Great progress! As far as I could see, Mypal 68 runs now more smoothly. Hope you can fix the plugins (flash) issue in the next release. @feodor2 I have just noticed that you closed the issue #96 Internationalization & Localization, I initially reported in June 2022 on GitHub, three days ago although all fields on the Troubleshooting Page under the section Internationalization & Localization are still empty in Mypal 68.14.3b. So why did you close this issue? Will the fix come next release?4 points

The rude name made me think it was not given by an English speaker. Most probably - Russian. But due to the limited choice of sharing services, I still decided to link to it, especially if consider the very good speed.2 points

Well, the topic title didn't specify whether it needs to be open for all, or not. The only demand I saw - it needs to be free. Thank you for pointing out to a polite duplicate version!2 points

@feodor2 Thank you very much for the new releases, especially for the SSE release! You seem to have fixed the SSL issue when accessing MSFN showing "The connection is not secure" without the green padlock. In Mypal 68.14.3b, it again shows "The connection is secure" and the green padlock. I did only a few tests but thanks so far.2 points

Not sure if this is a known issue or if its a bug or not but I wanted to leave this hear anyway just in case When opening start menu with your mouse, and then closing it with the Windows Button on the keyboard, it reopens the Start menu. Loving the update and I'm excited for the full release!1 point

I signed up here just to reply to this thread! I panic when StartAllBack breaks after I update Windows 11 (Preview) and fear that's the end of it all. I installed v3.7.11 with no luck and resigned myself to having to use RetroBar. But then I found this forum and this thread and v3.8 beta is working great! Thank you @Tihiy, you are a hero!1 point

Here, since you don't think I belong here, MY XP-Era machine IS SLOWER THAN YOURS. I belong here! Whether YOU like it or not. PassMark did not list the Pentium 3 for a comparison and it wasn't worth my time to locate this comparison for you. REALITY IS, if you want to pit my XP in a battle with your XP, yours is FASTER. Again, I belong here! Sure, mine is only 14yrs "young" and yours may be older by five calendar quarters, but age doesn't paint the entire canvas. And YES, I took GREAT OFFENSE to your statement claiming otherwise! "You are forgiven", whether you want to be or not.1 point

Certain AMD video drivers can make BSODs appear corrupted or as plain black screen which can make it hard to distinguish them from regular display driver hangs or (integrated)monitor connectivity issues. To diagnose issues correctly it's a good idea to enable MiniDump and disable automatic restart on system failure: Go to sysdm.cpl (search for it in the start menu) than advanced tab, startup and recovery settings, select small memory dump and disable "Automatically restart" checkbox BSODs Block all input devices and sound Do allow for system shutdown with a single short power button press. Can generate a MiniDump in %SystemRoot%\Minidump. MiniDump may not get generated if you shutdown too soon and don't let a BSOD "run" for some time (1 minute should be safe) or saving data to disk has failed. To read minidumps you can use BlueScreenView from nirsoft Display Driver Hang / Black screen Usually block all input devices and sound Do NOT allow for system shutdown with a single short power button press. You have to hold it to shutdown Don't generate a minidump, you may want to search the eventlog (integrated)Display connectivity issues Input devices and sound works as system continues to function.1 point

There are problems with these sites in this browser: 1) You can't log in to your account on the torrent tracker Demonoid, the login button is not pressed: https://ibb.co/3ykPyyw 2) The Yandex email service is working with errors. The screenshot shows an example of writing the word Hallo in one line and how it is displayed: https://ibb.co/mGttMq6 3) The Russian social network VK works with errors. When you switch to another site, the browser freezes and you have to close it in emergency mode: https://ibb.co/88svm8X Thanks.1 point

Hi ; In the past, I have politely asked you to put some more effort into improving the quality of your problem reports, but it appears I can't get the message through ; indeed, "one picture is worth a thousand words", but in this case it's far from it... Please, provide "clickable links" of the actual problematic URLs and also try to include English translation(s) of the error(s) your Russian-localised OS generates ; if the errors you encounter are manifesting themselves ONLY when being logged-in, few here (including the developer) without a proper account already will go into the trouble of registering just to troubleshoot your errors ... As a rule of thumb, social media portals, be it western (e.g. Facebook) or eastern (e.g. VKontakte) are relentless towards anything "legacy", i.e. H/W, OS, browser; they're veritable beasts of Javascript and CSS that put a heavy tax on older desktop machines; I avoid social media with a passion, but if "one" must use them, better limit "oneself" to a mobile device with a recent version of Android/iOS... Small rant aside , I launched latest NM28 [v28.10.7a1 (32-bit) (2024-05-23)] and tried to load: https://vk.com/megaslava The browser struggled for a few seconds (5-8s) while trying to render huge blobs of code , but in the end the URI was successfully displayed: As a further test, I reloaded that same URI ten (10) consecutive times, not once did I get anything similar to what's contained in your first screenshot ; as I don't have a VK account myself, I only tested as an anonymous VK user ... As for your second screenshot, it would appear VK use serviceWorkers, so in "about:config" just enable them (if not already): dom.serviceWorkers.enabled;true FWIW, I didn't get any of the errors depicted in your second image, probably because I'm not being logged-in ... My friendly advice to you: If you can, use one of the XP-compatible Chromium derivatives for VK.com (and likewise for other "offenders" like Instagram/X/Youtube etc.) ... Regards.1 point

They're still comparable in a way that one core will still run only one task at once, just like single-core CPU. That does sound a bit extreme. I got few temporary freezes then and then for few seconds on my slowest computer, which has a dual-core APU (AMD's term for CPU and GPU in a single chip) clocked at 1,35 GHz, if I opened too many pages. At that point, it's better to restart the browser. MSFN is probably one of the lightest websites I visit. Back then web browsers were still more like fancy HTML document parsers. Then rapid-release treadmill started and browsers grew in complexity and I guess that idea got lost in trying to preserve other features making it distinct from ChromeZilla and fighting with web compatibility issues, which has turned into application platform in the meantime.1 point

Perhaps win32 will be able to keep Manifest V2 in Supermium, it should land in Thorium as well. My remark about choice and apathy was meant to be more general, more broad, not limited to web browsers or even computers. I made a bit ranty / rude post a while back on PM forum about them switching 64-bit builds to require AVX (1) instruction set, they deleted it. Still wonder where it makes significant difference compared to SSE2 build. I've been using contributed AVX2 build on work laptop for a while, but I'm not sure I'm detecting much regarding performance. What little I did turned out to be more related to clean session vs dirty session. I think only clever manual coding could speed it up significantly...maybe, Mozilla couldn't do it with keeping all the cruft for extensibility. This whole thing reminds me of one aspect in gaming world, (G)ZDoom source port of Doom, original game was released in 1993 and it's famous for being ported to all sorts of devices that at least have something resembling a CPU. I've read on VOGONS forum you may be able to run Doom Eternal from 2020 more smoothly on 2013 hardware than some mods on GZDoom specifically, some due to bad coding of mods, some due to all the cruft in the engine that's there to support competing standards for extending game logic. And even having expensive computer won't help with performance much. Kinda similar with Pale Moon, you can't sell that browser to an average individual, it's almost universally perceived as very slow. I'm somewhat used to it, but I also use other browsers, depending on the mood. Though I tried disabling 3 of 4 cores on my CPU recently and tried browsing on XP with Serpent, but this is where my patience ends, couldn't live with that.1 point
