  4. Wow! Good thing none of the women here at work were standing over my shoulder. HR Crisis averted.
  5. Do you have other customization software like Fences?
  6. Good morning! In Windows 98 SE, using any version of the 9x drivers for the D-Link AirPlus XtremeG DWL-G520 v.B3 pci card results in a VFAT init error on the 2nd reboot. This card worked with a previous 98 installation on the same Dell Dimension 4100. I realize online support for these cards is quite limited, so any help provided is appreciated.
  7. See here which browsers support it: https://caniuse.com/?search=h.265 For Firefox: See: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1889731
  8. @Tihiy I ran into an interesting problem rendering search results in the Start Menu ... please see video bellow https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZr6xMZYIDrWgx7Nnh7ncaVjl01Gjv54JE7 Is it a problem of my setting or bug? Thanks, Michael
  9. I ran a test with uBlock Origin Lite with the filter lists in the image below enabled. I used the full filtering block (which can be selected differently on each website). No ads.
  10. True. I've *never* "installed" any web browser in over 20 years! Too much CRAP used to be "bundled" with browsers so I stopped "trusting" installers a LONG time ago.
  11. Not if you use a "loader" such as WinPenPack or X-Chrome or PAF, they all work for Supermium and Thorium to make them portable with zero registry-writes and fully self-contained folder structures.
  12. forget about it, it is not doable. even upstream's upstream (i.e. mozilla) is not willing to support it. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1332136
  13. I've been trying to install Windows Longhorn (Gave up after a year) and Windows 2000 on this machine for over 2 years now. I've ran into basically every issue in the book. STOP 0x0000007B (Fixed I think? Can't tell. Don't see this issue appear anymore.) Setup hangs after it loads all the drivers. (Setup is loading Windows 2000 setup) iaStor.sys is corrupted (Most recent issue. People claim this can be an architectural issue. My PC has a 64 bit processor but I've downloaded all 32 bit drivers due to W2K not having an official 64 bit release) I've read a lot from these forums and others that people have successfully installed W2K on this very same PC. If I'm not mistaken, this PC is fully OEM with the exception of the GPU and HDD (SATA) I'm just lost on why I'd have this much trouble installing something like this on a PC that isn't even that new. I'm aware with my already existing hardware that would cause problems. I will provide a full DxDiag dump with useless info removed. Everything I'm doing is using nLite to slipstream my drivers into my ISO and making a bootable USB via WinSetupFromUSB. My disk drive has no problems reading disks but it seems incapable of writing to disks. I've tried everything to burn this to a disk and it just never works. My only option is to use USB. I've also tried other things in case my USBs are broken/ports aren't working such as SD card adapters, multiple USBs, external HDDs, Multiple internal HDDs, nothing is working. I'm aware of W2K being unable to detect larger HDDs and have already made registry edits for enabling large LBA calls. I'm just hoping to get some help either finding genuine drivers/modded drivers to help the installation process. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I've been at this for as long as I could remember with other installations but I refuse to give up on this one. DxDiag.txt
  14. Extracting the executable to a folder & running chrome.exe for the first time still creates new registry entries & directories (so it won't be portable). These won't affect your Thorium (or any other browser) installs, if that's an issue.
  15. I thought it is only a real installer which has to be executed to get a working installation. Most installers write entries in the registry which are needed for proper installation. However, I didn't check the Supermium installer so far.
  16. No installer is needed for Supermium as a portable. Any Chrome "loader" will work and the "installer" can be extracted with dozens of different extractors. Just because it's an "exe", that doesn't mean you have to "execute" it, lol.
  17. TBH, this is more about Windows 10 on such old computers. Watching YouTube in browsers on my hardware needs special settings and methods. In Thorium, I would have to install scripts and an efficient ad blocker like uBlock Origin to make it work as it should if at all. YouTube has become a monster in recent years, and it's just bad. I hate all the changes that have been made there. I would like to test Supermium as well but only in portable mode. No installer, please. I hate Chrome installers. That's why I tried Thorium.
  18. Hint - don't use the forum search feature In google or bing, just include site:msfn.org as part of your search, I assume "all" search engines allow that, these are the only two I use and I know it works for both of them
  19. I am bad at searching in 5 Threads with 200 pages each. Did anyone try to get HVC decoded using Basilisk Serpent 52 on Vista? Austrian Broadcasting Company uses DRM protected webstreams for live TV https://tvthek.orf.at/livestreams I did find the thread about ESR52 and Adobe DRM plugin for H264. Its installed manually, but I dont think it matters here. Cannot play media. No decoders for requested formats: video/mp4;codecs="hvc1", video/mp4;codecs="hev1.1.6.L93.B0", video/mp4;codecs="hvc1", video/mp4;codecs="hev1.1.6.L93.B0", application/vnd.apple.mpegURL, application/x-mpegURL, audio/mpegurl, audio/x-mpegurl Wass there ever a 52ESR plugin for this?
