  1. Oh my...... OH MY GOD! Over kill! Going over the top! Ha ha ha.... yeah the heat generated by newer processors might one day indeed require this sort of thing, if they don't reduce heat dissipated!
  2. Just directly put the shortcuts to where you want them - if you want them on desktop then $OEM$\$Docs\All Users\DesktopIf you want in start menu, then $OEM$\$Docs\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\
  3. Yeah, they indeed are the favourites. Ricky Ponting is very good in thinking on-his-feet, so to say, and always does the right moves for the team. Now he's come a long way from the days when he was regarded to be a wayward youngster (his brawls and all). Come 25th and the champion will be decided, but we continue beyond that - let's see how many more among us are into cricket!
  4. Maybe one of the CAB files that install IE are damaged. Try re-downloading?
  5. You could check if there's enough free space available on your C:\ drive. Because, (for example) if you have 2 GB of RAM, then you need to have 2.5 GB of free space on the disk (plus the swap space). Also, there's random problems with hibernation on PCs with 1 GB or higher of RAM. If that is so in your case, then remove one or two modules of RAM (to have left only 512 MB in the system). Then test if your hibernation is getting enabled and working well. If it works fine with 512 MB (or lesser) memory, then you know that this is a known problem with large memory and nothing else.
  6. Hey, we have used other switches before, but not the "/O" switch. In the command NAVSetup.exe /O REBOOT=ReallySuppress /qbwhich is run to make it install silently, what is the function of the "/O" switch ?
  7. Well, there was a bit of excitement over gosh being a girl or not, but that thing was neither confirmed, nor denied (by himself/herself). Also, if by any chance you think the pic in gosh's home-page is a self-portrait, here's some info: Go figure!I have no way of checking if its true, but if one of you wants to google for her...
  8. Hmm.... Since you did not specify WHAT kind of editors, here's a personal list of preference: 1. Hex editor - WinHex 2. Text editor - NoteTab Plus 3. Win32 resources - Resource Hacker Your post above looks like you don't want to talk of document, image and web-page editors here. (so I'll not mention those)
  9. 1. Putting up an ad for own site on first-post is not polite. 2. The quotes below were on that page: This is a tech-forum. Please don't post links to unsavoury sites. If more people report this page, we'd have to close this thread out.
  10. Hi TechnoNRG, and welcome to MSFN forums. Yup, we can sure all be of help to one another.
  11. Was the CD scratched in any way? Did the ISO file creation happen properly? (some times, corruptions happen) To fix, fiddling a bit with power-saving settings, and the IDE-access (DMA,etc.) settings in the virtual machine's BIOS might help. Also, does the same error occur even on a real machine?
  12. Please see the Rules, #12. *topic title changed (was "Need Help")
  13. Yes, the batch-file is properly readable in notepad now. This tool is a good idea, now gonna test it out later today!
  14. Both are the "right one". You might have used some utility which modifies that file to add more files, at which time a second section was added. You can add files in any of the 2 sections of [Files]. In fact, you can create a third [Files] section too - even that one will be parsed during setup. But first, please clarify whether what you are asking is a "svcpack.inf Problem" (as your topic title says), or is it DOSNET.INF problem?
  15. Since this section of the forum is one that gets to deal with a whole lot of images, the attachment option seems to have been disabled here. For those who regularly use this section of the forum, and post screenshots and pics, here's a link to a site that offers free (image-only) hosting: http://photobucket.com/ Many of you might already know this and use it - posted here though, for the benefit of those who did not know of it yet.
  16. How it was done: 1. Customized WINNTBBU.DLL for changing the setup back-ground and text. 2. XPlode install method, with transparent background (so that the customized WINNTBBU is seen). So now you know what to search for!
  17. Well, you can modify the nero installer right there - to disable the extraction box showing, and also to cut down on size of package. The package is just an SFX RAR archive! See this thread for details - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=80&t=25433 So no drawbacks, both the above are fixed!
  18. You can use TweakUI to do so. Use the "change path of special folders" (or named something similar to that) feature in tweakui and re-boot. Also, you'd need to copy the contents of your existing "Documents and Settings" folder to the new location that you set.
  19. Ha ha ha...... OK, good that you busted those myths. yeah fourte3n, welcome to the forums, and a month late welcome at that!
  20. And also set BIOS settings to safe defaults!
  21. You can abandon "Remote Desktop", and use VNC instead for remote administration. It is more secure, since it allows encrypted transfering of data between the machines. VNC is free, and also 2 people can be concurrently logged-in.
  22. Yes, its quite possible - please read this page of the guide - http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/reference.htm And here's (an example of) what you need to have in winnt.sif to do what you wanted: [GuiUnattended] ProfilesDir="D:\Documents and Settings\"
  23. The real point that firefox fans will seek to make: Run firefox with 5 tabs open. Run IE with 5 windows open. And then see which of the two uses less memory resources. I'm not a firefox fan myself, just had to say how firefox is better when surfing tabbed.
  24. There's no difference between what you need to do to install the older driver versions unattended and the v5.10. And the info for nForce drivers is all over here - please search. The Audio Utility (NVmixer) is an install-shield application, for which you can use an ISS for silent setup (the official guide gives details on how to install an install-shield app).
  25. In XP/win2k Pro, you can use "gpedit.msc" to control those things. Just type "gpedit.msc" in the "Run" box to use it.
