I don't know what happened, I dunno whose fault it is, but the picture quality simply went down. LAV filters could be the reason.2 points

--ignore-certificate-errors will bypass all of the cert errors for you on XP. But it's a security risk.2 points

I think people already mentioned a good set of flags in this topic that worked best for them, each user would have its own. It depends whether you use google services or not like gmail, etc.2 points

After running 13.7b for a while, it does seem to perform BETTER than 14.4b. If I used this browser DAILY (which I confess that I do not), I would stick with 13.7b. Some folks will "always" claim to use the "most recent". Or one version back if the most-recent introduces bugs. There is no "one size fits all" answer. For me, I just opted to stick with 13.7b. It seems to behave much better for RAM for the way that I use a web browser (I'm not interested in "lull the tabs" and that sort of stuff, "to each their own"). I still prefer Serpent 52 (and yes, it is used DAILY), but a version from 7-31-2023 over Mypal 68, but I still keep my eye on Mypal 68 progress.1 point

Hi @feodor2! Thanks for your new release and all your efforts to improve Mypal 68! Unfortunately, I have to report that my beloved Custom Buttons extension is no longer working due to the changes you made in Mypal 68.14.5b. Furthermore, some UC.JS scripts have stopped working. Same applies to some CSS stylesheets. All of them have been working fine in Mypal 68.14.4b but in your new release, they do not work anymore. Although the Custom Buttons extension can be installed, the extension options is missing and when installing some custom buttons, they do not appear. Neither they are listed under the entry Custom Buttons in the Add-ons Manager nor their tool bar icons are shown in the Customize window. The CB menu in the toolbar to create buttons is also missing. The Browser Console shows errors when reading the boostrap.js file of this extension. Try it yourself as you already have the Custom Buttons extension! At the moment, I will stay with Mypal 68.14.4b. Too much is not working in Mypal 68.14.5b.1 point

Currently CatsXP is fully supported. on W7+ (full feature updates, not only fixes) Also the Palemoon browser is supported to W7+ (older Firefox engine but maintained on W7+) Waterfox supports Windows 7 with Intel Core 2 or AMD FX. It is a 64-bit only web browser: (Firefox based) Firefox 115 ESR (only fixes) Hopping come fix for newest Firefox also. But there are currently at least 4 browsers still supported in some way on W7+. Firefox 115 ESR (only fixes) CatsXP Browser (Chromium engine) (full updates) Pale Moon (Old but maintained Firefox engine) (full feature updates, i think?) Waterfox W7+ with Intel Core 2 or AMD FX. It is a 64-bit only web browser: (Firefox based) In my opinion CatsXP is the best choice now.1 point

The last months, I have deepened my knowledge about JavaScript and CSS. In the case of the Process Mode Toggler custom button, one might think that it only toggles the browser.tabs.remote.autostart preference. However, this is not the case. Besides toggling this preference, my custom button displays the current process mode via toolbar icon and tooltip. It doesn't matter whether the button was used for toggling the process mode or not. It always recognises the correct mode. The process mode change is linked to a restart of the browser which is of course necessary for running the browser in the new mode. Additionally, it also adjusts two other prefs that are related to the respective process mode: dom.ipc.processCount and dom.ipc.processCount.webLargeAllocation. Their values can be preset for the respective process mode in the first lines of the button code. So, this custom button is very special and rather unique. In any case, one thing is clear. Webextensions are much more restricted and not allowed to control such features what in contrast UC.JS scripts and legacy custom buttons can easily do, though.1 point

Which two buttons? The clip is about one button, my recently created custom button called Process Mode Toggler. You won't find it anywhere. However, I have recently posted some new custom buttons for UXP browsers and compatibles in my thread "Extensions and custom buttons for UXP browsers - Corrections, modifications, adjustments, and special recommendations". Given the lack of response and interest, I doubt that the Custom Buttons extension is used very much in general by our members or readers for whatever reasons which I do not really have to understand, though. And with a probability bordering on certainty even much less in Mypal 68 if at all. TBH, I am beginning to think I am the only one using the legacy Custom Buttons extension in Mypal 68. Anyway! I developed the Process Mode Toggler custom button actually for personal use in Mypal 68 to test UC.JS scripts, CSS stylesheets, extensions and legacy custom buttons conveniently and quickly in multiprocess mode as well in single-process mode. Especially to test my self-created ones. If there was genuine interest in my custom buttons and it was communicated in this way, then things would be different. But I can't see that so far. The clip I have posted should simply give you an impression of what I do with custom buttons and what can be done at all. No more, no less.1 point

User allowed settings suck, they can be reset, ignored, etc. Policies also suck. they're for goofs, you're better off with CMD flags applied at the start, This is what I call "hardening".1 point

I think it is well known by now that I am a fan of custom buttons. The last months, I created a couple of them for the UXP browsers as well for Mypal 68. Here is one of my latest creations:1 point

Then, try for example the Auto Tab Discard extension! However, not the most recent version but the older one 0.5.0. When it comes to uc.js scripts or extensions for use in Mypal 68, it is very often better to use older versions (according to the era) due to compatibility issues. Here is the download link: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/3889015/auto_tab_discard-0.5.0.xpi Even this version shows some warnings in the Browser Console as there are features in the extension's manifest which Mypal 68 doesn't support. But this version is nevertheless fully working in Mypal 68.1 point

