I'm all excited and waiting for it!@edmoncu-Well, those scenarios you describe are a bit complex to explain. You'll have to carry out a trial-and-error method yourself (to succeed). Or, you can stick to the tried-and-tested methods, and save yourself some pain.

I forget the specific number, but it supports the /integrate switch.
MastaVR6
See The KB 828930 - it details how most current (Q819696, Kb822603, Kb823182, Kb823559, Kb824105, Kb825119, Kb840374, Q329115, Kb818043) files that use 'update.exe' to execute can use the /integrate switch. Alanoll
Dual Mode updates deals with SP1/SP2 hotfixes so they can be applied on comptuers with either RTM/SP1 installed. As a side note, the integration is basically what XPCREATE currently does

prathapml
good news! You can junk all your hot-fixes, and svcpack.inf fiddling, and all the head-aches of testing after that. SP2 for winXP is getting released in a few hours. Just slip-stream that into your XP install source, and you'll be OK. No hot-fixes/updates/add-ons needed. Aaron
the only latest XPSP2 version i am seeing is the RTM version (build 2180?) which i think has been pulled up at the last minute?A number of builds have been tagged rtm, so nothing's definite on what the final build number may be. This subject doesn't fit in this thread.
muevelonyc
You know that point where after the blue setup screen reboot, it comes to those 5 steps where it installs components and such before actually going into XP inself? At that point somewhere close to the end, (while installing components stage), it gives me a Run32 Error c:\documentsAnyone have any idea where this error comes from, or had something similar in the past? Or is there a way to supress error pop up boxes completely?
ChiDragon
Sounds like you're trying to do something with C:\Documents and Settings\ but forgot to include quotes around the path. Doesn't have anything to do with hotfixes though...
Aaron
Make sure 817787 isn't in svcpack.inf. This is mentioned in the first post that 817787 is not svcpack.inf supported as it causes a C:\Documents error like you said.
muevelonyc
Aahhh... that's probably the culprit. So I'll put this in the hotfixes then, right? Thanks!
