  1. Umm okay, the probabilities are immense! Whether its xpde/kde/whatever comes after the question1 below! But rather, first we'd like to know if its linux at all. And if its linux, why aint they saying so!!!!
  2. Could be, but xpde is still in alpha-stage! No real functionality other than the "on the surface" tasks.... They probably use KDE 3.5 that can be made to look like XP. But rather, first we'd like to know if its linux at all. And if its linux, why aint they saying so!!!!
  3. Hi benmandude, This would normally be construed a warez topic - which is not allowed. Please see forum rules. * topic closed
  4. Now... whats this AX5? :S Another linux distro? Or a whole new OS?
  5. Thanks! Its indeed true - I had an nForce2+AthlonXP 2400+ previously, and it over-clocked very well! But the current Sempron64 just seems to flip out even with a slight over-clock! Like you said, I suspect that the RAM could be the culprit. But still just checking, whats the max that anyone here over-clocked their sempron64?
  6. UPDATE: release 22 is out now. http://nds2.nokia.com/files/support/global...l_22_eng_us.msi (15.2 MB)
  7. Yes, it will give you an *.MST file. Which you then use with Office-shrinker.
  8. Shark007, please tone down the above. atomizer, that article is all very well, but the fact is that it comes under a category called spreading <fear, uncertainty, doubt>. Pretty much everything in there, is presented by the author in an exaggerated manner. And no, Zxian wasn't directing any comments at you, so have no mis-conceptions. All comments here, are criticism for the article, not for the poster! As for the article itself, MS is not quite THAT evil either! They do have an obligation to make a profit, but the situation is not like what the article makes it out to be.
  9. Article is just FUD!
  10. Use the CIW from ORK2003. Then use Office-shrinker. Thats as simple as it gets.
  11. Yes, it does have such tools. See this page - Office 2003 : Resource Kit That will install a tools for a range of purposes. And if you are looking to reduce the size of Office2003 installer, then look here - Office Shrinker
  12. Lets have a measure of what cooling systems are in use on the forum! Also post your temperatures! Vote in the poll! Whats your stats? As for temperatures (and to find out a lot more about your PC), you can use this app: Everest - Features | download | screenshots
  13. The AMD Sempron64 2500+ (socket 754, Rev. E6) runs at a native frequency of 1.4 GHz. People claim to have pushed it up to 2.2 GHz!!!!! With just the normal heatsink/fan, and an nForce4 MoBo, any idea how far it can go? It flips out on me, for the most part.... (previously, AthlonXP's used to over-clock very well, with FSB going up all the way to 231 MHz!)
  14. Ok then, i add "orphaned wont-fix-because-it-affects-ppl-only-rarely bugs" to the list (incidentally, thats the MS style, which led to today's situation of IE6 being cursed) Here's quoting myself from another site that I visit, it did turn out to be true... Over the next few days, all the forums I frequent will be flooded with illiterate fanboys that haven't understood the portion in red...
  15. And thus begins, the long march of firefox into the arena of bugs & work-arounds & "released-too-early"s....
  16. NT & Win2k has been pulled out of retail channel already (even before stopping MSDN access)!
  17. A lot of thought went into that post! And pan-handler with a mansion in florida? wow.... Hoping to be HALF as fortunate!
  18. Becoming more & more true with every release of MS software...They keep getting closer to the unix way of doing things.
  19. I agree.
  20. Umm.... Thats what he said. Searching for drivers, & building your own, is what freaks out a lot of people on Linux.
  21. heh, not many fanboys here. the majority of the members on this forum are rational, intelligent people - which is what draws me. As for myself, I am neither MS-oriented, nor a linux-fanatic. I believe I'm sufficiently deep into both, and choose the appropriate platform depending on the task.
  22. I do have a DVD-ROM & writer as well.Gonna get a Pioneer BD-R (blu-ray disc- 25 GB) writer soon too. But not everybody can afford what you & I can. @natan770: Either that, or a reboot!
  23. Obviously, nobody at this forum are willing to anything but flame other users. If you really don't have anything to contribute with, go take a cup of coffee and read the newspaper instead!!!!!!He wasn't flaming you.Anyways, dont expect much from a BETA os! It will work under the conditions that it was meant to. All unexpected conditions are explicitly assumed to not work, thats what a beta is about, anyways! So either wait some more time till Vista reaches public release, or try out Vista in a Virtual-Machine.
  24. Ummm.... What they know or DONT know apart, its fact that Vista is scheduled for a July 2006 RTM. XP SP3 coming out before or after that, doesn't matter both ways.