After more in-depth investigations, tests and analyses , I have come to the conclusion that the issue, described in my previous posts, is primarily a timing problem in multiprocess mode and can be easily fixed by inserting a delay in the right position.1 point

Regarding sound, only DD5.1, but nor DDP5.1 is available. DTS on XP is limited to the core component (just the simple, compressed DTS at the max. bitrate of 1509), DTS_HD MA and un-compressed DTS_HD lossless are not available.1 point

The dawn of the BD era would be MPEG2, not VC-1, and I've seen a lot of BD disks, too. The trend to use AVC started when they were re-releasing the old films over and over again, "remastered" bloated with fake grain, etc. XP era hardware would have a hard time playing those bloated AVC streams at 50mbps,1 point

I said quite sure, not 100% certain. It's easy to guess because nVidia is famous for making artificial restrictions for older OS in general, a goof example was the artificial rate refresh limit introduced for XP. Sorry, I don't have GTX960/50. I have a GTXTitan (Jan. 2013). And some time ago found a working 780 Ti in the local dumpster (E-waste). Both only support 8 bit H265, not 10 bit.1 point

Ryzen 7 5800X. Thank you! Finally somebody sad that. I recently was walking in park and thinking to myself that all this "new" formats are creating picture inferior to well tuned h.264. P.S. I can add from myself that h.265 also create some kind of murkiness in videos and AV1 is insanely slow at encoding in this format.1 point

Lentoid h265 decoder, I tried it in the past on a very old Quad (LGA775, made 15 years ago or more) XP era, I don't exactly remember the model, it was something like Q8400, or so. Very poor result, miserable, unwatchable. Skipping frames.1 point

Nvidia drivers are a closed source software, kept in secret. For XP one would need to write new portions of code and insert into them. Not possible at this stage, unless you have a mate working at nVidia to leak the drivers.1 point

Where do you get this from? DXVA2 is Vista native, the first release of Vista came out with DX10.0, but hardware acceleration works. DX11 was added to Vista a bit later, in the form of an optional patch. Power DVD minimum requirements for hardware acceleration is Vista SP1.1 point

Unfortunately, copying and pasting the file search.json.mozlz4 is not a solution due to the search engines that are delivered with Mypal 68. These search engines are then displayed without their icons. The perfect method to transfer custom search engines from one profile to another one is using the extension mozlz4-edit by copying the code of the desired, custom search engine entries from the file search.json.mozlz4 of the source profile and pasting it into the file search.json.mozlz4 of the target profile. Of course, the syntax and the structure of the search.json.mozlz4 file must be observed. I did it, and it works perfectly. Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

mozlz4-edit The extension mozlz4-edit lets you edit and/or add custom search engines to Mypal 68 without using an internet connection. Actually, mozlz4-edit is a simple mozlz4 file editor. You can open, edit and save mozlz4 files. Tested version: 4.1.2 How to 1. Find the search.json.mozlz4 file inside of your Mypal 68 profile folder. 2. Backup the search.json.mozlz4 file first. 2. Open the search.json.mozlz4 file with the mozlz4-edit extension. 3. Edit and/or add a custom search engine entry. 4. Save the modified search.json.mozlz4 file in your Mypal 68 profile folder. 5. Restart Mypal 68. Here is a screenshot: Warning! You should not delete default search engines from a search.json.mozlz4 file if you edit the file. If you delete a default search engine, then the Firefox will reset search engine list to a default state. But you can add new search engines. Download link: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/mozlz4-edit/ The extension mozlz4-edit is the other one of those I mentioned in my post about Managing search engines in Mypal 68. I tested this extension by editing a custom search engine and adding it to Mypal 68. It also worked without any problems.1 point

Hi , is it possible to remove the nulcear blast warning from it ? Otherwise , this tool is great ! Much better than the original one. (that didn;t work at all). I answered , "yes , I'm sure" . Yet it always asks me again.1 point

Yes, this 360 project was a spin-off my another project with Opera . I wrote it in 2013 (when opera became just another chrome) and then I added lots of functions . Versions are different, of course . Usually the starter works fine with a variety of versions within a range . Like Opera 44-47. Then you need to redo it again , because they always add new crap/bloat or replace/remove the flags or change the offsets . For example, my starter doesn't work with the new 21 x64 360Chrome version , I have no clue why and I'm not interested in it . This is so funny you're afraid of it , of it's size and whatnot . The new one is small though .1 point

Just wanted to answer to a guy in another topic and accidentaly closed the page . No , the keylogger did NOT reverse the contents of the reply ! So it's not there for this "useful function". Yes , I confirm the fonts problem on all of the 360chrome versions . In my case it's almost non-existent, so I just don't care . My videocard is even older . GTX Titan from Ferbruary 2013. Newer drivers do help , that's right . But they also contain bloat/crap , like vulkan , telemetry , etc.1 point

Certainly ! You mean we should see a German made OS there ? Or a German made CPU , maybe ? I remember there were Thomson made CPUs out there in the wild (1980-1990s) . Do not remember German-made though.1 point
