  1. The first post doesn't reflect that yet!
  2. Yes, my man... Absolutely right. Hopefully more people will give you feedback on your site - so far, I seem to be the only one who did that.
  3. /me thinks you could try bartPE or ERD Commander 2003. Will allow you to copy away your NTFS files safely, using a GUI.

    SP2 Final

LOL, that statement ought to be patented by Valve Software (makers of Half-Life 2).Back on topic, SP2 final for Danish localisation will be released on September 8th. A post in this thread says so!
  5. Try each of the below in order of desperation: (if #1 don't help, use #2, then #3) 1. Try closing unnecessary programs in the system tray. 2. Close all open programs. 3. Use Task Manager in processes Tab to kill explorer.exe, and then click "New Task" and run "explorer" again. Hopefully, that should solve it. Otherwise, increase and set the upper/lower limits of your swap-file to be the same.
  6. Yes. All four hacks needed are there already, with full details.
  7. The 2 posts above neatly surmise the fact. Decision : Go with the Sun JVM. You'll not come to grief. If some apps work only with the MS-JVM, its their problem, just move to a different product which does work with open standards (Sun JVM is the pace-setter, and standards definer). One downside is, MS-JVM is faster than Sun's win32 implementation.
  8. Well, that tweak has nothing to do with me at all. Whatever you find on the site here is a collective effort of the entire community. Shows how powerful can groups of determined people be, towards achieving their goal together. Hehe..... If you thought the few reg-tweaks on here were good, just visit this thread, and you'll get amazed at the truck-load of tweaks which are just begging to be used from everywhere: Registry Tweaks...
  9. Yes, the method to be followed is exactly the same. For more details, see the thread here - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=80&t=23991 @WINXPSP2_FAN Thanx for this simple to understand guide. I'm sure many people would want to do this, and your mini-guide is a big help to them.
  10. Just a possible solution.... Try using nLite to make your winnt.sif (you'll have to read the already existing info there in that section). Or use setupmgr.exe in your CD's "SUPPORT\TOOLS\Deploy.cab" to make it. Its probable that you might have had errors creep in while making it by hand - we all do.
  11. This thread might help: How to make an Office 2003 5-in-1 CD
  12. Oh, its quite stable now - works perfectly (if you took the time to read the instructions). Office Install-source shrinker
  13. That value goes into winnt.sif in this section: Personally, I don't trust those driver-modded-for-high-performance sites. Although they may be good, I won't be convinced of something I regard as circumspect. Just FYI, many of you people have been having problems installing the ATi Control Panel - one of these sites (don't ask me, I don't remember which it was )offers a pre-hacked driver download which installs the CPL alongwith the driver (using the INF) - might be good for ATi unattenders.
  14. Nopes! Not me. Been on XPSP2 since 7 days, not hacked TCPIP.SYS, rebooted very few times, and run P2P apps a _lot_. And I only see lots of 4226 and 1007 - no 1006 *ANYWHERE* in the event log (all sections searched).
  15. Most of the features found in Plus! 98 are already built into WinXP - so maybe you should just forget about trying to run Plus! for 98 on XP..... Get Plus! for XP instead. The DME add-on (Digital Media Edition) for it adds WAAAAYYY more thingies than Plus! 98 ever can offer.
  16. Maybe the voice chat feature maintains a constant connection with the voice server? So there's continuous transfer of data to and from these 2.... If so, there's nothing you can do about it, except to disable voice chat when you're not really using it. @others- Do you think there's any possibility of SP2's firewall or max. TCP connections features interfering with MSN Messenger? Personally, I didn't think the issue described above had anything to do with those features.
  17. Maybe you need to bring down the console, and type that cheat at the main menu screen? (before starting any game-play)
  18. Hey there! Welcome onto MSFN forums. Sure you'll have an enjoyable time . (if you abide by the rules)
  19. Look back at her. Have a smile on. See what her next reaction after that is..... Just remember to have an excuse ready, to say when she asks you why/what? ("borrowing notes for subject so-and-so?", or "teach me this theory, I didn't understand?")
  20. Yes. Overwrite so that no previous files with the same name stays - we want to be sure that what is in the SFX is what goes into the install, with no variance. That way, you bring in the factor of constancy/reproducibility - and be able to fix errors. Anyway, that EXE isn't going to be used outside of a uA install, once you are done with testing it, right? Open opera, fiddle with the toolbars for a bit, and close it. See which one was modified most recently (file properties). Hoping this helps.....
  21. [Display] XResolution=1024 YResolution=768 BitsPerPel=16 VRefresh=60 AutoConfirm=1 ConfigureAtLogon=1Having that in winn.sif should help. You're welcome to post back about any further issues ("loose ends" ) you have.
  22. There's threads all over which describe how you can get the %CDROM% variable established. I'd suppose you could use that method, and do %CDROM%\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons from a batch-file run via GUIrunonce.
  23. That, and another one before that (was superseded by 826939). Anyway, junk all hotfixes/roll-ups, slip-stream SP2, hack ntoskrnl.exe - and you're back in business.
  24. Use crahak's tip: And my tip above. After using both, you won't need nearly that much complication (just the /QB switch would be enough).
  25. I can't believe you're saying such a thing. The win98 boot-disk is 1.2 MB, and that's all the memory you need to use (if on RAMdisk). So there's no way you don't have sufficient RAM (unless you have the Zilog-25). Or have I mis-understood what you said? Just make it use a bootable RAMdisk, or otherwise, edit the ebdboot.cab (or what was it?) which is actually what gets loaded as a RAMdisk into memory. Hoping this helps...
