  2. Um... over 350 million Windows 7 licenses have been sold since launch, which includes 175 million from 09/2011 through 12/2011. I'm not too sure about exact iPad numbers, but an estimated 48 million iPads sold in 2011. So maybe you meant some other Microsoft product, let alone everything the company sells.
  3. Your duplicate topics have been removed.
  4. Well its normal for people to blow off steam, but they definately shouldn't be doing it when you are there!
  5. Did you try adding one for TCP or UDP? Try adding one of the other types and see if that makes a difference.
  6. Of course this won't make a difference if you are using an answer file with setup!
  7. This user has posted a tool here as well (gDISM or Windows Ultimater maybe) but that topic has since been removed. Either way, this topic (although may be short lived) isn't for this forum.
  8. I have added it to this thread: You can also subscribe to the topic with no notification set so that you can easily find it again if needed.
  9. Well it isn't a problem if the bootmgr screen comes up. If it appears because of a problem, it would say that. For example, if it was for an improper shutdown, it would say something to that effect. Does this screen show up every time you turn on the notebook? As far as the keyboard not working at that point, it is entirely possible that the keyboard device is not enumerated at that point. Or if it is on the USB bus, the USB might not fully work at that point, but its hard to say that for sure. Does the keyboard work after going into Windows? How about the BIOS can you get to there? You may find advanced topics to change the default timeout to something shorter than the 25 seconds you're waiting at the bootmgr screen.
  10. I can't get to that website. Are you adding a new rule to the Outbound Rules in the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security?

  12. That's the thing. Social networking fools you into thinking it replaces real life. Friends on facebook, while they may be avatars of people you actually know, are just connections. They are the equivalent to acquaintances in real life. You aren't deleting a friendship, you are deleting an online connection. For example, I have IRL friends that aren't on facebook, so that they couldn't be facebook friends. They couldn't be added or deleted. So how does that non-facebook person relate to a facebook person? They are the same, but the connection they have on a website is really meaningless. I even have friends on facebook that I have not added to the list. What then?
  13. Yes, make sure not to have duplicate entries tho. I don't know how setup will react to that.
  14. Anonymous hasn't stopped showing their faces. Besides:
  15. It looks like the support for either of these bills has fallen through.
  16. I see what you mean. It may also come down to the monitor and settings I use and see it differently. But to each his own.
  17. Sounds like you want to measure the per-interface data usage?
  18. I don't think motherboards care what speed NIC it has in it. If you decide to get Gigabit (there is absolutely no reason why you'd want 10/100 really) then make sure the speed is the same across all NICs. Do not introduce any 10/100 into that network (especially if you want to have good performance) unless you end up getting managed switches with Link Aggregation. As far as a USB 3 comparison, I can't help you there.
  19. Well we'll just have to see how it ends up. It might come down to in 10 years, I'll be in the Windows 7 forum all the time (like the Win98 guys are in their forum) and the new guys will be like "Y U USE OLD OS?" to me.
  20. If they are that important and you feel they should be instituted company wide, then they should be added to the domain GPOs rather than the local system. The reason for this is that it is easier to manage those settings. Say there is a problem down the road, the domain admin can easily disable that setting for testing, or even so create an OU for a pilot group that doesn't have that setting enabled/disabled.
  21. Deleting everything wouldn't make the drive disappear from the BIOS. What model notebook is it? Have you checked the SATA setting? Some notebooks have an option for RAID, and if it is set to that, it can (sometimes) not show up in the BIOS as it normally would. If you are feeling industrious, you could reseat the hard drive.

  23. I've noticed many typos or Engrish in BIOS screens. So I'll make this thread so people can report what ones they find. Here is the latest one, from a Clevo W170HR Battery Low Alart Beep
  24. Well maybe we should get on the same page regarding this term "manual restart." An unexpected shutdown, such as removing all power from a booted OS, or holding down the power button to make it turn "instant-off" will cause Windows Boot Manager to come up on the next boot up. However, if your use of manual restart means restarting through the normal means ie letting Windows handle it, then no this shouldn't come up by default. How often do you get the beeps? How many beeps are there?
  25. For your ellipse layer, is it possible to change that into a gradient that has no color in the middle to make up for the problem with the gray color appearing over the white?
