Did you set up the proxy properly following the instructions? How did you start the proxy? Which version of Windows XP is installed in your computer? What is the state of updates? No detailed information, no help is possible! And I wrote a lot before, but no statements from you what I suggested: OnePiece Windows XP Post-SP3 UpdatePack, Linux Q4OS (Trinity Desktop) and so on. Truth be told, not much fun helping you!2 points

Sorry, but this is no sentence and does not make any sense. A string of one or four words has nothing to do with detailed information.2 points

If I wanted to use such old hardware with only 320MB of RAM, I would install a lightweight version of Linux such as Q4OS (Trinity Desktop). You can find it here: https://q4os.org/ In my opinion Windows XP can be installed on such hardware, and simple things can be done there, but it won't be fun if you want to use such a system basically. Modern software have much higher RAM consumption than older one. For surfing the WWW for example you need modern browsers and your size of RAM will let the system extremely slowing down or freezing completely. And an OS like Windows ME is unfortunately no solution either. I have such a Win ME partition too, but surfing the modern web doesn't make any fun or any sense at all.2 points

Please be a bit more detailed! I guess you got this error code while trying to access MU web site. If so, you should follow these instructions completely and carefully: You must not skip any step.2 points

Thanks for your info! But where did I say that last verion is REV3d? I wrote: You probably misread it or missed it. I provided a download link for version REV3d because there is no link for version REV3e. @heinoganda hadn't provided any download links generally. You had to send him a PM to get his latest release. And he doesn't provide download links anymore. So there is only a download link for version REV3d. As I already mentioned in my article I did my job carefully: But no problem, that can happen to anybody. The Romans said: "Errare humanum est."2 points

Hello Start Me Up, Thank you for your feedback ! If you ***REALLY*** want your video playback looked into, it's kind of ON YOU to do some LEGWORK in NARROWING IT DOWN. *Shoot the messenger* all you want. But that really is the reality of the situation. We (you!) need to tell roytam "playback WORKS in this month-day-year release, but it is BROKEN one week later with the month-day+7-year release".1 point

I did it for testing (manually applying 3dyd's changes to the source of official PyInstaller 6.17.0) and converting into a wheel (built with 32bit toolchain from here on Windows 10). pyinstaller-6.17.0-py3-none-any.whl (for XP) pyinst-6.17.0_yt-dlp_x86_XP.7z1 point

Totally understandable; sincere condolences for the loss of life of so many of your compatriots ...1 point

I'd say, it comes as no surprise after a quarter of century. What about Fujitsu-Siemens, Fujitsu, or just Siemens? You don't consider them? It'd be a perfect choice, as of they have lots of thin clients.1 point

I was under the impression it does';t, unless you explicitly specify. You want to tell it does it silently? Well, then I'm against this. Kind of anti-feature if it does it without consent.1 point

I don't know what's your problem. Forget about IE 7 and install IE 8! If installation of IE 8 doesn't work, then your system is faulty and a fresh new installation is necessary. Internet Explorer is crap generally but if we need it then, please the latest version. And there is basically no problem with IE 8 in Windows XP.1 point

Thanks for clarifying! Good to know!1 point

@Dave-H I am analyzing the automatic updates applet problem we both have. For me it doesn't matter actually I don't use automatic updates but you know I hate errors in my system. Using HTTPSProxy switched on and setting automatic updates to "Notify but don't automatically download or install them" could you trigger automatic updates by executing command wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow under two different conditions? First condition is to execute command proxycfg -u and second condition is to execute command proxycfg -d. Then I would like to ask you to upload a copy of your Windows Update log. PS: And don't be afraid! None of these commands will harm your system.1 point

@ExtremeGrief Without WSUS proxy does automatic updates notification work in your system too?1 point

I tried it (the .dll) and I didn't experience any crashes , thanks again , win32 . Though, I agree that personal experiences may vary (different hardware) . I'm running quite ancient hardware (by the modern day standards). One PC is with some old Quad Xeon (circa 2009-2010) and another with one of the first Haswells. I already told you and the others : Kaspersky crashes are it's "normal" behaviour , you can search and read it yourself , so we can't be sure whether the dll is faulty or not . As for me , I trust win32 and his experience and I see the dll is working fine. All I'm trying to say , test the DLL with NORMAL software , not that KGB "something" . I'm not sure with what to respond to your topic, since I already suggested mallwarebytes or the brain.exe. About chrome , for me it's just running without any mods with this kernel , there are a lot of folks here that use it too. If firefox works for you , chrome should work too. But you need 64 bit version . Make sure you are running chrome x64.1 point

1 - I shan't discuss anything about "performance" of any KGB related software since I've clearly made my point, besides we don't know who's behind those "labs". 2 - Please discuss "antivirus" programmes and make their comparison in the appropriate topic. (not here, obviously) 2 - Newest programmes that work with Vista's ex-kernel by @win32 . Just to name a few : Chromium , Opera , Centbrowser , Chrome , Firefox and it's forks , Chromium Ungoogled , I've also read about TOR ( though I haven't tried it myself, but it should work too, since it's based on Firefox) , newest FFMPEG , 4K Stogram , Grids (quite popular desktop versions of instagram) , Aiseesoft Screen Recorder , Minecraft , Scrap Mechanic , Cemu , plenty of modern games that use Mono engine, quite a few of modern DX11 titles that use Unity. Again , I really don't understand what you were trying to say . It sounds like you're not satisfied with this jaw-breaking progress regarding the ex-kernel. And why did you even mention Win7 ? This topic is about Vista , for true Vista lovers. And no, our ship "is not sinking" . Are you trying to devalue win32's work ? It's just fabulous ! He's just fabulous ! We all should be grateful ! Perhaps you (yourself) can help him with the work ?1 point

I see . Gaming without fans ramping up is comfortable , I agree. TITAN X doesn't have 16x and 32x CSAA , as far as I know. How do you live with that ? I still have the original TITAN from 2013 and it has 32x AA, pretty nice for gaming.1 point

Thank you for the info ! Pehaps you know where one can compare the hashes ? The original and this one.1 point
