Monroe Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 sdfox7 For some reason only the Shockwave full version seems to work on my setup. Years ago I tried the slim version but it didn't seem to work so I just use the "full version". dencorso ... thanks for the explanation and the link. So when I see that File Hippo has a new Shockwave full version ... I will just download it from the link you provided.... 2
Acheron Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Instead of the exe installer I prefer the Shockwave msi installer: sw_lic_full_installer.msi 1
Monroe Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Acheron ... I will also save your msi download link. I already have the current version installed from October but I decided to download the version again from both the DL links provided by you and dencorso. I really have never downloaded from msi links ... just exe links. I noticed that the two downloads are different in size. The "exe" download is 12.5 mb and the "msi" download is 23.6 mb ... was curious why that is the case? Both downloads should be identical once installed ... a full version of Shockwave? Thanks...

Monroe Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) bwcat, I don't have that file on my computer ... Director MX 2004 Compatible update Files for 10.4 in the System32\Macromed\Shockwave 10 folder ... there is no Shockwave 10 folder in the Macromed folder ... just a Flash folder only. I guess because I only use the Shockwave exe download that this is the case. When I go to a Shockwave test page ... it shows I have Shockwave installed. A flash and shockwave test page ... click on System Details on the left side. https://www.explorelearning.com/index.cfm?method=cCorp.dspTest Test Your System This page helps you determine if your system has the basic hardware and software needed to run Gizmos. Your system meets all of our recommended requirements. You should be able to run Gizmos! System Details I went to another Shockwave test page ... Adobe and it says there is a new Shockwave version available. Adobe Shockwave Player Version 12.2.2.172 It's not at File Hippo yet so I don't know if it's already at the exe and msi links.... dencorso Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 Sure! You're right and it's official! It's already available here: sw_lic_full_installer.exe as the non-adware English EXE version...

sdfox7 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) I just wanted to announce that Adobe Flash Player 20 is available. This is the first time there is a different version number for the Google Chrome/Internet Explorer and Firefox/Opera builds. Google Chrome and Internet Explorer utilize 20.0.0.228, while non-ActiveX plug-in based browsers such as Firefox and Opera use 20.0.0.235. I have confirmed it works on XP SP2 and SP3 systems. You can download each one here (Chrome has it built in, no separate download necessary): Internet Explorer:http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/20.0.0.228/install_flash_player_ax.exe Firefox and other plug-in based browsers: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/20.0.0.235/install_flash_player.exe Edited December 13, 2015 by sdfox7 1
Acheron Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) Hi sdfox7. It is good to know if there are different versions released for Chrome, IE, Firefox and other browsers, but it is not the first time in the history of the Adobe Flash Player. I have seen a difference in version numbering last year, when Adobe released 12.0.0.38 for activex and 12.0.0.43 for npapi plugins. And in 2013 Adobe released 11.8.800.174 and 11.8.800.175 for activex only. Edited December 13, 2015 by Acheron
sdfox7 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Hi sdfox7. I have seen a difference in version numbering last year, when Adobe released 12.0.0.38 for activex and 12.0.0.43 for npapi plugins. And in 2013 Adobe released 11.8.800.174 and 11.8.800.175 for activex only. Thanks for the heads-up on that, I was not aware. It seems that they are more often consistent with the version scheme. The important thing about this release is that it patches 79 security holes!
ChiefZeke Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Latest beta: FlashPlayer20_0_0_255_beta_Plugin and FlashPlayer20_0_0_255_beta_ActiveX and FlashPlayer20_0_0_255_beta_Pepper and Shockwave12_2_2_172_Full
j7n Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 However, this ability the FF team has of blocking things suddenly from their side is surely annoying, to say the least! In Firefox, I have set this option to run any plugin version: extensions.blocklist.enabled . This setting is non-discoverable, buried deep in about:config, and seems to pertain to scripted 'extensions' and not binary plugins (searching for 'plugin' would yield nothing, and I can only learn about this option after I search on the web). Firefox 27 and Flash 11.4 still working fine. All video sites and casual vector games still work in this Flash. Macromedia has put out 5 major versions of it withing in one year. Omg, the bandwidth that's wasted on those updates... I was seriously upset when I updated to a recent version of Opera (Opium), and it blocked my version of Flash. I was unable to find a setting, hidden or otherwise, to control this beahavior. Opera is not the controllable, power-user's version of Chrome I hoped it would be.
