, now I don't need to change much configs. A nLite auto-merge feature or a global setting or, at least, some warning.. would be nice. Yeah, I currently do that multiple times while processing, but it would be good if you could continue with an already made iso (with untouchable options grayed out) or at least see exactly what has been changed (see below). What about my DriverPacks question, instead? I totally agree with this!! That would be useful also when you need to add manual tweaks.
  23. Well, ok then (you're still considering the AF emulation, right?). I've seen that twice, but I REALLY couldn't find useful info on that difficult 3 page thread about multiboot Vista+Xp and Vista's wrong partitions! (my questions, then, were about Xp and AF drivers) Also, in a post you say: "WD Align seems like another tool to test [...] the WD Quick Formatter [...] is necessary in order to optimize the performance of the drive." Sorry, I'm totally confused.. WD My Book 4TB (oh s**t, the price has now jumped up from 180 to 250 euros! )
