Thanks for ther Beta 2. Unfortunately, it is still not working on my dual-display configuration (same issues as before):

- Second display is completely black when I start windows 8.1

- If I start e.g. firefox that previously was displayed on my second display, the window is not shown at all

- If I move any window from main display to second display, the window "washes" the black and flickers all the time but it is not displayed at all or not correctly displayed

Again, I don't know if this is relevant:

- main monitor 1920x1080 (nativ)

- second monitor rotated 90 CWW using 1200x1600 (nativ)

Aero Glass for Win8.1 Beta 2

Working now on two monitors, nice and fast, works perfectly with my favorite theme atlas...

What can I say? You're good, BigMuscle.

I'll let you know if I find anything wrong, but so far it's running fine.

I wish this website worked as well with Windows 8.1 and IE11.

I installed beta 2 on a fresh 8.1 system today and managed to get it working; but on a three-monitor system, I only got a picture on two of the monitors (no2 and no3, where no2 is the main screen). Screen no1 remained black.

Thanks for the update. On Beta 2, I still have problems with my second monitor. Similar symptoms as last time however, instead of having an after image of what was last displayed on the second monitor, it is just black. I can still see mouse pointer on it.

Thanks for the update. On Beta 2, I still have problems with my second monitor. Similar symptoms as last time however, instead of having an after image of what was last displayed on the second monitor, it is just black. I can still see mouse pointer on it.

It is still loading Beta 1, bu looking at your debug. To replace it with Beta 2, first remove it from regedit and restart, rplace the files with the new one and add the registry settings again and restart.

Oh, and for what it's worth, you don't need to go through a big production involving the registry to install these files if you already have beta 1...

Just RENAME the old files that are about to be overwritten, then copy the new ones out of BigMuscle's .7z file, then either close the DWM window or log off/on.

Dual Monitor second screen BLACK & WORKAROUND!

I installed Beta2 and still experienced the same BLACK screen on the second monitor. This is what I did to get the second monitor to work.

1. I decided to install the Beta AMD Catalyst™ 13.11 Beta 6 Driver for Windows® Last Updates: 10/25/2013.

My setup involved having my computer monitor (Shown as Software Display #2) as the Primary monitor (DVI/SVGA @ 1920 x 1200) and my HDTV w/sound (Shown as Software Display #1) (HDMI @ 1920 * 1080).

I went to Screen resolution and selected the HDMI TV and checked "Make This my main display" when it was black.

To my amazement, when I clicked Apply button, both displays came to life and Aero settings are back as I had them with Windows 8.0. and work on both monitors.

If I select Monitor #2 as the primary display, it goes back to the black screen on the HDTV (Monitor 1) again.

I moved the primary taskbar over to monitor #2 and moved my Gadgets over there and the only downside right now is that I must have the TV turned on to log into windows.

I would be more than happy to privide any logging or test anything to help correct this issue.

I had the same problem my second monitor is my TV not work great with this mod. No matter that this is the beta 1 or 2, I have uninstall aero glass for now and it works well. Waiting for new version!

I did a few more tests with beta2 and got very interesting results:

1) Aero Glass doesn't work at all if the second display is rotated 90° or in any other orientation than standard (inverted, 90 CW, 90 CCW) ->black screen

2) If I choose normal orientation (non rotated) for my second display (nvidia settings), following occours:

2a) If I set the 2nd display on the right of the main display (nvidia settings), aero glass works on both displays

2b) if I set the 2nd display on the left of the main display (nvidia settings and my display position in the room), the 2nd display goes black and aero glass doesn't work on it -> black screen

3) as also on beta1, aero glass always works if both displays are set as "clone"

I hope this helps you track down the issue. Tell me if you need some more tests

The resolution set on each displays doesn't seem to be the problem (I tried same and different resolutions) but the display orientation and position set for the 2nd monitor

It's probably the way aeroglass calculates the coordinates, so when one of the monitors is to the left from the primary monitor, something messes up.
