Hello MSFN members! :D

We have released a completely new and revised version of the Prerequisites Installer, which will patch your system in order to use Windows Update Restored V5. This patch works on both x86 and x64 systems, and supports Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Server 2003 only. Here's a link to the download page: https://windowsupdaterestored.com/en/downloads/wurv5patchertool.htm.

80072EFE in Windows XP x64 (Japanese Ver, WURV5)

It seems that you have an 0x80072EFE error code.
This means Windows Update can't properly connect to the server.
Did you used our patcher in any case? If that's the case, the patcher hasn't been properly installed probably.

Hello! This page is part of Windows Update V4, and uses an ActiveX control, thus making it impossible to work in browsers other than Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Hi, to everyone that's still following us on MSFN.

As of February 16 2025, here's what we have to do, to get the project out of its current idle state;

- Find out how to make our own V2/V3.1 inventories;

- Revise the V4 inventories for 98/98SE/Me;

- Get the Internet Explorer categories to show up on V4;

- Get V4 to work on XP;

- Complete our collection of Windows Service Packs and IE installers;

Find missing files and try to collect more logs using the tool I made (https://www.windowsupdaterestored.com/en/downloads/wurinvchecker.htm).

This is very important. There currently is not much work done on WUR, and most of these steps will require a lot of time and effort to get them working. If you think you can help us, be sure to let me know! :D
