  2. good idea, if you need me to test it for you or whatever just give me a call lol anyways im going to install my comp now (with the working ISO obviously lol) wish me luck
  3. Your welcome, and thanks for your help too i only get Event Type: Error Event Source: DCOM Event Category: None Event ID: 10016 Date: 15/07/2007 Time: 11:19:48 User: NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE Computer: LIAMS Description: The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {555F3418-D99E-4E51-800A-6E89CFD8B1D7} to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. and 3 warning messages (Winmgnt), but its fine
  4. i kept NETLOGON and removed Network DDE, and nothing was in the setuperr.log and wwindows installer works fine i might check event viewer just be sure
  5. Confirmed it is Netlogon If netlogon is removed then get one message in the setuperr.log If netlogon is removed and network DDE is kept then nothing in the logs Great Team Work! everything sorted, everything works. I recommened to stop people from removing Netlogon by removing it from the list. thx for your help (preset below works! )
  6. When Netlogon is removed, in the setuperr.log there is an entry... Error: Setup had problems registering the following OLE control DLL: C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\msctf.dll Contact your system administrator, who may provide assistance in diagnosing this problem. *** NOTE: it allows me to do regsvr32 msctf.dll and registered correctly So its maybe netlogon, cos windows installer doesn't work when its removed UPDATE: it still doesnt work if Network DDE is kept but there is less errors in the setuperr.log but you certainly have a problem with both "Network DDE" AND "Net Logon" Below is the preset with Network DDE and Netlogon kept (not removed) which worked fine, which is evidence that it is these two components
  7. UPDATE: Windows installer works when i keep the following IPSEC Policy Agent Net Logon Network DDE Connection Manager if one of them is removed the Windows Installer doesn't work UPDATE2: IPSEC Policy Agent & Connection Manager - Works then these two removed and nothing in the setuperr.log. its either Net Logon or Network DDE which is stopping Windows Installer UPDATE3: I can comfim that it is either Network DDE or Netlogon, doing further testing from research i think the answer is Network DDE, Network DDE is needed for Windows Installer Isnt network DDE and netlogon used for IIS? might be causing the IIS issue
  8. ye there is, i use it all the time. so you just want to bring the arrow back? (on all the icons ot just the right click)
  9. I Can confirm that when setting IIS is set to install on the unattended page the installation goes very very wrong and there is lots in the setuperr.log So it is the auto install of IIS, good work Nuhi!
  10. hang on might have found a fix for the windows installer, one sec EDIT: Nope Grrrrrrr lol
  11. it works after IIS has been added after instllation but still getting Event Type: Error Event Source: DCOM Event Category: None Event ID: 10016 Date: 15/07/2007 Time: 00:22:46 User: NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE Computer: LIAMS Description: The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {555F3418-D99E-4E51-800A-6E89CFD8B1D7} to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. and... Event Type: Error Event Source: Userenv Event Category: None Event ID: 1007 Date: 15/07/2007 Time: 00:22:49 User: LIAMS\Liam Computer: LIAMS Description: Windows cannot determine the associated site for this computer. 12. Nuhi it worked with the Dont install IIS but windows installer didnt, just adding IIS using add/remove programs then gonna reinstall XP with Install IIS on unattended page setuperr.log was empty too
  13. Right last option, use nlite like normal but DO NOT use the driver pack.. use the drivers from the link below. These are you Hard Drive drivers RAID, IDE, SATA, etc... http://files-upload.com/371289/Drivers.zip.html wait for the timer and click the drivers link under the timer remember dont use your update pack but you can add your LAN, etc.. like before but no driverpack When integrating you will get a popup, Highlight everything in the list and make sure txt is selected (not PNP) click ok, keep doing this until it finishes (should only appear once or twice, if it asks you about sata_ide folder click yes.
  14. no problem there, is the driverpack just for your RAID drivers
  15. One time the WMI did work (I only selected the components i knew that was safe) but the Windows Installer didnt n couldnt get another working copy cos of the WMI thing, had like 9 attempts using FRESH sources and no luck EDIT: cuurently install XP with the No ISS option on unattended page
  16. there must be a way to reinstall it i tried at cmd msiexec /unregister then msiexec /regserver but no luck
  17. right now thats done, please add driver packs aswell as ur tweaks and send me the file again (need to compare to see if a command is missing) if thats ok EDIT: is the driverpack just for your raid drivers?
  18. that was an accident, sorry didnt know i posted it twice, was meant to press the edit button
  19. lol i meant just add the driver packs on their own and then send me that file. n why not download the raid drivers from the motherboard website? RAID and IDE are both on there
  20. I cant find the download for Windows Installer 3.1 or any for x64, ill try the stuff 2nite
  21. next time you create a nlite disk with just the driver pack please send me the NLITE.IN_ file in the I386 folder, when you add tweaks it might accidently remove a command which refers to the driver pack... maybe
  22. try downloading K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, that has lots of codecs in it, Midi too (When it gets to a screen where you select different codecs - lots of tick boxes, at top select 'Lots of Stuff' and click next)
  23. lol thats for the WMI, but even when the WMI was working the Windows Installer didnt BTW ive left a message on another Post "It just doesn't do the job', about limiting the burn speed to 16-20x so less bootable disk problems
  24. Can you please upload C:\Windows\Setuperr.log please, that tells you everything that went wrong during the installation Try not remove any drivers the the 'Drivers' section on the 'Components' Page, because when you add them it might remove the new ones you just added and then might say it cant find any of them, the driver pack might use it own inf file and nlite might not update it. does that make sense?
  25. it might be creating the user part of it
