WMP10 Slipstreamer Version 1.1

Featured Replies

What is it? Where did you get the info from?

I've made a batch file to simplify the slipstreaming process of WMP10. It's based on the post of Obliviator.

With which languages of WMP10 does it work?

It's confirmed to be working with the following languages:

  • Brazilian - Portuguese
  • Chinese (Traditional)
  • Dutch
  • English U.S.
  • French
  • German
  • Hebrew
  • Italian
  • Polish
  • Russian

IMHO the list above is the proof that it should work with ANY language!

How to use it??

  • 1 Place WMP10_Slipstreamer_V11.cmd in the same folder as the WMP10 installer. The WMP 10 installer MUST be named MP10setup.exe, else the batch file won't find it. It doesn't matter in which folder you place both, it can really be anywhere.
  • 2 You'll find a i386 folder on your C:\ partition, which you have to copy to the root of your UWXPCD. Confirm when asked to overwrite and voila!
  • 3 Edit the i386\HIVEDEF.INF file. Edit it like this:
    [AddReg]
    HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","AcceptedPrivacyStatement",0x00010003,1

DON'T remove WMP9 with nLite! If you do so, this won't work!

Where can I download it?

You can download the batch file from BTSunatended.net.

Version 1.1

Removed one step, because it was completely useless. (credits: jcarle)

This sounds great, awesome site update btw! Will test in vmware asap!

[EDIT]

NOTE: This will not work if you remove Windows Media Player beforehand using nlite. I already tried.

1)Used Bâshrat the Sneaky's WMP10 Slipstreamer v1.0 ENGLISH

(copied files to I386 and edited HIVEDEF.ini as instructed)

2)Added "Bâshrat the Sneaky's MassStorage DriverPack" using Method 1.

3)TESTED with VMWARE & Confirmed Working!

I was able to Install the Energy Bliss Visualization as normal in runonceex.cmd as well.

REG ADD %KEY%\010 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\MP10_EnergyBlissViz.exe /Q" /f

but why do this when you can just add the installation into your batch file on the unattended cd?

I just walk away and return when it's done anyways, so if it takes an extra minute, it doesn't bother me

really interesting, i'll check the code tomorrow :)

ps: i didn't saw your avatar till now Bâshrat, nice ;)

it works for me

but i still get that thing at first run

am i supposed to?

also, can i romove wmp with nlite if i integrate it after?

edit: oh nvm, found my answer above

Just thought I'd mention that the step where you delete the file is absolutely unnecessary... if you remove that step out of your batchfile the result will still be exactly the same. :)

How so would that be unnecessary? It saves space!

EDIT: you ARE talking about the step where the batch file removes the unnecessary files, aren't you?

My congratulations to both of you Obliviator and Bâshrat the Sneaky. You guys have finally fulfilled a long awaited desire to automate the slipstream process of WMP10 with Windows XP.

I furthur tested this WMP10 installation with dxdiag and Windows Media Encoder. It's all perfect.
