  2. ... Possibly slightly off-topic here, but I, too, was using above userscript (in Violentmonkey, in Serpent 52) ; it used to work on both the (bloated) desktop YT GUI and the mobile YT GUI, too (via that Fx WE) ; well, the userscript can be now considered "a thing of the past", as a result of the ruthless war Google unleashed against YT-specific scripts/extensions/downloader apps, etc. A month or so ago Google changed radically the way their fragmented streams (MPEG-DASH) are being delivered to "web" clients (browsers); each fragment is now "POST-requested" instead of "GET-requested" and, additionally, each fragment URI is now being "protected" by a PO (point-of-origin) token, unique to the browser YT session; that change alone BROKE practically all downloader usercripts for browsers (e.g. Youtube Links) and SYTARB suffered the same blow, in that adaptive age-gated streams were impossible now to "unblock"; to add insult to injury, Google have also removed the most popular "progressive download" format 22 (premuxed, standalone MP4 container with h264@720p25+aac@128k), so the userscript could, at best, unblock just the lowly format 18 (progressive, h264@360p25) ... However, it appears that even that is now out of reach, because the "age-verified-YT-account-proxy", the back-bone of the userscript (and of a specialised yt-dlp plugin) has been taken DOWN ca. 2wks ago (supposedly the hosting agreement expired ); you can read more at the userscript's GitHub issue tracker ; with Google even patching the only known "hack" (tv_embedded client) to bypass age-gated videos, it's now IMPOSSIBLE to view/download age-restricted YT videos without an age-verified YT account... I have never had a Google account myself and I'm not inclined on creating one now just for the sake of watching those age-gated clips (which, due to "political correctness", have grown exponentially in their numbers; yet another Google ploy to grab your personal details, if you ask me); in my country (EU member), the last time I checked, Google wanted to send them a digital scan of your "proper" ID card so that they could "age-verify" your YT account ... The web, just like the real world, has turned into a really "bad place" - I'm despaired/depressed by both, TBH ...

  3. Do you mean Rupees, I would have thought that it would be Roubles?! There is no problem here with saying that software is Russian, what there is a problem with is getting into political discussions about the moral aspects of dealing with Russian companies at the moment because of their government's actions, Discussing spying, tracking, or anything related to that by software, wherever it's from, is also fine, because it's a technical security and privacy issue. Saying that it's only like that because it's Russian, or Chinese, or whatever, is crossing the line, though.

  4. @feodor2 Calling up chrome://browser/content/preferences/siteDataSettings.xul directly does not show the most recent cookie database. When calling up the about:preferences page beforehand, the most recent cookie database is shown, and the XUL file call works again correctly. Do you know how to do in JavaScript the same what calling up the about:preferences page does in terms of the cookies? I need the part of the code that is executed by the call to the about:preferences page regarding cookies before I call up the chrome://browser/content/preferences/siteDataSettings.xul file. As I mentioned, I am in the process of creating a Cookie Button which opens the dialogue "Manage Cookies and Site Data". My current version automatically opens the about:preferences#privacy page and three seconds later the wanted dialogue in an own chrome window. This indeed works properly but actually I would like to avoid opening an about:preferences#privacy tab by doing the necessary commands internally via JavaScript. I already tried a lot but without any success. So, any ideas?

  5. In Modern English, you is the second-person pronoun, but in your local dialect, which we obviously don't speak, maybe.

  6. Gotcha! You again placed a space before exclamation mark! Why? Are you French? Don't be shy, tell me. "It's a common typo by French (because in French, there is a white space before a question/exclamation mark)" https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/4645/is-it-ever-correct-to-have-a-space-before-a-question-or-exclamation-mark

  7. Well, I got more than six air conditioners (8), in each and every room and even in my kitchen! Does that count? As for the vehicles, now I got only one (barely use it), two if you count my ancient German BMW motorcycle, that I'm in the process of purchasing back from the dude I sold it to by mistake.

  8. It takes time to add those back. So far, only a couple of China forks (Cent, for example) still maintain V2, Supermium, also. When asked on the forum, the Chinese developer wrote he will go on with V2 until he's exhausted to revert the changes, and then moves to V3. So, time's not on our side.

  9. Dear Xper. I need to report a serious issue that can't be made publicly without violating the rules. Is there a way to establish a hot line for this one-time reporting? Again, I would never bother if it wasn't that serious. Thanks for understanding.

