  1. Well, it's easy. You (fake to) install a Warez release to it [..] you (claim to) discover that on the PC there is non-genuine Windows installUmm.. fake to install? Also: - communicating to MS that I'm running some warez version seems a bit weird - can they refuse the request? Or only offer Win10? - could I still use the key with an official (but updated) ISO?
  2. In any case you want to look for "GGK" or "Get Genuine Kit" and/or product "6PC-00022". Hey jaclaz, but the info says: "GGK is never to be used for new PCs. It can be used only to legalize Windows software on an existing PC.". I'm confused.. O_o (I was going to buy Win7 for a new pc and possibly use it with an updated ISO)
  3. BUMP Doesn't anyone have a Skylake here? Can someone check the BIOS?
  4. The horror! Btw, I'm wondering if I could still disable them in the BIOS or be safe with an old Win7.
  5. Hello, does anyone know anything sure about these technologies? 1- Trusted Computing It seemed scary since its origin, but any real news about it have been scarce. The few sites about it vanished in smoke (*tinfoil hat*), but a video survived: Lafkon TC is currently supported in various mobos and cpus, usually non K (eg: i5-6600 vs i5-6600K) 2- Software Guard Extensions I've read that this SGE will be in every Skylake (except early models). Some concerns about it: SGX, the good, the bad and the downright ugly -- I'm quite worried as these technologies seem potentially bad. Could they allow hidden DRM, undetectable spyware or even enable software\file deletion by companies\governments? (but let's not talk about Win10.. sigh)
  6. Hey, has anyone tried the Asrock or Asus mobos solutions? (the first one in theory should work for every brand; no idea about the other). My plan would be to: 1- get a legit key; 2- download a Win7 SP1 U iso (with SHA-1 check); 3- apply patch (drives?) to it; 4- write ISO to usb; 5- install Win7 from usb and with usb peripherals.
  7. Ah.. well, it seems legit enough for me, then. It's already incredible that I'm willing to pay 120€ for it lol. That italian store reported a GGK and it's known, so I should be fine, hopefully. Thanks Jaclaz.
  8. 1- ok lol. 2- with the old nLite I've also tweaked Windows a lot. 3- I'm looking for Win7 Pro SP1 X64 (ideally U). Could these be legit? - ita store - uk store
  9. Thanks submix8c Basically I have to register to Wincert lol. About ntLite, I wonder if I'll need the "full component removal" and "auto-fill options". The dev should have asked for 20$ max :| Anyway, do you also know where I could buy a legit Win7 key for a new pc? MS only offers Win10!
  10. Hello, I'd like to create an unattended Win7 installation with the latest KB patches and some custom settings&tweaks (expecially the Usb3.0 patcher). I'm quite confused, however, about the current available programs. - 7Customizer and RT Se7en Lite seem dead. - the new nLite (still beta) will costs 45$ even for home users!? - maybe there's a Win Toolkit 2 program (download?) with a limited (how?) free version. - other alternatives? - Windows Updates Downloader has stopped updating its lists in 2015\03. - I could start from it anyway, but I don't know if it's good for Win7 Pro and if it excludes any bad update (eg: Win10, telemetry) - other alternatives? Can you help me, please?
  11. Ah, automagic FTW! I'll check E2B first. Thank you Jaclaz.
  12. Whenever I need to use a bootable image (ie: WinXP-7-8 Repair Disks, Linux Live, Clonezilla, password tools, etc..), I always have to format an UsbStick or burn a DVD (for older systems). Is there a bootable program that could allow saving them all on a single device and then selecting the required image\application from a simple menu?
  13. Yes/No [..] the secondary GPT tables will be m00t when you use "simple" or RAW imaging tools [..] These might need to be recreated in the appropriate location, as an example using gdisk [..] But.. if the system cannot find the duplicate GTP, what does it do? Do you mean that it doesn't simply recreate it from the first copy automatically?
