As I post it is currently 1:50 am my time, and I am finishing up the last of my projects which is due in about 12 hours.So Tom I ask you to see it from the otherside of the coin, look at it from our perspective, that of someone involved in school who like an intelligent person, makes sure that school is a bigger priority than the projects he does for fun. You must remember that Aegis has stated many times that this project is being constructed in his spare time. He's not asking for any money for it, and I doubt it will make him worldly famous, however when it's done, I have no doubt that we will all be thoroughly amazed at how thoroughly thought out and well constructed Windows GE is (even if the performance boost is only as slim as 5%).P.S.I dunno if your familiar with XPE or not, but it's very complex and has numerous intricacies, that allow you to build windows from the ground up. It is very hard and time consuming to build a fully functional operating system from the ground up (even if the various components are compartmentalized for ease of use). ripken204 Posted March 23, 2006 Share Posted March 23, 2006 well aegis, i think that gdogg is right, we should try to get some more private beta testers, youve had me for a month and thats it....i am also working in my spare time.and gdogg, afaik aegis is trying to slim it down as much as possible but maybe too much. the one that i am working on is larger than his but that may be b/c i have all of my drivers in there. gdogg Posted March 23, 2006 Share Posted March 23, 2006 honestly, I just posted to wake the thread, cause mine got woke, and thats normally how it goes anyway.I know aegis is gonna be shrinking it down, and basically I was curious because microwinX supports xpe, and thus xpge. and if he chooses not to get back to below the 37MB \windows mark w/o drivers, then it might be benificial to give me a beta test, to get it ready for microwinX beta 3.5 release. Contrary to the Viagra ads, size does not matter, at least to a point. What's the use of a 37MB Windows directory as compared to a 370MB folder size? It might make a slight difference, but it's not worth Reshacking the crap out of the files and then compressing it with UPX.And please clarify this sentence: "microwinX supports xpe, and thus xpge". spazmire11 Posted March 23, 2006 Share Posted March 23, 2006 what i belive gdogg is saying is that microwinx may(will?) eventualy support xp-e, now if im thinking right here it would certanly be intresting to have a xp-ge with microwinx tweaks. i certanly would be intrested in such a system, however as of now I have not made any atempts or tries with xp-e so i cannot say at all if a system like that would be possible.
