  1. .NET Core is still supporting Windows 7 for now. But it is hanging on by a thread. But some Qt 6 applications have gone straight to Windows 10 only. And the big thing on Windows 10 seems to be winuser (user32) functions, mostly related to DPI scaling. I should work around those once .NET Core is settled (only thing is that Vista's support for neutral locales is almost non-existent, so I am implementing a neutral locale table). That will take me a few days as I want to ensure that the revised locale support is up-to-snuff and as good as Windows 8/10 (noting that most improvements were done in 7).

  4. The newer Adobe CC setups would be hopeless anyway. I once tried running the CC 2019 installer awhile back on Windows 7, and it did not render any text making it useless. Then I realized I had IE 8. I upgraded to IE 11 and it started working. The system requirements for Adobe CC do not say anything about IE either. IE isn't as tied into the shell these days, but I think it would constitute a significant amount of wasted effort. I would need a bit of convincing to justify updating IE. Not even the fact that MS Account integration in Chromium Edge relies on IE 11 convinced me to work on it.

  5. And the last word about starting the proxy. The best way to start it is to execute StartProxy.exe. This programm is what ProxHTTPSProxy_PSwitch.exe was in @heinoganda's release. And he did it in a complete different way, much more complicated, though. A combination of batch programming and Python.

  6. No problem! I try my very best to explain such things. The idea of my package was to control the proxy, don't forget it!

  7. Yes, I see that now! Not an issue for me, but it would have been for anyone who was only starting the proxy when they needed it and then stopping it again. Sorry again that it took so long for me to get there.

  8. I did try with ProxHTTPSProxy.bat when ProxHTTPSProxy.exe wouldn't run on boot without being delayed. It worked fine. So it's just the automatic activation and deactivation that wasn't working? That's why I didn't see anything wrong, as I don't pay any attention to that, I just have the proxy running all the time. Anyway, I will put your new version of StartProxy.exe back, as it's obviously better in any case. Sorry for 'muddying the waters'!

  10. Yeah, I wouldn't want to grow up in this world again, at least when I got home school it was over, now, with social media, the bullying continues Well I am cautious to offer "Help" to others, I mean, I 'full of it' (Advice .. ha) but while the internet may be the only means people can reach out, its not substitute for professional help. I'm not more than just a mere option, a reclusive nut that hardly ever leaves my own little bubble now. I just share as I see from my POV; only and I'd never want to steer others towards anything harmful. Yep .. after 1PM stuck inside still in sweat pants while the world turns around me, not a good shining example. Again, working on it and a work that likely will be in progress until I expire, I doubt I'll ever "get it" and don't really want to get it, just to survive.

  15. Very true words spoken or written My dearly departed dad almost 80 always said to be humble and he never was vain even in things such that he should've taken great pride in, but, from him, I learned that everything we allow ourselves to feel is usually ego based and one needs to be cautious when allowing ourselves to adopt that thinking that others are somehow 'beneath' and we could become egotist and self indulgent. Vanity or inflated pride (in oneself) sometimes can lead to disappointment as fame is fleeting, rather, we can still be aware that we are living in a vain world and best ways to adapt or 'go with the flow - the current' can also help us. RE Self-Help Advice Really need to not always trust the sources when searching online as its can come from conflicted people therefore the advice from them is slanted and tainted by their own experiences or lack or processing them which results in questioning our own beliefs, though, I do enjoy hearing from others online but need to be cautious when taking of others 'baggage' and maintain that understand of such. The collective conscious or so attractive and belonging in this existence (struggling for the right wording as this is all coming from my head. Its a circus in there sometimes ... hahaha https://theconsciousvibe.com/this-is-what-collective-consciousness-means/ Seems like a long read, but very worth it if you can read that article and appreciate our connection. We humans are not just computers. @msfntor I've been enjoying many of your recent posting here ... I think it helps you to help others ... I guess I also feel the same

And only, in part, it can be attributed to vanity. As it is about learning new habits, and making use of that license to vanity, it is that I write these lines when crossing the threshold of 80 years. Old people tend to talk about the past in a didactic way, with the understanding that all experience teaches, and, therefore, there is a risk of falling into self-help advice, which is not so disrespectful if one thinks of the other. 18. This is just too good for words ... I LOVE it!! When I lived in the City in the 90's (I lived in Bronx NY ... right off Broadway) I missed out on the nature and got used to cars, shootings, and very loud music and thought nothing of it, but I was young and fearless and I don't miss it now and need quiet and nature to ground me.

  22. I suspect just for recognizing that we feel something is amiss regarding our mood alone proves we are "Mindful". Ain't is great to be self aware Sometimes reflecting and overthinking can sour the mood. That being said, I'd be telling lies if I claimed to be (so called) 'stable' ... besides, what is stable anyway?! Like the waves on the ocean the tide rises and drops. This is my main issues (one of many) of being medicated on mood stabilizers and medications in general to make you flat zombie and emotionless. I'd also be telling falsehoods if I said my moods have gone from extreme empty to mania. Ugh. balance somewhere and when moods feel askew, I find best to now (over) dwell on it too hard. Dust yourself off and just keep trying is all. I'm just taking it day-by-day now as the worry alone is toxic to our health and well being. But yeah, I know I was reading something last night and watched a pretty good guided meditation vid, but can't find it right now, but it helped me untangle thoughts. Will try to find.

  25. If your hard drive is defective or has bad sectors, you should back it up completely and then test it for errors using the manufacturer's checking or formatting software. Sometimes, there are just pending sectors and can be fixed by hard drive electronics, triggered by executing the manufacturer's checking or formatting software. I did that successfully several times in the past. Check your hard drive first by using Hard Disk Sentinel or CrystalDiskInfo to know exactly what's wrong with your hard drive! Both programs are available as portables, too. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  29. Support for installing Chromium extensions, saving their settings, as well as keeping cookies and other settings has been implemented: The original objective was to fix the "CultureNotSupported"-related exceptions that prevented .NET Core 5 from working, but under the belief that the .NET and Chromium issues were connected, I worked on solving the issue using Chromium. It turns out that .NET's issues are unrelated.
