easy...I copied my XP on to a flash Stick and then loaded up the Boot Disk (It has a Driver for the memory stick) and then Loaded it with the file winnt.exe Didn't think You could do that did u.....

I can't wait to install the Power Pack it with my Dial Up ...anyway does it pose a problem if I already intalled some of these softwares...such as Revolutions Lite the kernel Update and such?

Some people(not all) don't seem to understand that all the useless Windows Updates for 98 are not important. These Updates or security fixes are NOT meant to speed up your PC any way and can cause some files and programs to stop working.I got Most of the security fixes and It is sapping memeory out of PC.The security fixes doesn't mean any virus WILL attack you,its just a precaution.I didn't download n more that 5 Updates form Microsoft because I don't need most of them.Use Norton or a good firewall to block any intrusions.

With all the new power toys I installed for my OS I think its appropriate to update the skin as well.besides As long as there is a way to do it,why not try it?

This is another beat down by Microsoft on already negelcted MS Windwos 98/95/ME/2000 Users.Everyone,think of this as a last goodbye gift(The critical Update).I say its all Bull Horns.they're scrwin' Windows 98 users into Windows XP.and WHo cares.As long as there is loving and caring persons like the ppl who created Unofficial Service Pack we don't need microsoft and thier updates B)

I have the 98lite Pro Version.And it IS SICK!!!You can totaly use it on 95 or 98(se).But a not of caution--whatever you do do not unintall Internet Explorer.It will totaly screw up your systems explorer folders and stuff.

yeah the thing is softwares that Mask the shell uses a lot of Memory and I only have 385MB Ram so I'm running low as it is!!! .I wish there was someone who could Hack teh shell .dll and make a totlay new system of Skin.I guess i can only dream :'(

I love Windows 98 Se and to see it being turned to grabage OS sickens me.This is all micrososft's Fault.WHY THE HECK won't they fix all bugs and vulnurbility.This cuts down on all the patches you need to Download.Windows Xp is the buggiest System I ever seen.and I hate the fact you have to log online and Download all that crap just to make it run straight.

I don't,its not a big problem for me to find out whats running on my PC.in fact its safer to always make sure time to time that all active(hidden) startup programs are the ones you know.

The Above is a good advice but an even better one is to stop the Program from starting. Got to RUN then type MSCONIFG, the go to >>Startup. And then Look at the list fo startup programs.If you see a program that u never installed before ,then follow the path where the program is and delete it.If not then uncheck the box to that program and it won't start again.

I have tuned my Windows98se with every kind of modding tool.i have all the updates and unofficial SP's and some patches i found on google.After finishing I made it to be as close as to XP as possible.The Only ting left was to Make It Look modern.I Like my 98 Like it is but I'm tired of my pals laughing at my systems nasty look.(Too bad they don't know its faster than thier windows XP)heh...

That Depends.If you Want to Optimize your System speed then cut down on opening files and Disable Startup Items you do not need like p2p software that start on restart... Go to Run>type:msconfig>then go to startup tab and then disable unimportant programs,NOTE**-If your unsure how to do it then don't touch anything on it

It is the same theme you get with the Revolutions Pack4..The Theme is very buggy and can sometimes crash your system(It crashed Mine)....I recommend Windows Blinds for Win98se. Then Again the Crystal theme Looks V-Cool but it looks NOTHING Like Windows XP(This one is to Crystall Looking)

How DARE You Badmouth my OS...For your info I do Have an Xp but I don't like to use it because its a little too much for my Video Cards.If you don't ahve anything good to say or a solution to this topic then don't say anything again!!!!

I would be more than happy to support Windows 98 SE,you see my PC is good but my Video Card is only good for 800x600 Resolution so Windows XP is out.But I like Windows 98 Se,its fast and clean.I will do what ever I can to help Windows 9x Systems live on to the next 10 years tops.As long as there are some kind of patches and fixes,windows 98 is very powerfull
