I agree 100% with the snoozer, but then if you cannot do it with a batch file and regedit, it's not for me. If I were to use another method, I would simply log on to a new installation, make all my desired changes, save the user's registry hive file (NTUSER.DAT), and copy it to the Default User's profile during setup.

Then make a sfx with winrar with the shortcuts u want to be there, and let it unpack here.

Here is an autoit script that will set your system to have the quicklaunchbar.

You have to run it once in windows mode. Copy it to the default user Autostart directory and your problems will be solved.

So, where's the AutoIt script code?

I cannot believe that something as often requested as this has not been simplified and included in something like nLite !!!! Surely someone can work out a fool proof way and tell nuhi so he can add it.... its the one big bugbear in my Unattended installs

There is a very easy way to do it mentioned in the nlite thread.

You can do that with a batch file. Just create a bunch of shortcuts and have the batch file copy them over to %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Or even a winrar sfx file ran at runonce or svcpack will do the trick.

This small program will enable\disable the Quick Launch from within a windows enviroment, I have not tested if its function is the same from cmdline.txt or Runonce, if someone does test please post results.

I did not creat the program it was founds in VistaUA package.
