  2. Probably UserJS on Opera8+ could do it.
  3. You may not get much of replies for a tech Q in general discussion. Moving topic to "Windows XP" section....
  4. Happy 27th kel! Enjoy your b'day...
  5. Those FDDs are messy!Virtual Floppy Drive (VFD) is far more convenient & faster (use alongwith WinImage). link1 link2 link3 link4
  6. I see a problem with this switch (what does it do? did you mean to have it as, "start /wait filename.exe" instead?): And yes, the switches for the actual install seem too little - maybe SAV runs into problems with the liveupdate? And finally, do some testing. Try installing from that file at a command-line when windows is running in normal mode. Does it complain of missing/corrupted files?
  7. Thats coz the value for taskbar is not written to registry till you log-off.You should make the desired changes, reboot once, then export that key. @rikgale: I see that the reg_binary value for "taskbar", contains %username% & folder paths. So would it work only for the current user? or does it adjust accordingly, when applied to a different user ID?
  8. Dont worry, text-mode will be extinct soon. Vista starts setup directly with a GUI!
  9. Yup, RTM is release to manufacturing (i.e., OEMs). If officials at MS are to be believed, Vista will RTM around July 2006.
  10. You know.... This release (v4.31) is somehow worse than the previous stable release (v4.23). I found that archiving any set of files, the result seems to be larger by approximately 10% (compared to previous version). But its much faster now.
  11. I second that - we NEED a ranking system. It encourages people to post, which is necessary to keep the board active. The current system is good - people try to make useful posts to reach their next star.... And the spammers just get bored soon anyway - its not easy to spam on a tech-stuff forum. Yes, posting more does not fetch a reward for the person - but it helps to keep the forum fresh & new. And rarely, when some people do go on a posting spree, we can manage it anyways!
  12. Nokia PC Suite is a package of Windows-based PC applications developed especially for use with Nokia phones. Depending on your phone model, it lets you synchronize, edit, and back up many of your phone's files on a compatible PC through a wireless or cable connection. 13. Well, here's the results of my test: Ran VMware 5.5 on WinXP Pro x64 (host OS). Hardware - nForce 4 MoBo, Sempron 2500+ (socket 754, palermo core), 512 MB RAM. Guest OSes installed: WinXP Home (32-bit) WinXP Pro (32-bit) WinXP Pro (64-bit) Windows Server 2003 (x64 edition) So yes, the AMD 754 does run 64-bit OSes fine, in VMware 5.5
  14. I know one thing for sure. On my nForce4 board, with all drivers manually integrated (using OemPnpDriversPath method), I see no problems at all, everything runs stable. So it should mean, nVidia drivers are fine, maybe the DP is accidentally stumbling somewhere, or something else is conflicting. I integrated: nVidia ForceWare 81.95 nVidia nForce drivers v8.22 (which contains drivers for ethernet, SMbus, SATA/RAID, IDE) I can confirm that its fine on both, XP Home (32-bit), and XP Pro (x64).
  15. WS2k3-SP1 has an old version of DirectX 9.0c. You probably need the october refresh of 9c. The SP1 doesn't have anything to do with this, by itself.
  16. FYI, that build is a bit older than firefox 1.5The 1.5 build that you see today, is further along the dev-trunk, than deer-park-a2. Opera's had this since v6.x - in other words, I've been enjoying it since back when firefox was not even born - 2001 - 4 years.
  17. Ummm..... better, faster, safer.... as compared to what? Hopefully you dont mean as compared to RC3! If you are an existing firefox user, then you should know that its the same build since 3 weeks. The final is the same as RC3, & its build-date is 11th November 2005, as the about box says.
  18. Congrats! Enjoy your day.....

  20. You dont need to slip-stream XP's SP2 or Svr2k3's SP1 - as both of those are for 32-bit OSes. The 64-bit version of XP & Svr2k3, already has it both. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&sho...ndpost&p=426130
  21. You do know that its illegal, dont you?
