  1. copy Lock Worked well, and I do need to learn more DOS language.
  2. I was tweaking my copy of explorer.exe and I just got it how I wanted it.But I don't know how to inplant the modified explorer.exe into the old one.I know you could do it in DOS but I don't know any programing language nor DOS.Is there an alternative program or method that could do it?
  3. When I was poking around my c:/windows/system files I found so many weird programs like ----------------- Dr.Watson Jdbgmgr which is a Debugger Mkcompat Internat(Language Selector) Program Manager Qfecheck(Shows All Windows Updates) Setdebug(Another Debug Prog.) Telnet Winipcfg(IP Configuration) Wscript(Windows Scripting Host) Winrep(Windows Report Tool, Similar to Windows XP's Error Feedback) Winpopup(Networked Chat App. for LAN PC's) Upwizun(Update Wizard) Thats all I could Find For now, but does anyone know why would Microsoft make all these hidden programs tucked nealty in the systems folder?
  4. Just like the above stated just copy the Win98 Folder.or Just the .cab files
  5. Heck I say switch to firefox,I barley use IE and Would Galdly uninstall it if it wern't for the intigration with Windows Explorer.Firefox Poses a great threat to the IE Legacy and if it werne't for Bill Gates and his Auto-Install of IE with every OS, firefox would be #1.Its my best choice for a browser for windows 98, and with the continued support for firefox 2, it will be around wit Windows98 Users for a while
  6. As Much as I love Windows 98 I give it about 3-4 Years Before 100% of Developers and Manufacutrers Stop Supporing Windows 98.There will be compatability issues by then and many people regretiably would have switched to Windows XP Sp1 at least.I forsee a Grim Future for Windows 98 And I don't like it.Unless Microsoft lets Windows 98 Be open source there is no way Windows 98 can live more than 2 Years 5 Years tops.Even With gr8 folks like Gabe and Tihiy Upgrading the OS there is still to many Obsolete Coding that prevents it from going into a new facelift
  7. I have a Rendition Stealth II 2200 3D Video Card(I need to Update my Signature) and I set mine to 800x600.Its the optimum setting for Windows 98 and its easier on my Old Monitor that flickers when I change to a Highier Resolution.
  8. I was going through Sourceforge.net when I came upon a Project called "Jackhammer" that attempts to replace the Windows 98 Kernel with a Cmopletely Original One and Thus make Windows 98 Open Source...Is it real
  9. You have not litsen to what i wrote.I have found a Driver for my Dimond Multimedia Rendition ss100 but it doesn't work properly.I need a GENERIC DRIVER.Like on WINDOWS XP
  10. I just intalled a new Video Card and I can't seem to find the right driver for it.And yes I searched Driverguide.Isn't there any way to backup all the Native Drivers of Windows XP and Intall em' on Windows 98 SE? If I intalled my new driver on a Windows XP system, the OS would recognize it right away.Catch my Drift?
  11. But you gotta admit it looks modern and cool...spekaing of which..have you seen the new Vista(Longhorn) screenshots..my goodness it is a very cool lookin' shell.Windows XP has a memeory consuming shell yes but windows XP is designed for newer faster PC's.I have a pretty good PC a able to run Windows XP,all i need is a better Video Card.
  12. Hello to All, latley I have noticed many blog sites talk about a possible intallation of a Windows 98/95 and Linux Systems on Playstation Portable(PSP).I think It would be great if someone could confirm it...or if someone already know about please tell me how to do it...ty
  13. I know this may sound stupid for expert coders and programers and such...but why not merge it with Unofficial Service Pack(fututre Releases...if any). This way...people don't have to download many files tp update their Windows...Instead Merge it into a nice package and compress it in .rar format the .exe.
  14. Micrososft is stubborn.once they make these kind of decisions they can't flip-flop,not becasue they don't want to...becasue they will look stupid if they change thier mind.Thats why I'm switching to Windows 2k in a few days or weeks if my Download Bandwith holds up
  15. ....Are you saying we're supposed reach deep into our pcoket book and give microsoft good, hard erned money so they can make 3rd rate software that crashes on first use?The Only reason I use Windows 98se is not becasue its good on my PC...Windows XP has problems...deep Deep issues that can only be adressed by downloading 200-300MB of fixes they "forgot to update".And you're blaming ppl like us for asking microsoft too much by telling them to make their products more stable?Well if so,here is a message to Microsoft and ppl like YOU!...If you really wana force people into Windows XP then I suggest you clean up your act(and OS)
