Yes the PC4000 will run on your system. But why would you waste cash on it, you might as well get normal PC3200 memory instead. In any case, as mentioned above, going for 2 GB on a Socket-A would be useless. There is Socket-AM2 coming soon from AMD, with dual-core processors & DDR2 memory support. So if you do upgrade to a newer system, all of your 2 GB will still be a waste, you'll have to throw it away & buy new RAM sticks.

I like dk10 mainly since the pro premium edition supports XPx64 & integrates into computer management. For all other purposes, I still prefer dk9 & thats what I run on 32bit XP. dk10 still needs a major refining of the UI (& this is admitted by diskeeper corp themselves) - its totally unusable on any resolution less than 1280x1024.

[HELP] How ti make a little pause
prathapml replied to ripley_jack's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
Example: start /wait setup1.exe ping -n 11 127.0.0.1>nul | Echo sleeping 10 seconds start /wait setup2.exeThat will pause for 10 seconds (the number 11 is because it has to be one unit more than the number of seconds to pause). -
All-In-One Sidebar - Firefox Extension

Yup, page info is something both opera & IE lack, its really useful! -
Which RAID is yours? Some raid controllers are software-based & so need drivers.

All-In-One Sidebar - Firefox Extension
prathapml replied to DigeratiPrime's topic in Software Hangout
Amazing thing is, every single one of opera features ported over to firefox (as extensions) have been well-received by the community, but still they hate opera! If firefox becoming like opera is SUCH a good thing, then why not use the REAL deal instead? Why not use opera itself? -
Indeed, http://www.easy-sharing.com seems in some way better than rapidshare.

Sempron64 2500+ : any idea how high it can be pushed up?
prathapml replied to prathapml's topic in Hardware Hangout
Thats great, thanks! It really gave me the confidence to fiddle with the frequencies without worrying the proc wud die! Here's my results: It turns out that the proc rocks, the culprit WAS the memory, after all! After a few hours of experimenting, what I have settled on is a stable (hopefully) speed of 1925 MHz. I'm still testing it, but basically what succeeded was, I had to push down the HyperTransport bus to 600 MHz (3x) & Memory to 133 MHz (PC2100, because its normal operation of DDR400 would make it soar beyond its specifications). And then I kept increasing the FSB from the BIOS by one MHz each time (for newcomers: this is important, else you miss the exact stable point). For example, for me 280 MHz FSB was VERY stable but 281 was not. My multiplier is locked at 7x & DRAM/FSB ratio locked too, at 11. And the overall clock-speed increase is a whopping 38%, from 1.4 GHz to 1.925 GHz (i.e., 525 MHz). Due to pushing up FSB, here's what diagnostic tools say: FSB - from 200 to 275 MHz => CPU clock - 1925 MHz (its detected as a Sempron 3200+ now! ) Memory Bus - from 133 to 175 MHz (resulting in 2800 MBps mem bandwidth, lesser than DDR400, but its okay) HyperTransport - from 600 to 825 MHz I even tried setting the HT bus at 2x (400 MHz), & pushing FSB higher. But it did not work, my RAM modules are to blame (or my mobo?). The max I could go was 279 MHz - after that, windows would refuse to even display the login screen (or if it did, wud crash during testing, with a blue-screen). I could not touch the 2.0 GHz mark. Temperatures of mobo & proc seem okay, but only one worry in the end of all this. My hard-disk is showing VERY high temps since I finished OC'ing. Can an OC affect the HD too? What can I do to cool the disk down? Help please? Thanks to puntoMX too! -
Can SBS 2003 be splipstream with all updates?
prathapml replied to theCream's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
Yes -
Well, he is probably bound by contract to not reveal internal findings. But I do know that I've seen NOD32 unstable sometimes. Also, its quite a decent AV, but I hope they clean up the interface/settingsUI though - its messy currently. @saugatak: Ah, thanks for checking it out! I did not have NOD32 installed, and cluberti seems to have FORGOT that he could simply post a taskmanager scrshot of nod32 & SAV10, for proof.

Sempron64 2500+ : any idea how high it can be pushed up?
prathapml replied to prathapml's topic in Hardware Hangout
Tried it today. Same story again, windows files get corrupt when I push up speeds. Even after reducing the HT bus! My old AthlonXP used to over-clock much better So either processor (Sempron64) sucks, or my RAM modules suck. -
Can SBS 2003 be splipstream with all updates?
prathapml replied to theCream's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
Yes, CD1 can have SP1 for SBS2003 integrated. The other CDs (exchange,SQL,ISA,etc) can also have updates either slip-streamed, or hotstream (updates installed after setup & considered as part of main app when removing/adding features) them. -
@Jito Please check out cluberti's post in detail. He is NOT saying that NOD32 is a memory hog on the whole. He is talking about KERNEL RESOURCE usage.... Thats a serious issue indeed, and if you remember, thats what brought down the stability of the win9x-series (they had very limited kernel resources & all apps ate it up constantly). I dont remember where I read it, but I'm convinced of what cluberti said above.

Edit txtsetup.sif So You Don't Need To Move Files Like WIN51
prathapml replied to lordmontie's topic in Multi-Boot CD/DVDs
Thanks lordmontie! Gonna use it. I'm a neat freak too, I guess For your cmdide.sys, I suspect its a file corruption. Are you sure you have the correct cmdide.sy_ file in both, the relevant I386 folder, & the BOOT folder as well? Is it missing in one of the 2 places? Have you checked in BOTH places, to see if its corrupted in any way? (rename to .CAB & try extracting) Do post back, I'd like to see if it was solved or not.... -
[HELP] How ti make a little pause
prathapml replied to ripley_jack's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
Use sleep.exe from the unattended guide site. Or an alternate solution (a bit more lengthy), then I'll post the ping method if you want. -
Thats a task well done!

Happy Birthday! May you have lots of fun & a day to remember.....

there was Windows. There was always Windows. But for comedic effect, the author chooses not to mention the long, heavy years spent using Microsoft Windows for School, University and Work. Now please continue reading, happily oblivious to this devious bit of artistic license. Read full article at madpenguin

You probably had Office 2k3, installed unattended. Some versions of SPs need the install source, some dont. You seem to have dl'ed the admin update version, get the normal one instead.