  10. A RAM consumption of round about 700 MB for only one YouTube video?

  11. <sarcasm font>Is this your swan song?</sarcasm font> I love the creativity of some people here. BTW, your investigations of the VORAPIS V3 interface are strange. On my old and very weak Windows XP computer, the original YouTube interface is a real disaster. It takes ages to load and only with tons of scripts, filters and extensions, it can be accessed but when scrolling the page a bit, the loading of unwanted crap starts again with a 100% CPU usage. In contrast, the VORAPIS V3 interface is loaded in less than a minute, and the usage of CPU and RAM is much, much less as it is with the original interface, even when scrolling the page a bit. So, no swan song but stating facts.

  12. BTW, it wasn't meant offensive. It was just an observation I made when reading your comments. I'm someone who likes to say what I think, sometimes very directly. And as for Rammstein, I'm sorry to say that I've never been a fan.

  13. I assume all your random crashes are related to the already reported gkmedias.dll issue. Right? If so, you can replace this file with the previous one without having to completely revert to the previous version of New Moon 28. I mention this as I have been testing the new release the last hours. After replacing the gkmedias.dll file, this new release of New Moon 28 seems to be working fine so far.

  14. Confirmed. The gkmedias.dll file (8.496.128 Bytes) is faulty. I replaced it by the previous gkmedias.dll file (8.623.104 Bytes), and the error is history. I can confirm the same problem in the most recent release of New Moon 28 (2024-10-11). I replaced gkmedias.dll file (9.862.144 Bytes) by the previous one (9.989.632 Bytes), and the error is history.

  16. Thanks, tried that, the white text is still too white, besides it has no affect on the Supermium UI. I have 16GB, no lagging was observed.

  17. My mind is at odds with my age. My body has not been what it used to be for a long time. I give an upvote for the maturing of the spirit, but a downvote for the maturing of the body. And waiting for death doesn't really make sense, because the black bird comes all by itself. Instead, delight us with your excellent analyses and your knowledge of the code.

  18. That is what I like and agree, I prefer when I'm not overcrowded, and always choose my partners in everything, be it one-night-stands or friendship. Unfortunately, it was not always the case in my military days, until I got an officer rank, at least. So I kinda learned how to find something in common to talk about, until the mission is over, maybe try it? The most important part, don't waste your energy on them.

  19. Your observation skills are simply remarkable! I got the same crap when I reply to someone else's status (but not posts). Upgrade the browser, and the issue (at least with postings) will be gone. In my case, the minimum chrome without this issue is chrome 108.

  23. I already wrote, you tend to put lots of different/unrelated stuff in one post, and it's going downhill, when you start with good, maybe even interesting stuff and then ... caboom ... insert your favourite part with the KGB lieutenant software, literally in each and every post. I mean, I kinda want to like you ... alas.... Nevertheless, I still upvote your post, since it's a big huge progress, and thank you for the compliments! And sorry, if I was too harsh on you at times.

  25. FYI, the homepage of WiseVector StopX https://www.wisevector.com/en/ does not exist anymore. So they definitely got serious and discontinued this product. I will now completely remove my deactivated installation.

  26. You're absolutely right! What is to happen will happen anyway. There's nothing we can do about it anyway. And we don't want to make it worse, do we? Time to move on in this thread.

  27. Yep, this thread has grown a bit. Unfortunately, there are many repetitions. But not learning very much always means that a few things were there, right? You're welcome! Qihu 360 Total Security Essential 8.8.0.1119 is indeed a new option and not that bad. I do not have any problems using Chinese programs. In China, Windows XP is still quite present. Therefore, one must also increasingly expect Chinese software and be glad that there are still countries that develop programs for our old operating systems.

  28. That seems to be the norm these days. I'm not particularly squeamish and I can handle it well. The hard school of life! Being an old customer no longer means anything. Only the new customer counts until he/she/it has bought, then you are an old customer again. That was definitely different in the past.

  29. FYI, the definition updates are usually distributed several times a day. Therefore, the version changes continously. The last time I checked, two hours ago, it was 1.0.29440.

  30. Thanks! But which loss do you mean? There is personally no serious loss. If Malwarebytes really stops rolling out fresh definition updates, the current state will be good enough for a while. Of course, no new definition updates would be a great pity and another setback for all users on Windows XP and Vista. But my license is also valid for the most recent 4.5.25 or upcoming versions, i.e. versions targeting Windows 7 or 10. It's a lifetime license, whatever lifetime means, of course especially according to the recent experiences made.
