  1. ... Actually, YOU CAN'T : https://github.com/Alex313031/thorium-legacy/blob/main/docs/FAQ.md ... Same goes for Supermium and other, non-major-league, browsers; and the latest version of WidevineCDM, 4.10.2830.0, requires at least Win8 to be functional; and in Th/Sm, only the sites that do not enforce VMP will work (latest Sm-v126esr-r4 offers a kludge to re-enable WV on Win7, again ONLY for L3/non-VMP DRM services). Read above... This is ancient history ; the app/plugin hasn't been supported by Microsoft for close to a decade (off the top of my head, did not look it up) and Netflix have dropped the "Silverlight fallback" more than four years ago? ... No way; at any given time, only the latest WV release will work (which is v4.10.2830.0); planned releases are usually every 6 months (sooner, if "hacks" become publicly known); for 3-4 wks after a new release, the immediately previous one (v4.10.2710.0 currently) may also work... TL:DR For Netflix: You want Win8+ and a supported major browser (practically, this boils down to official Google Chrome & Mozilla Firefox) whose vendor has paid Google the hefty price of VMP signing ...

  3. Personally, I would tend to agree to this: Mypal 68 ≈ Firefox (≥ 68). In many ways, Mypal 68 behaves like a normal Firefox browser, but not in all. The JavaScript engine, for example, is comparable to that of higher versions. Mypal 68 is a Quantum browser, which has made it quite difficult to enable the use of UC.JS scripts, for example. The download package MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z from my first post is not available anywhere. It is very specific, and stops working in Firefox 72+ due to some code changes. I put together the configuration files myself to make it really work. In higher Firefox versions, the script functionality seems to be much easier to activate. BTW, one file of my package spits out an error in the Browser Console, which I fixed in the meanwhile.

  4. In the log it says, you have a custom theme patcher, it usually causes problems, like black screens or even BSOD, etc. Loaded driver \??\C:\Windows\system32\drivers\uxpatch.sys https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/black-screen-after-installing-ux-theme-patcher-safe-mode-isnt-even-working-on-windows-10.3751738/ https://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/177142-bsod-uxpatch-sys-error.html https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/bsod-error-driverpowerstatefailure-bugcheck-9f/f4427767-783c-476f-a607-b3fdd7e11dd8

  6. It's not off-topic because what you claim you did (changing cipher suites) also leads to the changes in those other HTTP2 fingerprints, but not akamai. But you misunderstood as usual, and rude as usual. The moderators will decide who posts off-topic, not you.

  7. @feodor2 When calling up the internal site chrome://browser/content/preferences/siteDataSettings.xul in Mypal 68.14.4b directly, the list of all cookies is not up to date in most cases. Only when you call up the about:preferences page beforehand, you get a current list of all cookies. Actually that can't be the intention. Right? So, is this a bug or really by design? When calling up the internal site chrome://browser/content/preferences/siteDataSettings.xul directly after browser restart, it is empty, broken and non-functional.

  10. I have spent the last few days testing Mypal 68.14.4b with heavy and resource-hungry websites and have come to the conclusion that old, heavily modified profiles with many extensions, userscripts and CSS stylesheets installed do not work well with sites such as eBay, Amazon or Discord. With a new, fresh profile, in which only the most necessary settings are made, these sites run much better.

  11. Possibly already a known issue, but I will report it anyway: On 24H2, if not using the enhanced Start menu, Start pops up at the bottom of the screen when using left or right aligned taskbar.

  12. Those look very much older, most likely used to get the costs down. Very similar to the items from the 80s/90s, not 2003.

  13. I never liked the Nvidia partner board designs, they can easily cheap out on the manufacturing process and the resulting product is slower than the default design.

  14. I can't confirm your statement. VORAPIS V3 works perfectly on my very old Windows XP computer. I simply installed it without any special settings. Very, very fast and responsive frontend, resource-friendly and fully functional video playback. Have a look at here: https://msfn.org/board/topic/183657-mypal-68-in-windows-xp-custom-buttons-and-extensions/?do=findComment&comment=1273034

  15. I only tested such an extension for the UXP browsers called MTube. But I didn't like it. The extension uTube was and is much better. At the moment, I am totally fine with the VORAPIS V3 extension for Mypal 68.

  16. Maybe, Chromium-based browsers don't have the same "issues" with YouTube playback. However, these browsers play YouTube videos much worse than the Mozilla-based ones under Windows XP on my machine. Thorium and 360Chrome are browser which play YouTube videos at worst on my old Windows XP computer.

  17. Thanks for the hint! The YouTube interface of VORAPIS V3 is very responsive and lightweight, though. The complete YouTube page with the demanded video, playlist and comments is loaded very fast, even on my old machine. Only some seconds. The original, non-manipulated, junk interface is almost unusable on my computer.

