it best to install booting from cd, this will do a fresh install which means removing everything currently installed on your OS partition. 370MB is a nice size normally mine is around 650-700

just download the registry file on vlite.net that fixes it

the problem has been fixed and will be released on the new version on vLite on tomorrow(monday), it says this information on vlite homepage. If you integrate the hotfix it works fine on x86 and x64. Just wait until tomorrow

i normally integrate IE7 seperatly, then do another nLite with the rest of the addons, make sure you integrate the addons in order of date (oldest at top) so there is less chance of errors.

so its not windows SAT, is there a setuperr.log on vista might be useful to check that? did you check your error logs in event viewer, to see if that says y the games wont work

So in theory to play modern games or software you will need Windows SAT aka "Windows Experience Index" to be able to install/use so if it cant find the rating system anywhere on your computer it might cause the application to show an error / crash

it must be a component then, did you try keeping Secondary Logon Multimedia Class Scheduler Game Explorer some modern games also check what results you got on Windows SAT to see if it can run or not... (im just looking this info up because i remember seeing it one time) did it work on previous version of vLite if so then it prob be a component on the latest vlite (help find the problem)

ye i was thinking game explorer, it might just be the game cant support russian, try it on a friends computer to see if it works, if it does then make sure you have the latest drivers and have the latest directx install, even though directx 10 is installed, i still install DirectX9 (sometimes i had too)

halo 2 requires secondary logon (not that your wanting to install it) but other games might require it aswell, try keeping secondary logon and Multimedia Class Scheduler also try checking event log for any problems

ah, that makes sense then. i normally do a rebuild anyway but its for my friend n he has the an x64 ultimate and x86 home premium at home so thought it would be easier to have it in one disk, its not biggy though, ill just do a rebuild

hi i want to make a vista dvd with Home Premium x86 and Vista Ultimate x64. normally it comes up with a box asking if i want to delete an image i.e the ones i dont use. but its not appearing :/ in the options menu the "Skip Image delete list" is unticked so i dont know whats going on and i don't click rebuild either

im guessing you removed the network monitoring tools and/or "dialup n vpn" or whatever its called on nlite? preset please

i must say good work sancho , my program im building will be complete soon so that will it me, basically it lists everything on the disk, says what files are needed for them and emulates what would happen if that was removed without using VMWare which is useful and fixes any broken inf file and so fourth and points straight to the problem, thats y i asked u about databases nuhi for this particular program and manage to get it working after a couple of hours (the database thing). had to make a program for university course, taken ages but almost done EDIT: it doesn't remove anything though dont want or need it too... nuhi have you tested this yet the Dial n VPN component, i must admit i dont norrmally remove it and just tried to get the smallest xp disk i can n theres nothing in the setuperr.log either

if its more than one computer then i set up one computer perfectly and use acronis true image and works great and its fast, if ur using volume licensing then im guessing you dont have to put a serial code in when you do a normal everyday install, if so make sure the serialcode part on the unattended page is empty, in other words just dont put ur serial code in with nlite and leave it blank try that. about the please insert disk problem, its happened to me b4, just gonna try recreate the problem so i can tell u how to fix it if you open the winnt.sif file with notepad in the I386 folder can you list everything under [Data] and [unattended] section please, when it happened to me the problem was in there, dont worry these part of the winnt.sif file displays no personal data Mines is [Data] AutomaticUpdates="Yes" Autopartition=0 MsDosInitiated=0 UnattendedInstall="Yes" [unattended] UnattendMode=DefaultHide UnattendSwitch="No" OemPreinstall="Yes" OemSkipEula="Yes" FileSystem=* WaitForReboot="No" NoWaitAfterTextMode=1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode=1 DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore Hibernation="No" that works fine from cd, compare them with yours if there the same

well if you go into the winnt.sif file with notepad in your I386 folder (or AMD64 if u have x64) before you make an iso and delete the "regionalsettings" and timezone, try that. Delete... I only put the ??? because yours will not be the same as mine and just delete the line select defualt languange during install delete the following LanguageGroup=? SystemLocale="????" UserLocale="????" UserLocale_DefaultUser="????" if you want to select keyboard layout during install delete InputLocale="????" InputLocale_DefaultUser="?????" if you want to select timezone during install remove the line TimeZone=???

i normally do both, like ill have the name of the computer owner and within that folder i have audo, graphics, lan, etc... and yes it should work

sorted the problem now, just reinstalled my xp, you should add a compatibility option to keep the filters for vLite. But im getting another problem which ive posted in the nLite section with windows firewall
