indianarchie Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Would choose to build if i knew how to assemble it. Makes total customization possible, which u dont get with readymade systems!
KJxp Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 The only time I'd BUY a computer is a laptop, and only because I don't know how to build one of those. Even still, I would wipe the hard drive clean and start over without the OEM junk.
cheezus420 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Im getting a Dell dude... NOT!!! Y buy when u can build for so much cheaper (and more fun)
Cee-Kay Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Build one, without a shadow of a doubt. Why? well there are so many reasons (most have already been mentioned) where's the fun in paying for something you can't have exactly the way you want? (Without paying a small fortune to companies like Dell!)Oh and all the pre-loaded junk they force upon you which 9 times out of 10 gets re-installed when you use the recovery disc that came with your new PC. That's definitely one of my pet peeves! I'm sure other people will agree with me when I say there's nothing better than after saving up your money to have big cardboard boxes being delivered to your door! The building part has to be the best part of course, you always remember how much quicker your computer boots into Windows, or how much quicker your favourite game runs -- nothing better IMO.Only time I would purchase 'off the shelf' would be a laptop, other than that custom-built all the way!
Phyridean Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I wonder if there's anyone on this site who would put buy...Always build, if not to get the exact components you want, then just for the satisfaction of the first time it turns on.
Nerwin Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 I just built my new pc This Is what i put in itP4 3.2Ghz 800fsb w/HT512 of ram (2 GIGs SomeDay)160 Gig Hard Drivedvd BurnerWindows Xp ProJust Under 700 Bucks
Matt_ Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 I would build so you can have exactly what you want.
Dude111 Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Well seeing as I like Older OS's (Win98se mostly) the only thing i could do is build it myself..I suppose i could find one on Ebay or somewhere else in working condition.....I think building one would make one feel MUCH BETTER about themselves when its all completed and works well
lawrencep93 Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I would build home PC.I would buy a liquid cooled gaming PC and upgrade it.I would buy a laptop.I would upgrade the ram and hard drive of that laptop.
awergh Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 hmm everyone agrees to build though this is an old thread. building is much more fun then buying cause u have to reinstall the OS anyway
Tripredacus Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Any time it comes to me wanting a new PC, I'll look and see what I can get. So maybe there is a computer I can buy that has exactly what I want, but usually this isn't the case. So I have to build it instead.
pm* Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 i like to build the system especially i like to over lock my configurationi'm trying to overlock
FAT64 Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Always build. That way you don't compromise, you get a computer to your exact specifications - sweet.
