  1. Good morning everyone, I may infact never want to touch a computer again. I have roughly the following PC: Intel 875PBZ MoBo Intel P4 3.0 GHz 1 GB Dual Channel DDR RAM 80GB Maxtor SATA HDD Chaintech GeForce 5700LE Now basically what happened was I upgraded my perfectly working system from a Nvidia MX440 to the Chaintech 5700LE card. I went into VGA mode with my MX440, uninstalled the drivers. Then, I reset my AGP Apature on my MoBo from 32MB to 128MB (you know, half of the video cards memory). Installed my new 5700LE, booted into VGA mode, installed the 6.6.9.3 Nvidia drivers, and did not restart my computer (wasn't prompting me to). However, I did anyway, and now after I get the XP boot screen with the scroll bar at the bottom, after that, PC goes black, and is unresponsive. Any ideas?
  2. \REG ADD %KEY%\022 /VE /D "Microsoft Anti-Spyware" /f REG ADD %KEY%\022 /V 1 /D "%PP%MSAntiSpyware\MicrosoftAntiSpywareInstall.msi /quiet /qn" /f that worked fine for me after all
  3. Quick question everyone. My cleanup.cmd batch file stays in my \install dir after XP is done building because I have some other programs that I don't auto-install. Is there a way to get rid of the cleanup.cmd?
  4. I am really sorry that I got some people's hopes up....I thought this would be a no brainer install...... .....things I did figure out that was wierd was if I used the same switches from the command line, the sw would install fine silently...just not with the RunOnceEX.cmd....that I find strange. Above all, I've only been doing this for 2 weeks...so I am still a noob.
  5. well...it did not install with the exe...trying the MSI next
  6. I haven't made a contribution to this great site, so I think this will be my first..... REG ADD %KEY%\022 /VE /D "Microsoft Anti-Spyware" /f REG ADD %KEY%\022 /V 1 /D "%PP%MSAntiSpyware\MicrosoftAntiSpywareInstall.exe /v/qn" /f I am going to try it in a minute, so I'll report back in about an hour. The silent switches I got out of the MS AS newsgroups....we'll see if it works or not. Download MS Anti_Spyware Beta Here
  7. ok, well, I decided to do a test build....and the Royale Theme installs beautifully..... this thread was no longer needed this was actually my problem: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...hl=inetsrv&st=0
  8. The other thing that has really been bugging me is that if you run the Royale.exe /? from a command prompt...I get a list of switches...but I can't figure out what language it is, so I can't get it translated
  9. So here goes.....for this forum, just wanted to let everyone know, thanks for all of the great info. I've gone from just wanting an up-to-date XP CD for rebuilds, to me going insane with the unattended install, I'm a junkie now. Anyways..... ....so like many others before me, I am in love with the Royale theme. I have read multiple posts, and multiple threads about this subject with having it install with XP be default. They way that I found it to work best for me is to have it run with the Hotfixes part of the installation. So it's currently in the i386\Updates directory, and in the svcpack.ing I have the Royale.exe /Q statement to install it. When I go through the install...I get a wierd dialog box stating where to unpack the files...and I don't know if this is the best way to do it...since I couldn't get previous ways to work correctly. Any ideas ladies and gentlemen?
  10. Thanks dude....I tell you...talk about a plethora of info in one site, it's great. I have brought this site to the attention of my fellow MCSE trainies, and we all love it!
  11. I just wanted to say that I have completly enjoyed the great information on this site. I found it looking how to slipstream XP SP2 into my OEM disk....and 3 weeks later, I have a full automated XP SP2 install w/ programs and settings. It's great! Friends and co workers are amazed how fast I picked this up....(not hard) but at any rate, thanks everyone! ~G
  12. I just realized I forgot the UnattendSwitch="yes" under [unattended]
  13. So yesterday I stumbled onto this site because I was bored. I have been playing around with unattended installs today, and things have gone well except for the fact the XP Welcome Screen still shows up. In my winnt.sif, I have this config (sample) [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=No OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=35 OemSkipWelcome=1 AutoLogon=Yes AutoLogonCount=1 Anyone have any idea about this? Thanks ~G
