  2. Bump very old topics gives bad results. Please let this topic die and seach again. Generic Data1.cab never work for A. alone. There are other topics that use variations of this script. Work has been done up to AR7.0.8. Then Adobe gives us a tool for that... InstallShield Tuner 7.0 for Adobe Acrobat Now there is another tool: Adobe Customization Wizard 8 These tools obsoletes scripts like this.

And another one (win32k.sys) that is updated by something else. GL KB938829 is the NEW update. KB925902 is the OLD update, consist ONLY of gdi32.dll and should be removed. Tested safe to remove.

  10. Obsolete: NDP1.1sp1-KB886903-X86.exe Replaced by: NDP1.1sp1-KB928366-X86.exe
  11. Not so harmless: May also allow "harmless" critical updates instalation without user intervention. Version 3?: Why a V3 replaces not a V2 but an oldie never seen KB916089? 2 part?: Please note that this update is the first part of a two-part update that is the comprehensive solution to the problem. In June, another update will involve the Windows Update client. The update for the Windows Update client will also be automatically offered through Automatic Updates. IMMO if there is any doubt then there is no doubt. I was expecting something like this from M$. Will see what the 2nd part do this month (now)...

  15. WTF? Nobody else notice the new updates? Deja vu? 930178 Vulnerabilities in CSRSS Could Allow Remote Code Execution (930178) 931261 Vulnerability in Universal Plug and Play Could Allow Remote Code Execution (931261) 931784 Vulnerability in Windows Kernel Could Allow Elevation of Privilege (931784) Also replace KB929338 932168 Vulnerability in Microsoft Agent Could Allow Remote Code Execution (932168)
  16. Roger that. Also note that KB925902 requires 2 (two) reboots for dissapearing from the list of updates, and the error appears on first reboot, not the second. So maybe KB935448 isn't really required.
  17. 19. Never heard about those, maybe because I'm new to IE7 or not available in my language. Anyway I will not go any further with this OFF TOPIC chick chat.
  20. nope, KB929969 (VML) left out. And KB915865-v11 (alias xmllitesetup) still needed
  21. 1. Extract IE7 setup package Forgot code to extract because already extracted 2. Extract IE7-KB928090-WindowsXP-x86-esn.exe FOR %%I IN (*.exe) DO IF NOT EXIST %%~nI ECHO %%~nI&%%I /Q /X:%%~nI 3. Overwrite all files from KB928090 in IE7 with the same name. 4. Move on to update directory on both. 5. Copy kb928090-ie7.cat from KB928090\update to IE7\update 6. Merge contents of update.ver files. That is: entries with the same name from KB928090\update\update.ver replaces entries in IE7\update\update.ver 7. Some registry entries still should be added for KB928090 don't show up. Resulting update.ver and KB928090-IE7.inf registry entries attached (Spanish) KB928090_IE7.zip HIGHLY batchable, but don't wait for me... I did it by hand. Happy editing!
  22. Progress was done: Generic Data1.cab recompress, Automagically slim down Data1.cab based apps For Acrobat 7.0.8 some hack should be done for a missing file and trivial add of some registry entries. 7.0.9 I din't test yet