  18. @Tomcat76, @GH0st Yeah, I got the same problems!! My computer specs are Intel Pentium Northwood 2.80 GHz CPU (single core, 32 Bit), 1.5 GB SD-RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce 6200 graphic card, so much, much, much weaker than yours. I found a solution to get back the old 2013 layout of YouTube which is very resource-saving, loads quickly and revives the old YouTube feeling. The solution is VORAPIS V3. I use the most recent development build of the extension in Mypal 68 from this link https://vorapis.pages.dev/#/home/download instead of the version from the Mozilla page https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/v3-get-old-youtube-layout/. Now, I can finally access videos on the YouTube page in Mypal 68.14.4b again and watch them in 360p quality on my very old machine. This is a screenshot of the classic YouTube interface restored by VORAPIS V3 when a video is played in Mypal 68.14.4b:: In general, the quality 360p is all that is possible with my old hardware to watch videos fluently in browsers. The YouTube tab consumes round about 170 MB. I think that is less for the crappy YouTube. On your computers, Mypal 68.14.4b should actually play videos easily in much higher quality than 360p. If not, then your current configurations don't seem to be done properly.

  19. No. Unfortunately, this code is not effective. It does totally unnecessary things. Look at my posted screenshots! My code is working as it should. Furthermore, you didn't provide any information what you did. Thus, I can't help you.

  20. Then, you did something wrong. Check all steps again! All files have to be copied into the correct folders. And check if all modified prefs have been assigned to the correct values via about:config! Don't forget to delete the startup cache in the profile folder before you restart your browser! You have to start Mypal 68 with the profile where the chrome folder was created, of course. One thing is clear. All was tested in depth and is working. And my CSS code, too. BTW, re-posting what I wrote in my instructions is not helpful. I definitely know what I did. You should better post what you exactly did. And provide screenshots of all relevant folders' content and your userchrome.css! This is the only way I can help you.

  21. Personally, I prefer the tab bar visible to manage tabs and jump to the one I need, just the way it has always been. I only made the CSS code above on request and to show that the corresponding code can be easily created for hiding the complete tab bar, even including the New tab button. For all who need as much free screen as possible while surfing, but do not want to do without tabs completely, there will be soon a modified version of "Make the tab bar invisible in Mypal 68" in the next posts.

  22. TBH, there is actually nothing to work out. Just a bit copy and paste following the instructions. Reading and directly doing is the method.

  35. I recommend CabTool for making your cab files: http://www3.sympatico.ca/lazimute/CABTOOL_SETUP.ZIP And also use scripts for putting it in your SendTo folder: http://www3.sympatico.ca/lazimute/CABTOOLS.ZIP Sorry if this seems like an advertisement. How to repack an installer (reduces size - if you have multiple files with your installation, also use this method) For this you need WinRAR. First, select all of the files needed for your installation and right click, go to add to archive.. Check SFX Archive. Go to the Advanced tab and press SFX options. In the run after execution box, type the name of your setup file and any switches you need for it to be silent. Go to Modes. Check unpack to temporary folder. Also, press Hide All. Now just press okay twice, and you'll have your packed completely silent setup file! Hope this helps.

  36. Thanks to dale5605 for the basis of these instructions [How To Create Custom Add-ons] First step will be creating a silent switchless installer for your application. For specific switches check the product's website or look in the Application Installs forum located here. For help creating a 7-zip installer check out keytotime's excellent tutorial here. Please note that svcpack.inf does support switches. If you are not wanting to repackage an installer you do have the option of using switches in the ini file. Suggestion: before creating your add-on, download one of the posted add-ons and extract it. This will give you and indication of the structure of the add-on, and will assist in keeping the naming scheme and layout as uniform as possible. Here are the steps required to create the add-on: 1: Create a new folder and name it after your application, ie uTorrent1.3 2: Within the above folder, create another folder called SVCPACK 3: Place your switchless installer within the SVCPACK folder 4: Rename the ini file to match the name of you add-on, for example ENTRIES_UTORRENT.ini 5: Open the ini file and edit the appropriate details under the [general] section as required, eg: [general] builddate=2005/14/1 description=uTorrent language=English title=uTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint version=1.3 website=http://utorrent.com/ 6: Navigate to the [AddProgram] section of the ini file and change the name to the exe file that is within the SVCPACK folder, eg utorrent.exe (keep it as simple as possible) Your ENTRIES_PROGRAM.ini file will look something like this: [general] builddate=11/21/2005 description=product description here language=English title=Program Name version=1.0 website=http://www.programwebsite.com/ [EditFile] I386\SVCPACK.INF,SetupHotfixesToRun,AddProgram [AddProgram] PROGRAM.EXE You should now have a setup that looks something like this: within the SVCPACK folder is ur PROGRAM.EXE switchless installer. 7: Ok, the next step is to create the .cab file. Using MakeCab or CabPack, a freeware utility available here (or any method you wish!) create the cab file of the SVCPACK folder and ENTRIES_PROGRAM.ini file. Rename this cab file to something appropriate eg uTorrent_1.3.cab. THE NEXT STEP IS THE MOST IMPORTANT! Before sharing your new add-on, please TEST IT! It is imperitive you test your add-on before posting to avoid problems.
