  3. The WAIK for Windows 7 is the latest, even though it was released in 2009. The link is here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5753 There was no update to the WAIK for Windows 7 SP1.

While Aero is supported by my video card (at work) I had similar problems with Windows display after a period of time, however none of these problems happen if I switch to Classic mode. I think that Windows 7 will allow the user to use Aero for any video card with at least 128MB VRAM, even if the card itself can't 100% handle the transparencies, transitions and other effects.
  5. Better than 7PRO, no, capable of things beyond what is possible without modding? Yes.
  6. Tony Bacala - Senseless Violence
  7. On some motherboards, chipset heatsinks are held in place by metal braces, but those are held down by plastic clips. Check to see if any of your heatsinks are loose too.
  8. There is usually a checkbox to include sub folders. What OS are you using?
  9. Not really concerned with that window opening. Techs will only see it, never the end-user.
  10. Watched Tron last night for the first time ever. Great sound.
  11. Make sure that you aren't disabling cookies or Javascript in those other browsers that aren't working.
  12. Try installing this? http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8483
  13. It would help to post more information. Namely, here is Error Code 43's description: What driver is installed? You can find details for it on the Details tab. What is the Hardware ID? You can find this in the dropdown on the Advanced Tab. Will look like PCI\VEN_xxxx&DEV_xxxx or PID_ or VID_ naming. Did you install the BT driver from Dell's website for this computer?
  14. I've got Memento on my list. I'm a big movie collector and what at least 3-4 a week. I did watch Falling Down recently, although my last one was Panic Room.
  15. Withered Earth - Crowning
  16. It appears that the Themes setting is ignored by sysprep, but will work if you use it in an Autounattend.xml and using WES7e Setup. As a work-around, I created a .theme file, and added the following to my EXE I run in FirstLogonCommands: ShellExecute ( "c:\downloads\CustomTheme.theme" ) The only downside is that you need to close the Personalization window after the image boots but that is a fine price to pay.
  17. To be specific, there are no "jumpers" already on a SATA drive, but they do have pins where one could be placed. Here is a picture example I found, you can see the pins here: http://www.vpsems.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Sata-hard-drive.jpg Some drives like SeaGate and Toshiba (and other notebook sized drives) also have pins, but look like this instead: http://www.pacificgeek.com/productimages/xl/MK8034GSX-R.jpg http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~chsmith/Clunk/Seagate%20Sata.jpg
  18. I had a similar problem with a friend's notebook. We had taken it apart and tested it out and found that the DC connector on the power board was not showing the correct reading. After purchasing a new one (and getting someone to replace the part) we tested again and the power levels were correct, however the problem was not solved. We found that the problem existed even further into the circuit as well, but the choice of buying a new board vs risking component replacement came down to price vs risk and neither was worth it. You problem may or may not be the same, but it could be as easy as replacing the DC connector. They can be had fairly cheap on eBay, however you'll also need to be comfortable working with lead-free soldering, which requires a lot more heat than your standard stuff you'd buy at a Radio Shack.
  19. If anything, a built in way for the installer to uninstall an already installed program would only (probably) an older Norton 360 product. Anything else, you are going to have to script it yourself.
  20. I had used Fireworks in CS4 last year and found it had barely any noticeable differences except for the GUI. I'm not even sure why Adobe decided to keep it around.

  23. I used this one over the first. The reason being is that I had thought that Wikipedia would use a more recent signature over the one he used in the earlier work, but I was wrong. Fortunately for me, Wikipedia will always want you to save an SVG as a PNG, not to say I am without skill in SVG, but editing it makes it easier. Fireworks opens this with a transparent background, which is preferable over the other version. As you can probably tell, I had modified the color of the signature. But you may notice it isn't exactly the same color as the other green, being the parts of the face and the German text. This is because i guestimated it using the Hue/Saturation filter. First, I knew that the image was too large for a signature, so I used an image resize on it. At first I did a whole resize, and then used Transform to my liking. As for getting rid of the white background, no tracing was involved. Since the image was so large, it was likely originally some other format, which seemed to be true. I merely used the magic wand with some varied levels of tolerance to remove the white. And of course, don't forget the "select similar" which doesn't always work but did in this case. As far as the unused images, this is common in my work on building an image. I will take in multiple different images before determining what i use. In this case, I felt it fine to leave these un-used resources in my post to show you them. It is only because at first I developed the image list before I actually got a look at everything and got an idea. The background was removed prior to shrinking the image, as outlined above. The Gesellschaft used glow at 5 height, 87% opacity, 12 softness, 0 offset. The signature has different settings as it didn't need as much to stand out. You can do what you want with the image. That's why I made it. My approach is to do it by accident at first, and not be able to recreate it at a later time if I tried, because I've forgotten how I did it. As noted in previous placed (although I was initially mistaken about how PNGs work) I use Fireworks MX 2004. I have uploaded the source file, which can be opened in (at least) this version of Fireworks and retain all layers. It could possibly be opened in Fireworks 2 (I've had some success at backwards compatibility, but I'm too lazy *myself* to boot up Shiva). http://i579.photobucket.com/albums/ss236/tpx_bst/Designs/Untitled-1.png
  24. As far as a signature goes, I made it within the signature limits we allow here. It would probably look better with a dark skin tho, since I can't really see the border.
