It seems that the file is missing.

I will contact the creator

I did some upgrades to the v4 site, then the owner just have to upload the new pages on the server.

It would be good if the original files could be hosted on a server. E.g. on Windows Server 2008

Great for you. I was actually testing it in my main OS (Windows 11 with Chrome version 99). I am trying it in a XP VM now.

Add the sites https://go.microsoft.com and http://go.microsoft.com to Trusted Sites and set the security level to high. Then add the WU site to the compatibility list.

Thanks, I added both sites to Trusted Sites and set the security level to High.

But, which WU site exactly to add to compatibility list? :dubbio:

I wonder if we could rehost this website on a website that does not require TLS 1.2, since v4 is mainly for 98, ME, and early 2000.

Then add this site to Trusted Sites as well.

Thank you very much, I did that, and now I am stuck in the same error as you when searching for updates:

@maile3241 I grabbed some files for Windows Update V4 for IIS, and it works, until it gets stuck at checking for the latest version of Windows Update software. it even installs the activex from 2002.

I always get this when I search.

i think the author says

"The site is NOT search for updates BUT I'm search the updates from MS Update Catalog. The site is still on a project. Some features may not available."
