  1. PNG is exclusively a raster format. The compression for continuous tone data like photographs is worse. It would only make sense to use PNG if for some reason the limit was not enforced for it. Sometimes web servers apply more compression to JPEG and worsen its quality, which can be bypassed with PNG. You might be thinking of Macromedia Fireworks, which I think created PNG files with a private extension for its data. But it was only understood by this software.

  2. personally I don't have intention to support yet another over-complicated CPU-hungry new image format, unless upstream want to do this. BTW there is a github user tried to port thunderbird53 to moebius: https://github.com/roytam1/basilisk55/issues/60

  3. This off-topic chatter bores me and has no place here. Just to make one thing clear. You dragged the typo topic into my thread. So you are the originator of this off-topic debate here. Don't be surprised if someone replies to this! So if you have nothing to contribute to the topic of Mypal 68 under Windows XP and just want to gossip about trivialities as you very often do, you've come to the wrong place and should rather visit the non-technical subforum.

  4. Seeing how Supermium follows all modern trends, I'd rather assume it will be similar to the standard version 132, as we saw before. Take all those "experiments" features, for example. And I too want the classic design they dumped in favour of the new.

  5. I AGREE! But I can show you SEVERAL places here at MSFN where typos are USED AGAINST YOU and tracked to the letter to even make false accusations against one's own CAREER TASKS. There are equally SEVERAL places here at MSFN where non-US folks will "demand" (and get their way) if somebody posts a title with "favor" instead of "favour"! MSFN is TOXIC at times, but no place is ever going to be "perfect".

  6. Ever heard of a typo? Happens even to the best. If you had read my posts carefully, you would have noticed that I had written it correctly in the post before: The part to which you refer came in the next post: If you're not interested in the content of my posts, and you're just looking for spelling mistakes, have fun with it! You will certainly find one or two more.

  7. I'm glad to hear that. For me, the PMT - Process Mode Toggler is ideal for testing and comparing different things in both process modes with only two clicks in the same profile. At the moment, I have reverted to the last officially compatible version 1.46. But I will test the 1.56 version again. Thanks for the hint!

  8. Your expression of interest has been recognised. So, you are the second one who has clearly stated his interest in my custom button. The PMT - Process Mode Toggler has not yet been published by me or made publicly accessible in any other way. The generally expressed interest in legacy custom buttons has so far been almost imperceptible in this thread as well as in my other thread for UXP browsers. The same applies to the technical interest in UC.JS scripts and CSS stylesheets. That doesn't motivate me much. Since @feodor2 is really interested in his browser Mypal 68 and was kind enough to restore compatibility with the legacy Custom Buttons extension, I sent him as the very first one my PMT custom button as a small gift. It made sense to me, especially considering all the effort he put into developing this browser. As far as I'm concerned, I can put it in mathematical or statistical terms. There is a clear, linear correlation between the statistical features of user interest and willingness of a developer to publish with a correlation coefficient r of r > 0.95.

  9. Isn't that already available in Supermium via: chrome://flags/#rectangular-tabs ? ... Though the end result leaves much to be desired :

  10. It seems it's the new low limit, like I already assumed above. The moderators' team do their best, but it's probably done to reduce the storage costs on the server.

  11. I'm patiently waiting to see what those are also. I'm hoping big time that one of them is to return the "normal blue" title bar instead of the stupid baby-blue/sky-blue or whatever current Chrome uses. I only just downloaded the most-recent Supermium and I haven't ran it yet. I still remain very optimistic towards Supermium.

  12. It'd be much more productive to write on github. The creator doesn't visit us anymore, he won't see your wishes.

  13. See, I think that's taking it too far. As an American, you should be able to write in American English, and north of the border, I'll use the Queen's English. We understand each other. No differently, if I was referring to an American place, I would respect that location name, such as "World Trade Center", not "... Centre". In my mind, a Canadian/UK spelling would be incorrect.

