  1. I just checked Dosbox-X, seems nice. Maybe a bit overloaded with options for you though. Configuration Tool > Mixer Increase buffersize and prebuffer (0-100%). This may make sound be delayed a bit. Reduce the sampling rate in the sound mixer, and also in the emulated sound card settings (SB, GUS, etc.). Use standard values like 22050 or 11025. This will lower the sound quality a bit though, Also try to free some CPU from other parts of the emulation - disable unused hardware like network, floppy, IDE ports, etc. Enable Frameskip - this is a compromise between speed (with "jumpy" video) and smooth video (but slowed down if host CPU can't keep up). Disable video scaler and V-Sync. Try Dynamic CPU core. Reduce emulated CPU speed/cycles. If nothing helps, try the regular Dosbox with the frontend from my first post. It has a database with settings for many games.

  3. The usual way to sort bookmarks on Mozilla browsers is to right click on the bookmarks' folder, and select "Sort by Name". It can't be done in the list of bookmarks itself, and A>Z is the only sort option.

  5. i saw the sumatra author already made a 3.3.3 version the code to apply was easy there was no big differens https://www.file-upload.net/download-14660525/3.3.3.zip.html i wrote you a personal message you might could try what i wrote if thats the problem a other solution would be a direct contact and look where the code actually really fails the message is multiple times in the sumatra pdf code, cant make the conclusion only with that (that message is also not directly at the load of the the jpg files, it also would have failed at a different spot) that release is new enough i think the latest compatible version was in 2015 now its 08/2021 the 3.3.3 version is from 07/2021 while windows 11 is from 06/2021, the compiler version 16.10 is also 07/2021

  6. Anyway (for someone that likes tea) it is literally tantalizing. though - most probably - that teapot is not any better than the Nutri-matic machine Douglas Adams described: jaclaz

  7. Thanks, I've referred the GPU-Z dev to that thread to see if it helps. At least he will know that he's not the only one having this problem!

  8. You can just test it and see for yourself whether it's working or not . Run cmd.exe and copy/paste these commands. The command to enable TRIM : fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify 0 The command to test TRIM : fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify Yes, you need to type "behavior" instead of the much more common "behaviour". Also , disable the page file completely (you can even delete the pagefile.sys later) , if you have enough RAM , I'd say with 8-16GB of RAM it's absolutely fine to disable it. https://www.minitool.com/lib/pagefile-sys.html

  10. thats what they actually did: there is something called CRT (c runtime) in the past that barly did anything or even was not used the files can be shown in visual studio, and i wrote thembackwards (there is no coding error from my side here) but actually visual studio has this file cached, stored, buildin and do not use my changed files for example i also deleted that function from defition in windows files (and still that CRT still used that function) france had a similiar problem, but he refused to write this in microsoft forums while other said we shouldnt try microsoft knows that (well still some should not lead away instead you should try it anyways neither what microsoft then actually do) this C RunTime then import that functions even if your code is not using that functions

  11. This from the GPU-Z developer. "Grrrr .. all I did was update my Visual Studio 2019 version to the latest, without touching the compiler (still using v141_xp). But apparently they made some change that uses this API call*, which isn't available on Windows XP. Will search for a solution." *AcquireSRWLockExclusive

  12. I queried this on the GPU-Z forum as there's no mention in the 2.41 changelog of XP compatibility being withdrawn. One of their mods said that XP was still supported, and would be "for as long as possible". I unpacked the 2.41 file with Universal Extractor, and when I run the unpacked version I get the message "The helper module .NET Framework 4.6 could not be found" so I guess that's the problem. I don't think .NET 4.6 is available for XP. I've made them aware of this. Whether they can fix this, and will, remains to be seen. Addition - Also I'm getting in the Windows System Event Log "Application popup: GPU-Z 2.41.0_unpacked.exe - Entry Point Not Found : The procedure entry point AcquireSRWLockExclusive could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.DLL."

  14. Microsoft kinda "has to" go that route. Look at the success of Apple. When we were growing up, a digital watch was a teeny tiny step up from white tape across the bridge of your glasses and donning a calculator watch. But Apple turned that digital watch into a fashion trend, a social class moniker of sorts. Apple led a revolution where you don't look to GM, GE, or Citigroup as an economic indication of the economy, you look at "phone stocks" and how many phones were sold over Christmas. True, Microsoft tried to take Apple's lead and tried a mobile OS (8) but failed - because that OS was so-so for a tablet but it couldn't carry over to a wrist watch. So now Microsoft is trying again and trying something that should not only fit today's tablets, but should also fit tomorrow's wrist watch. Or something like that...

  15. it will coz theres simply nothing to innovate on 2D surface frames so you can either have 1-colored bul***** like they had with win 3.1 // 8 // 10 - which (for some reason) all id*** call modern or sort of "3D" (classic) style or anything bitmapped (lets call it XP style) or translucent which came with vista/7 and now is comming to some sort back again tho it looks more like KDE/Deepin to me but meh... but does look really matter that much ? people seemengly only comment on new look, nobody gives a rats arse it is still inherited windows 10 spyware
