Kpsa4 Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 According to this account has been terminated by MS and new one is here.

Sfor Posted July 26, 2024 Author Posted July 26, 2024 I do have saved KexSetup_Release_1_1_0_1291.exe and KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375.exe files. So, I did download KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375.exe again, then did "fc /b" command to compare both files. The files were identical. Well, the KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375.exe does not work correctly in 32bit systems, so I,m using older KexSetup_Release_1_1_0_1291.exe, instead. 1
TSNH Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 (edited) The original SHA-2 hash for KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375.exe is 652f6d2901c86de4a05743b5f808fafb6e28b9720c39bce5e7e031d26cac9035 And it matches with re uploads from commandcontrolQ and VxKex/VxKex commandcontrolQ stated that: Quote This is an archive of the VxKex repository from the user 'vxiiduu', whose account was deleted on the 21st of July 2024 for reasons currently unknown. I am not planning on maintaining VxKex any time soon, so I will be disabling the Issues page. The VxKex/VxKex one looks suspicious tho as it looks like it's baiting for donations in Bitcoin (which wasn't the case with the original release) and Readme is also heavily trimmed. If @vxiiduu re released the official version, they would have probably let us know here. Edited August 6, 2024 by TSNH change link to repo & github user name 3

I'll upvote tomorrow (I'm out of likes, they are limited). 4
Kpsa4 Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 The VxKex/VxKex now also removed. Here is another one and according to the description there the VxKex/VxKex was fake one. Too much mess around it unfortunately.

It's already quite a lot of posts that member made with dubious software and batch scripts, now this link to fake Kernel. 5
Tripredacus Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 So am I to understand there are currently 2 "fake" aka archived repos, and 1 original now deleted, and one scam now deleted?

Why does it matter, it's still a fake, too. I'd wait for official statements from the developer. He's a member here. Would you risk installing a fake kernel? I think, no. 4

All fakes, like the member above wrote. I'd also keep a close eye on this user @lll888. Before posting his fakes, he accused MSFN of being "almost dead" and hosting non-working projects.
