nitroshift Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Oh man, I ponder for a version of nLite for Vista!!! Remove all the crap! Nuhi, I can't wait for it!!!!! Whatever you call it, I'm sure it will do with Vista what the actual release of nLite does with XP (and TBH, that's what matters first of all).
bledd Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Vlite(althought it begs the question, why the 'n' for pre vista then)
nuhi Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 The name "nLite Vista" would be a good choice, but maybe you will get problems with Microsoft.....Vista word isn't owned by MS, it's normal English nounhttp://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=vistaWindows Vista is however owned by MS.
Troglodyte Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 nVisiLite Not sure... this is a difficult one to name. Either way, I'm very pleased to see you have been working on it, and that it will be a separate program. As I think that is the wisest decision. No matter what its called I'm sure it will be great. I will never fully adopt vista unless I can trim down all the fat. So thanks.
boooggy Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 i like veestah......but anyway....also ViLite sound good....
Delprat Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 (edited) i'm 128th voter... and there's only 22 posts... about the name... my two cents :Windows Vista => Winstarevert the W and you get ... MinstaOS (for "minimal vista OS")okay, my lack of imagination and me are going elsewhere, no need to open the door for me ++edit: just realized... maybe 64th voter instead ? seems like i got confused between "voters" and "votes"... Edited October 16, 2006 by Delprat

(OK, I know that Windows is a trademark.)Please choose the name which is well pronounceable at least like nLite is.
StephenC Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I for one don't plan on migrating to Vista. If I'll see myself forced to install it, it will be on a virtual machine under Linux. The Vista license forbids any installation in virtual hardware or emulators. You can with Ultimate, but then you can't use any software that uses DRM.Also, you can only upgrade your pc once, then you have to buy another copy of Vista.Vista license:http://download.microsoft.com/documents/us...53f722371fa.pdfStephen

sunnyboymark Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Ok I'm having the naming issue...it was planned to be named Veestah (Vista + Cheetah, don't laugh )but some people told me it's not that wise, what do you think, is 'nLite for Vista' better? Maybe shorter like 'nLite Vista'...hmm even makes sense. What about "VistaLite" or "LiteVista" or instead of nlite, change to"vLite"
nuhi Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 r3incarnat0r, yeah that's what I would like toosunnyboymark, I'm even using vLite as my internal codename but that's not so catchy. How about nLite VE, like Vista Edition?