  14. I do tend to speed-read, I make no apology. This is not my full-time job. What I "follow" is for waiting for the Toggle Process Mode button to be made public. And yes, maybe I missed it so this is me asking directly.

  15. <OT> OT and forgive the interruption - is "forfgive" a word? Here, in Belgium, it's either "forgive" , "forgave" or "forgiven". Just curious because I have never ever seen "forfgive". I couldn't find anything. Of course, also acknowledging that the forum is no longer allowed to use US English, but still allowed to make typos. </OT>

  16. Lossless, obviously, requires higher file size. We are talking the mere 3kb size for a profile pic.

  17. In short, thanks, but no. Long story. My original image from the phone was about 5mb, which the forum wouldn't accept. I resized it to 807px and 49kb (see the details). And even then, it still gimped the quality down to 3kb!

  18. If by "adapter" you are referring to @Dave-H's USB enclosure I think it has only the USB controller. Since he intends to connect the GPT disk via eSata connection the 4K translation typical of some USB boxes is not required. That ASM1061 card provides an additional IDE controller to the system and four sata ports (although only two ports seem to operate simultaneously) that work well with Paragon GPT Loader. In this way, @Dave-H can obtain the same result as when he has connected directly the 3TB GPT disk to the sata port on the motherboard, hopefully Below an image of my 4TB GPT disk connected to the sata port of the same card ordered by @Dave-H. In the Device Manager the card is listed under "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller". Its Hardware ID is "VEN_1B21" and "DEV_0611" that identify an Asmedia device. The system is configured in AHCI mode and the sata/ahci driver is the IRST v11.2.0.1006 installed for the Intel sata controller. The GPT HDD is almost full and I have checked all the files on it without finding any problems: This is an image of the drive as detected by Disk Genius: ~~~~~ Could you please specify the chipsets and possibly also the firmware versions of your Logilink and JMicron USB adapters? I think it is useful to know which chipset and firmware combo can work in XP for GPT and MBR disks recognition and which can't. Thanks!

  20. Wouldn't png look much worse than jpg at just 50kb?

  21. Haven't started. Not going to start. The way I see it, you have offered NO PROOF that you've modified CatsXP, it's all heresay and I'm not playing. So I'm essentially done in this topic. It's gone full circle and just keeps talking in circles.

  24. For my personal use, I have additionally modified the Nuchi-Sporif script loading method to load all UC.JS script files from a chrome subfolder called "Scripts". This gives the user a better structured chrome folder. If someone is interested how that can be done, just ask here. This modification has not been implemented in my new download package Mypal 68 CB requirements - Updated 12.01.2025.7z to avoid confusion.

  25. Script loader package for Mypal 68 - Update notification My download package MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z has been updated. I edited different files to tidy up the package and remove unnecessary code. Here is a short changelog: In the config-prefs.js file, comments added and the pref general.config.sandbox_enabled deactivated. In the config.js file, unnecessary code removed. In the userChrome.css file, information added how to import CSS stylesheets. In the userChrome.js file, the error "ReferenceError: XPCOMUtils is not defined" fixed in two different ways: either unnecessary code completely removed, or the corrected file userChrome.js.FixedJustForFunByAstroSkipper can be used (the extension .FixedJustForFunByAstroSkipper has then to be removed, of course ). Instructions in the Instructions - Please read me first!.txt file updated. The download link of my package Mypal 68 CB requirements - Updated 12.01.2025.7z can be found as always in the first post of this thread. Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper

  26. I'm thinking moving to the reduced Win10, with the advice from @NotHereToPlayGames, but from what I see here, I'd have to give up my IP to the developer to start using this software? And not using VPN anymore? Thanks. The developer is silent on this very touchy matter, did he answer you via PM, maybe? Again, thanks.

  27. 132 is in the final release for some time, Ublock origin doesn't work in it. Last I tried worked was 128 or so. But when I install to Win10, ublock starts working. What's the solution? Anyone? Thanks.
