3) Very famous 4) Simply forgot to clear old cookies. 5) MSFN implemented fingerprinting recognising the device. I saw that on some sites, it's not a joke.2 points

First of all, a little tip when replying to a post by quoting. Afler clicking the quote button, you should put your reply outside the quote. Otherwise your actual reply is hidden inside the quote, and only expanding the quote would make it readable. Back to the CSS code. All is described in detail in my article and additionally inside the MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z package. It's almost like an instruction manual. You can't really do anything wrong. The whole thing actually only takes a few minutes. Once this initial setup is done, you can easily add or manage UC.JS scripts as well as CSS stylesheets. If you have problems following the instructions, feel free to ask here!2 points

For me, that test is 50/50 chance, even on my newest hardware. Chrome eats up the CPU.2 points

That particular popup has nothing to do with the video. Before I started using the extensions that I do not track if they have Firefox versions, Edge versions, Chrome versions, or UXP versions, where was I, oh, way back when I did witness those overlay popups, they had nothing to do with the video being played, rather, they would pop up once an hour or so or after every 6th music video or so. The actual video was not the trigger that presented the popup. It's the length of time that YouTube knows you didn't click on anything, the number of videos played back to back, et cetera. The video itself is irrelevant.1 point

I'd say it differs from organization to organization. Their methiods, skills, what they are approved to do and what can they do without approval and get away from consequences. All based in organizations system, training, people and culture, both internal and broader way the "society" it is framed into looks at things surrounding them. Not sure if §2b makes it viable to discuss such things in detail, as we might get close to violating it. I just want to point out, do not make way to gross generalization by treating every case from some broad category (intelligence agencies in this regard) as equal. However similar they migght seem, even a shallow research shows that MI6, CIA, FSB, MOSAD, all have their flavour1 point

Linux is honestly such a solid choice today if you're open to learning how the command line works. Linux also works on pretty much anything that is x64, so why not? I've been on and off using Arch Linux, plus I own a macbook now, I've been able to go months without having to touch a Windows system. And to be honest, it feels good.1 point

ScanDisk can check files for duplicate names. If ScanDisk doesn't like it, it's not safe. Otherwise, it should be okay if the drive is only accessed by Windows.1 point

This is not, but the official Intel Tracking Technology in processors is, and if you noticed, the article is almost a decade old, meaning even those ancient mammoth's excrement processors already had them including those on laptops, phones, etc. You don't have to "install" anything, it's already in the CPU and controlled by the browser. Did you read the links? It's similar to echelon. Not to mention, every PC has a black box OS.1 point

What does it have to do with me? I'm asked to enter my e-mail (each time I log in) just as you, meaning I obviously don't have those. You confused me with someone else. Besides, I'm not famous and clear cookies.1 point

Oh, and before you ban me, think how the alleged billionaire Durov with those 15officially declared billions can't even allow himself an own jet, and rents it? Come on, really? Now seek for Saudi Arabia Durov's connections and who funded all his projects, those all will link to Russia. He doesn't control "his" money, Durov is a simple boot (for those who aren't familiar with slang, it means soldier).1 point

I think Shawn Keene is being a bit misleading, Aero is not officially supported starting Win8, it was dropped to favour the absolutely flat "Metro" design. DWM in Vista and 7/8 can't be lumped together, they are different. In Vista mu idling GPU with Aero stays at 0%, in Windows 7 it's about 3%. @UCyborg , why?1 point

Instead of linking to something from 2016, why won't you tell us about the latest Google "achievement", another anti-feature to be included in the next Supermium release? https://developers.google.com/privacy-sandbox/private-advertising/enrollment It has a mysterious name "Privacy Sandbox Attestations". Already there, in Chrome v.128, maybe even lower.1 point

When I check my account "security settings", it lists all devices and locations I ever logged in from, just check yours. Edit. All tracking data is being gathered and stored.1 point

Personally, I prefer the tab bar visible to manage tabs and jump to the one I need, just the way it has always been. I only made the CSS code above on request and to show that the corresponding code can be easily created for hiding the complete tab bar, even including the New tab button. For all who need as much free screen as possible while surfing, but do not want to do without tabs completely, there will be soon a modified version of "Make the tab bar invisible in Mypal 68" in the next posts.1 point

TBH, there is actually nothing to work out. Just a bit copy and paste following the instructions. Reading and directly doing is the method.1 point

The "Purge all caches" button was unfortunately removed when releasing uBlock Origin 1.55. I love it when useful, tried and tested features are simply removed, for whatever reason. Here is a link: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases/tag/1.55.0 The good is, in my special mod uBlock Origin Legacy which of course isn't compatible with Mypal 68, it will stay forever. But this is another story.1 point

Right, we aren't trying to "PROVE" anything. We have you for that. Give us your version of events. We don't insist of anything. What about the website (bank? utilities?) that blocked you from XP? Isn't it the same case?1 point

Why "bad advice"? So far, no one reported any problems. The link to UCyborg's post, I just read it, he talks about another matter. Saxon is again just being objective, no sides.1 point

Thanks for reporting! I also plan to test Mypal 68.14.3b SSE on my old Athon XP 3200+ computer in the next few days. uBlock Origin 1.46 was the last compatible for FF 68. This version should hopefully still work on an SSE only machine. Higher versions also work in Mypal 68 and even the most recent version 1.58 but I checked them on an SSE2 computer. So, try to install uBlock Origin 1.58 first, and you will easily see whether this most recent version of uBO still works on your SSE only computer. If not, try uBlock Origin 1.46. At least, that's what I would do. Regarding the interface language, there are no official language packs for this browser, at least as far as I know. Only a very few made by some users, however, for older versions of Mypal 68. That means Mypal 68 is available in English only. But you can create an own language pack, of course.1 point

First, you should fully enable hardware acceleration especially if your hardware is weak. Most corresponding prefs have already been enabled by default but the following ones should be set to the value true in any case: layers.prefer-d3d9, layers.acceleration.force-enabled and media.hardware-video-decoding.force-enabled. To force YouTube using the H.264 format, you can install the extension h264ify which you then have to configure to your needs. Personally, I avoid to play YouTube videos in browsers on my system. It's much too bloated. I prefer to use Invidious if I really want to watch those videos in a browser. Anyway! You can also install some user scripts from Greasy Fork to change YouTube settings in Mypal 68 as, for example, https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/480137-youtube-h-264-fps, or https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/493563-hide-vp9-support-from-youtube-force-30-fps-video by using Tampermonkey. But you have to test each user script as some of them don't work anymore due to the permanent changes by YouTube.1 point

Update notification Mypal 68.14.0b has been released on Codeberg.org, Therefore, I updated the first post of this thread. In this version, the automatic update of extensions is not enabled. If you are interested in re-enabling this feature, simply read this instruction: Restoring the manual and automatic update function for extensions in Mypal 68.13.3b Altough written by me for an older release, this instruction is still valid for Mypal 68.14.0b.
