  1. Homepage - http://www.firemonger.org/en/ list of whats in the package download This is pretty good - if you have a neighbour or friend who you KNOW is suffering with IE, give them this CD & let them see for themselves why firefox is good for them!No more endless convincing, let the action do the talking.
  2. I agree. Even if it was possible to delete your own account, I would want to disable that ability! Anyways, its possible to delete members, just ask an admin to do it if you want (ask xper).
  3. As far as I know, firefox does have UTF-8 & unicode support. Is this feed problem only for those who run win9x OSes, or those with XP/2k as well ?
  4. I was just thinking over this idea that a friend suggested.... Plenty of our members have high-end PCs & experiment with their hardware a lot. Why not have a place for them on MSFN - with info, tools, techniques, etc. Probably a forum called "Over-clocking" in "Hardware Hangout" ?
  5. lol, nice.... Keep it coming guys!
  6. Do you love your daily tea or coffee? Or swear by an energy drink like Red-Bull, or soft-drinks as Coca-Cola/Pepsi. Death by Caffeine How much of your favorite caffeinated drink would it take to kill you? Take this quick test and find out: http://www.energyfiend.com/death-by-caffeine/ ------------------------------------------ Here's what it says: That many at once? lol, Downing so many cups is a distant thought, can I afford to buy that many in the first place?
  7. Nopes The deleted mails weren't really of the "important" category. They were more of "probably interesting enough to check out later" kind of stuff. And also some sent/received mails back from the first day I got Gmail. Anyways, I guess I'm coming to terms with the fact that those mails are gone. But the big deal wasn't that the mails got deleted! What I was concerned about, is that atleast they could have sent a notice saying that trash is now going to be cleared out (so that I could archive any of the useful old-time mails), despite its status being "beta". Sudden decisions, tentacles in every niche, power over millions of people..... Monopoly anyone?
  8. Oh nice... BTW, the policies are almost the same before & after SP2.
  9. Please clarify! Do you mean, you want to dual-boot both? Then of course its possible (if your Sempron3000+ is a 64-bit piece). But then, I dont see how that post is relevant in a VMware thread. Do you mean to ask, whether you can run a 64-bit guest OS, in your 32-bit host OS?
  10. Thanks cluberti Just wishing things could have been simpler though...
  11. Yes, that does work perfectly.Follow the same method, whether its for 1-line or 2-line taskbar.
  12. Does anyone have any idea if this processor should be fine for 64-bit guest OS? AMD Athlon64 3700+ 1 MB L2 cache, 2.2 GHz 754-pin, C-G core
  13. SFX is good in fact. One, it reduces cluttered files & directories going to more than 8 depths. Two, its easier - just execute it, and its done! Three, it reduces size - I have about 40 custom *.LNK files which I extract into %allusersprofile%\StartMenu - and it went down from 300 KB to 104 KB.
  14. CD is far more compatible. Not everybody wants to use a DVD, for the reason that the ppl whom they give discs, might not have dvd-rom drives. Or just plainly CD is small & cute & low-cost!
  15. This topic is not suited in tips'n'tweaks, did u read the description of the forum before posting? * moving topic to Windows XP section Anyways, what you're wanting already exists in windows XP! This is what you should do for more security: 1. Ensure all partitions (C:, D:, E:, etc) are NTFS. 2. Ensure all accounts other than your own, are non-admin, limited accounts.
  16. * Moving topic to right section
  17. Nopes. No way to do so. If you detailed in more words, as to what exactly you need, then probably we could tell ways to get it done.
  18. Yup, old mails did not ever get deleted all these days. And that was the reason I was comfortable with leaving mails in the trash. computerMan: Better take a look now, to see whether your old mails in trash have been cleared out too!!
  19. It seems Gmail decided to take out the garbage - forcibly. I normally access email thru POP3. Logged into Gmail webUI today, and imagine my shock when I suddenly found I was using far less space than I remember having used the last time (it'd been 2 months since I logged into web-interface). The previous time, I had been using like 1200-odd MB of space, out of 2650 MB. And today it showed only 250 MB as "occupied" space. The first thought was, does mail in "trash" not count towards your mailbox anymore? But the nightmare was yet to come. I looked at some new mails in the Inbox, then went to the trash folder..... where I saw.... NOTHING !!!!!!!!!! WTF ?? It had all my mails that I ever received - right since August 2004. I had left them in there, as Gmail did not seem to empty the trash automatically. Many of the super-ancient mails in there were mails that I'd wanted to look into, at some point in the future. But they decided to empty out a year-and-a-half's worth of treasures without even notifying me about the step! My 32,000 mails - GONE!!!!! Further blog-postings about this: Gmail deletes trash Google does some cleaning with Gmail mailboxes
  20. Well, it does happen. People discuss a few things, then move to the next level. At which point a fresh set of ppl come in each year, and start from the beginning again. It'd then be the responsibility of veterans, to keep the info accessible, and of the others, to search for it! Oh well, thats life.... BTW, that tutorial you linked to, is newer than this topic by rikgale, so he hasn't repeated your topic....
  21. The october refresh is what MS recommends. All-in-ones can mess up your system files.
  22. Darn! I have just about bought a ShaderModel 3.0 card, and was hoping it would stay the top standard for some time atleast.... Now looks like I'm again on an obsolete card, grrrr....
  23. This version cant be slip-streamed into the WS2k3+SP1 CD. Just install it normally, it will replace the old files.
  24. Of course the additional icons would not show up!C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick LaunchThats the path where your quick-launch icons are stored - as files, not as registry items. Since you're using XP, put in the quicklaunch icons in this path on the CD (create necessary folders): $OEM$\$Docs\Default User\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick LaunchOr better yet, make a winrar SFX (exe) which will extract silently (execute it during cmdlines) to this path: %appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch And btw, druiddk is right. itsme_4ucz was trying to run the cmdlines command via runonceEX - which is impossible. Why? Because cmdlines runs at T-12 (12 mins left to complete setup), & runonceex will run at first-boot (only AFTER setup is fully completed). So logically, itsme_4ucz is trying to get into the future & carry out tasks supposed to be run in the past! In any case, runonceEX.cmd also is meant to be applied by cmdlines itself. Because runonceex, is basically a method to import tasks & keep it dormant in registry till the next boot. I run it from cmdlines too. Thanks, you convinced me that it auto-configures usernames!
