Office 2007 Beta 1 Technical Refresh

Featured Replies

Rice boy, are you talking about beta 2? or CTp 1 Refresh... since hte post started with CTP refresh 1, i assume he was still talking about that, if he is on Beta 2 i believe it needs to be activated...

just got accepted into the beta, is there any timebomb in it? As in a little bit of code that disables itself after a certain date?

Sorry if I posted in the wrong place :blushing:

The problem has been resolved. Activation was required, there was a problem with the server, it is now working.

Take care

Dave

Is there a way to install Office 2007 Beta 2 without it checking for previous versions - it wont let me install it because it says I have prevous versions installed which I dont

no activation is done with the office products... just the cd-KEY is needed

Are you sure about this? I downloaded it , used the key and the activation window pops up telling me that I need to activate it with "X" number of uses left. Can't connect though and according to the MS Office discussion group there are a lot of people who can't activate their copy either.

Just like WinXP and other WinOSes MSO2007 has so called corporate serials. If you have a corporate serial, then you don't have to activate it, on the other hand, if your key is just a key given to beta testers and for public use given out by microsoft, then you have to activate it or your MSO2007 will be crippled.
