  1. Well, gotta find SOME way around it. Its not MSI anymore, uses NSIS installer now - "/S" is the switch. And this is the only version of alcohol that supports Windows XP 64-bit edition.
  2. Yup, does work.Been doing that since 3 yrs! For my PC & for hundreds of machines every week... Just remember to pay attention to the other details i mentioned in that same post.
  3. Just copy this folder to every user & computer you want to: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Opera Of course, change the username & paths accordingly in opera6.ini after copying it somewhere (for example, your user profile folder itself might be located on some other path, or on 64-bit windows, "C:\Program Files" becomes "C:\Program Files (x86)"). Its easy to make a wholesale-change to all lines containing paths, open in notepad & then, Edit >> Find+Replace.
  4. Tools >> Prefs >> Advanced >> Shortcuts >> Keyboard. And set it to however you want, after which you could switch between opera default/customized & your firefox-like shortcuts. Incidentally, ctrl+enter & ctrl+shift works as you would expect, in the opera9 tp2 build, so your broken deal is back in the running!
  5. Plus, the "automatic" ones can get really irritating after some time.
  6. OPX home - https://oem.microsoft.com/script/ContentPag...x?pageid=557320 OPX download - https://oem.microsoft.com/downloads/worldwi...ld_0.0.1.62.zip
  7. Nero InCD
  8. Or you could try this too - http://officelive.microsoft.com/
  9. amazing!
  10. Update the version.Opera since v8 has been working well with single & multiple proxies. Is that all that worries you? You're aware you can configure it to disable ActiveX I hope? Best part being, you can use a 1 KB *.REG file to apply activex disabling to hundreds of machines within minutes, or you can configure the same thru group policy for entire domain.
  11. well, other than: 1. the fact that opera is visually the most customisable browser 2. Opera 9 TP2 almost passes the Acid2 test! (firefox & IE7 still render it like crap) 3. And Opera9tp2 brings in a whole lot of further enhancements, in addition to whats mentioned below!!!!! Here's pages full of msfn posts why opera is the BEST: 1 2 3 4 And finally:
  12. Too vague. Without the specifics, there's no way to suggest the exact solution.
  13. delete the key "Nico Mak Computing" from the registry in both, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE & HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software And then run the SFX (with .reg). Does it work now?
  14. Is the directory structure similar to the original SFX? Also, try it on a fresh setup, just to be sure that nothing from your current environment is affecting the proper operation of the installer.
  15. Havent you noticed that OfficeXP still gets updates & service packs, despite the fact that Office2003 is the newer release?
  16. What does "faith" have to do with it? Nero 7.0 is being updated & improved. Nero 6.6 continues to receive bugfixes. They are both supported parallely, & releasing updates for both, hardly reflects on the quality of the product.
  17. We need more details to help. What server-side app are you using to serve your site (IIS/Apache) ? What plugins installed (php/asp/mysql)? And what CMS (phpnuke/wordpress/custom-script) ?
  18. Use a better topic title next time. Rule #12 - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=18408
  19. You dont need to be sorry, all of us were newbies at one point of time. And I have no idea if there's a thread specially for newbies - I think just reading the MSFN official unattended guide would get you started along the path.
  20. No, torrent functions arent a RAM hog. Remember when 8.10 betas had torrent download ability? It added only 100 KB to the installed size, & the RAM usage was almost ZERO addition to the base usage of opera.
  21. updated.Re-download!
  22. No such limits. Just have to register once at the VMware homepage, for a trial license. After that, it runs good for 30-45 days.
  23. Here's the silent installer of latest WinZip (v 10.0, build 6685): http://www.msfn.org/staff/prathapml/WinZip10-uA.exe (3 MB) Just directly run the above installer to install it unattended (no switches needed). Then after install is over on the machine, go & edit this file: C:\Program Files\WinZip\wz10.regEnter in your registered winzip10 name & serial/code in the .REG file, & apply it, to register winzip. Thereafter, you can just use that modified wz10.reg whenever you re-install. If you like, you can modify the .REG in that package itself (its just a silent RAR SFX).
  24. Is it what it sounds like? An extension mechanism as in firefox? Probably might be good to stop the whining of firefox fans, but on the flip-side might introduce the same problems of firefox to opera as well (huge memory usage, CPU-hungry, etc).
