cybpsych Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 war59315, it's difficult to download the ZIP package (timeout after 259KB download) ...
Incroyable HULK Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 First post updated...Anyone wants to take a guess at how many critical hotfixes will be necessary until Service Pack 3 is released?I'll say 84!
SwedenXP Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 (edited) Puuuh - this is a though job - I´m glad that You want to do it I don´t even know when SP3 will be released - but my guess is 93./ SwedenXP B)ps. this might be a good time for a "these are the necessary updates uptil now" - or? Edited August 9, 2006 by SwedenXP
Walchinc Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 (edited) Beware that all the hotfixes will not be included in the SP3 because they will a few months behind developing/finalising the new service pack. Therefore, more update will be needed after intergrating SP3 installing it from the CD. It would be nice to include all the the software from MS site into SP3.Never install SP3 after installing Windows because of the registry and conflction of file version . Just intergrade into the CD reformat the system and re-install it again. I will waiting for admin SP3 version of Windows XP Here are my August 2006 Updates Logs from MS site 3 hours of downloading with my laptopSP3 should be out on second semester 2007. RyanVM Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Actually, there was a decent gap of time between when SP2 was released and the first hotfixes for it started showing up.Also, don't forget that many fixes are being coded and tested many months prior to release. It's not much of a stretch to assume that updates being tested for future release are being included in betas of the SP as well.
