  1. Known bug guys (in first post). Same happens here too, legit beta tester. Trying to identify what causes it...
  2. Vista 5308: How to disable user access protection ( UAP )- 1. While logged in with admin rights. 2. Press the key combo Win+R (the "Run command" box comes up). 3. Run "msconfig". 4. Go to the "Tools" tab. 5. Scroll down to "disable UAP", & click the "launch" button below. 6. It will execute a command & leave behind a CMD window, exit that, reboot Vista, and you're done!
  3. In the store-shelves, perhaps? Warez is a no-no here, so read the rules & be careful...
  4. Yup, its pretty much passed Acid2 since tp1.
  5. Haha, it is out.... & taken back in too. Looks like this is the version they want to release - ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/84.20/ Main difference is,
  6. If you want the cache, edit the setup.ini & add your MSI properties there.
  7. Its not in the PATH list. Thats partly been one of my irritants with win64 - try as much as I might (i mean programmatically, not manually), 32-bit executables are relegated to SysWOW64, & only 64-bit ones are allowed in System32.... Now I wonder, how intelligent it was of MS, to make a directory named System32 the native 64-bit folder. No prob for now, made a batch-file to put copypath.exe into %windir% and execute the .REG and reboot. It works as advertised.
  8. It does not "pause" straightaway, it calculates the MD5/CRC only when you select the tab (general/summary/Hash). And yes, on really large files, it does take a while.
  9. Thats great! I'll give it a test run today evening on XP & vista BTW, just a piece of info - on XP64 & Vista64, binaries which are 32-bit cant be placed into the System32 folder programmatically. (as in, I would use a batch file or installer to place the file & make registry entries, but it wont work, it'll get re-directed to the SysWOW64 directory instead). To avoid doing it manually, some other folder or some other method would be necessary... I'll try thinking of something meanwhile, but mentioned the above as it would be relevant on 64-bit OSes which are growing in usage.
  10. Hi beaker, this is definitely useful - for me atleast. And presumably, others on here too! I could host it too, if you'd like. * Topic moved to Software Hangout
  11. Whats the method & command you're using? BTW, thats right, dont give up, it took me 3 tries before I got o2k3 to install right!
  12. Dagonet, you could do wonders with a full-scale graphics card, instead of the current integrated one.
  13. OMG, wow! I wanted something like this since a long time! With thanks to DL, for informing me about it http://www.beeblebrox.org/hashtab/index.php
  14. Well, updated the guide, from SP1 to SP2.
  15. Why would you need to, when it can be downloaded directly?LINK - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&sho...ndpost&p=395906
  16. Its NOT pratham, its prathap. Yahoo! Photos cant store 3 GB of images & 56 GB of other documents created over the years. I'm backing up to DVD-RW in any case, just wanted to announce my problem & bring it to notice, so that nobody else needs to suffer what I was ABOUT to.
  17. It was ALMOST about to happen to me. The graphical partitioner of vista (during setup) has been a bother since the first alphas! I delete a partition, re-make & format it.... & the next I know, disk management shows my 20 gig partition as 600 GB & so on, for all my 8 partitions (and partition magic exits with a #701 error). As much as I'd like to see it true, I dont have 600 GB * 8 = 4800 GB. I finally backed up all data to another hard-disk & re-created my partitions, so no data-loss currently (touch wood!).
  18. I saw all the best memories of my life fading away from my hard-disk, when it messed with my partition table (during install).....
  19. ITS FREEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!! For god's sake, you want it, you use it.
  20. Ummm.... That doesn't matter.Just scroll down to post #11 in that page!
  21. Hi there! Did you try BartPE yet? You might prefer that more. But still, if WinPE is all you want, go to this topic - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=70&t=56488 and scroll down for download link. Do post back how it goes... Hoping this helps
  22. Yes you can make it universal. Here's what I do: I use a self-extracting RAR SFX, to pre-configure opera during/after installation. It just needs to be clicked, or executed thru a batch-file, to do its magic. You can add more things or modify it as per your needs. Download the RAR file below, & extract it to obtain the silent EXE. It will work under these conditions: 1. You have opera8 or higher (upto v9 TP2) installed. 2. You're running a 32-bit Windows OS, win2k or winXP. Link- http://www.eazyshare.com/user_uploads/Opera-conf.rar
  23. If it works, and it does not need a reboot, then YES, I'd love it!