  14. Well, I'm still looking for info, because I cannot basically test that restore and I already have a full disk image of my system. Anyway ok, until I'll able to do it, I'll save also the MBR\GPT.
  15. Ok, the answer to the last problem is here in the official forums. Unfortunately that place seems managed only by one person, so every reply currently takes minimum 7 days.
  16. Well... With all due respect, I'm really sorry, but if you cannot trust yourself enough to acquire (= create) a true, full, byte-by-byte clone of your own *offline* main machine HDD, while it's in good working order, then you'll be fully useless to help yourself if ever things do go wrong !!! No no, I've already created a full backup disk image of my hdd. I simply don't want to try to restore it now on a working system (if it ain't broke don't fix it!). My doubt is about (correcly) saving only the smaller recovery partitions in other cases (I don't even have one on my pc). I must first understand if Clonezilla copies that MBR\GPT info automatically or if it needs the programs suggested by jaclaz. Maybe I could try some partial test with normal partitions in a virtual machine (even if it would be a pain, as my pc is very old and slow).
  17. I'm.. confused now. Just tell me! XD Ah.. that was a loooong wall of text for: "I don't know if Clonezilla works, you'll have to try it yourself" Anyway, I cannot do such test for now, unless I want to mess with my own system and risk disasters.
  18. Oh hello Jaclaz! We always meet in these forums XD Uh.. oops, I've probably misused the term "legacy". I meant the default MS programs, not the obsolete ones Ah, useful info, thanks. However, are you saying that dd/dsfo/dsfi are more reliable than a tool like Clonezilla? Should I just use those instead? I also wonder if CZ already saves the MBR\GPT automatically (I recall some sort of message). I'll have to check it.
  19. Hi, this is a generic question not limited to a single case, as I often have to deal with other people's computers. What's the best method to backup an OEM OS to small images for future reinstallation? (even to a different hdd\ssd) Possibly without user data, because that can be huge and it's better saved\updated elsewere anyway. What about saving the recovery partitions? (as they contain smaller installers for everything) I've checked the default programs, but: - Win7 can only save the entire disk and so it needs an additional big external drive to store the images (not a cheap solution). - Win8.x can backup the smaller recovery partition, but doesn't create images and thus needs a dedicated 16 GB USB device (basically always an additional purchase, even with available hdd or sticks). - (no idea about Mac or Linux for now) So I've tried Clonezilla and it seems good, but: - I haven't tested a restore yet. - cloning the entire disk to an image has the same problem of the huge size and the external drive requirement, so.. nope. - cloning only the recovery partitions seems the best option, but I'm not sure if it will work! What about the original partition table? For example, I've seen a Win8 laptop with 7 default partitions .. how could I ever restore those to a new empty hard drive? (unless I only need 1) Do you have any suggestion or advice?
  20. Oh no, you finally discovered me! I should have never said "ciao" and "Italy"! Hihi Wow, you wrote an entire essay there.. quite interesting, though. I'll check the other suggestions too, thanks to all.
  21. Cool suggestions, thanks. Unfortunately, Big eframe is only in USA and I live in Italy. The "any monitor + media box" seems the best option. The cheap product has too low features for my needs, what do you think about the "Asus OPlay Mini"? (also Plus) (the reported sorting bug should have been fixed with the new firmware)
  22. Oh, hi Jacklaz (ciao) I'd need it with a size of 32 \ 40 inches, are there photoframes that big?
  23. Hello, do you know if there are monitors (not TV, due to taxes in my country) capable of playing videos directly from an usb stick or an SD card, without a pc? I'd like to create a playlist to loop in my office. Thanks!
  24. Hey, today I managed to do it! I though I had already tried this, but well, now it worked (on another pc, connected by cable and not from wireless). I simply had to sign out (log out) from G+ and then use "create new account" (instead of the previous "add account"). I'm still puzzled, but happy
  25. Did they change something in February maybe? I didn't list any "mobile phone" before. I just clicked "add account" and followed the procedure until I got the phone verification mandatory request.
