  1. You are running the New Moon 28 SSE release. I assume your CPU does not have the SSE2 instruction set and is a very old one like mine although my Pentium 4 CPU is equipped with the SSE2 instruction set. The website https://www.auf1.tv can be accessed with New Moon 28 (palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20250222-d849524bd-uxp-e43876ec84-xpmod.7z) but on old, weak computers, it's more of a pain than a pleasure. You should avoid this website, at least on old devices. The page is overloaded with media, loads terribly slowly and uses around 200 MB of RAM. The CPU load is high due to all animations and transitions. I can block them via CSS, and the CPU load immediately becomes normal. But then the news ticker is no longer running, of course. I think such websites should be accessed on modern devices, and the reason for your issue is most probably the lack of the SSE2 instruction set in your CPU which might be necessary to correctly load this website.

  2. That's why I usually avoid to modify the hosts file. The more configuration files are involved in establishing network connections, the more difficult to find the causer of issues. On my computer, only the firewall is responsible for the network connections. And Windows 10 Firewall Control Plus XP has been doing a great job without any problems. All configurations can be done with it. Enabling or disabling specific, self-created rules is very easy. No need to do it via the hosts file.

  3. https://www.auf1.tv 404 [GET] "/_nuxt/builds/meta/2aa240db-878f-4a11-b529-66f04d78c3db.json": 404 Not Found --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello modnar and AstroSkipper, Thank you very much for your feed back ! Extensive testing reveals that the probable culprit is the hosts file (merged file). Why only https://www.auf1.tv gave that strange error message (other websites no problems in that respect) remains a mystery.

  4. Ok, last "OT" (stop beating the dead horse already, I am aware it is "OT") [lol, nobody actually started beating the dead horse, I can PREDICT the future and I can SEE it on the horizon, lol]. Turns out the issue IS indeed with ungoogled-chromium and has been fixed in v133 with an opt-in resolution planned for v134+. It's actually a WEBGL issue in ungoogled coupled with H264ify. Despite being "OT", I leave this all here for readers to acquire some knowledge.

  5. I have not tested if this is only an Ungoogled Chromium issue. I suppose that is very possible. I don't really have any "need" for non-ungoogled here at home and I am "forced" to use "real" Chrome at work (YouTube works at work). edit - per https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium/issues/3204 , this does seem to be an Ungoogled issue (which only really confirms YouTube/Google "telemetry" and only browsers that "allow" such telemetry can use YouTube).

  7. Webp is known to contain viruses, Chrome was patched, and was this codec patched? Nevertheless, not sure if it's a good idea to include it as a system wide codec. In details, below: https://msfn.org/board/topic/185031-webp-virus-fears-nightmares-suggestions-or-exodus-from-the-internet/

  8. Looks more like a collection of custom use made mods, it's by no means a SP. And I think @Dave-H might be willing to consider marking it as unofficial. To avoid a possible confusion.

  9. Honestly, I think it's over and over exaggerated. I still use a videocard which will soon be about your age (Ttitan X). And I remember there was a million of articles saying nVidia does something to the cards to plan the "obsolescence". Yet it works. I think it even still gets new drivers! Not for Vista, but 10 or 11, alas.

  10. Hi, Leah, I'm D.Draker, (feel free to call me D.D.) and I'm a (already forgot how old young), traditional (boring, right?) military man from France, who is a huge fan of Windows Vista. Just bear in mind, girls at 23 and over become less popular than guys, so might wanna revert your decision, just saying. Versatile people is what we need. Welcome to the forum!

  11. On the Mozilla Support website https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/root-certificate-expiration, you can find this announcement: In terms of Window 7 computers, this means that users of Firefox 115 ESR should update their browser at least to version 115.13 ESR to fix certificate problems. As far as I know, the nssckbi.dll file inside the Firefox programme folder defines the default set of trusted root certificates. The more recent this nssckbi.dll file, the more recent Firefox's default root certificates.

  12. Hello Tihiy In the new Windows 11 Insider version 27802.1000, the latest version of StartAllBack no longer works properly. the explorer view seems to be ok, but the taskbar with submenu's and the settings are not working or disabled. I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall, but unfortunately it didn't work. Could you please investigate and fix this?

  13. ATTENTION. Cloudflare security check stopped working in New Moon and Serpent in January. I checked in Chrome - there it's working. Example: https://www.y2mate.com/youtube/oZaDX7cgJEo Press download green button and see how Cloudflare check looping endlessly. Roytam1, please, can you fix it? Serpent even crashed during that check. Edit: Ok. i noticed that New Moon crashes too, so i searched "Cloudflare" on Pale Moon forum and this is what i find: Pale Moon people are well aware of that issues and situation so far not resolved Cloudflare Verification Loop issues Cloudflare has decided to crash Pale Moon It's hard to believe in such levels of incompetence, probably Google and Cloudflare trying to destroy alternative browsers. At this point it safely to say that no company did not made more damage to internet as Google. They really go from "don't be evil" to "just be evil as f***". This monopolies can be defeated only by Superstates like USA and EU. But considering what happening last month in USA i must say it look disappointing.

  14. You ought to set your "programmer from 1990s" legend straight before posting, otherwise it looks funny, I'd even say boringly funny, the ends between what you claim and the reality don't meet. Proof: "Rust programming language first appeared only on May 15, 2015"! https://foundation.rust-lang.org/

  15. Yay! You finally fixed your attachments problems! Congrats! But this image doesn't prove anything at all, it doesn't prove that FF is "user friendly" and "secure". Any first grader can just block the elements of javascript on that page to get this result.

  16. Did FF change? No, so it's still relevant, but you're very welcome to make a new one.

  17. Can the admin user access that file path? Have you tried storing that file somewhere else to confirm? Mine is https://github.com/blabley/AutoUnattend/blob/master/indexGB_EFI - autounattend.xml, I remember there is a character limit but can't remember how many. This is why i've used the short codes.

  18. You can use a translation service like DeepL. The OP does not want to transfer files from Android to PC via internet services but offline. No, it's the correct forum. The OP wants to transfer files to a PC with Windows XP installed.

  20. First, no reason to be rude! And now: Unofficial update servers! No trust! Compatibility? Unknown. I would only trust ESET to make virus definitions. A third person might inject bad code. And, making definition updates compatible is a complex process needing the knowledge of ESET and testing without any end. Therefore, no real chance to do that! My comment about uninstalling NOD32 is very helpful because ESET NOD32 9 (and beow) has reached End-Of-Life (EOL), and there are definitely problems to get rid of this crap. And, that means for me doing that: Therefore, both your comment and your considerations unfortunately lead to nothing. Anyway, you can consider whatever you want, of course. Have a nice day!

  21. Hello @FantasyAcquiesce! If you want to transfer files from a PC to an Android device or vice versa, I can recommend the way via FTP using your WLAN. You have to configure an FTP server on your Android device by using an app like Solid Explorer or Total Commander + its TotalCmd-WLAN-Transfer plugin and an FTP client on your PC as for example WinSCP whose latest version (I tested the portable paf version) is actually still compatible with Windows XP. WinSCP is open source and simply great. Furthermore, both devices have to be in the same WIFI network, of course. This kind of file transfer is absolutely great and fast. I never had connection problems anymore. No more instable connections and fiddling with cables! And, the configuration of such a connection is very simple to perform. Kind regards, AstroSkipper
