  1. Just so u know Sanjay... no-one reads the license agreement but it sez in there that FF and GBar are included. That's always the big companie's argument, read the EULA. But who DOES?
  2. Some big argument... BigDaddy's problem was solved, can this argument continue by PM w/BigDaddy and someone and a mod lock this topic? And BigDaddy, ok, u did a favour for ur dad's friend. But if u charged him, it's not a favour, it's technically business.

M$ Update can't use Firefox... only IE. Mebbe u meant windiz update?
  4. You have to edit it with ORCA. The internal parts of sym systemworks don't have a gui (e.g. nu.msi) so u have to edit it and use it w/switch /qn or /qb U can't create a transforms, u have to directly edit the msi.
  5. Windows Installer 3.1 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en Slipstream with nlite as hotfix
  6. Did u consider that not every exe is a sfx archive?
  7. Lol. Always google before asking in the forums Madhav.
  8. Well maybe u executed just shutdown.exe without any switches? Do u know what switches are? Any command line app will almost certainly close after opening it w/o switches.
  9. No ricktendo. Using nero directly saves u the hassle of 300mbs or so on ur hard disk. The boot.ima file used in nlite is the same as the boot.bin file on the root of the disc. They're not the same ut they serve the same purpose. And burning directly w/o making an iso (if ur sure and u know it'll work if u haven't tested it) is much quicker.

@LLXX that's not vista, that's just the vista theme! Vista basic has a grey window in beta 2.

    next nlite

  12. Inno setups and MSI's can use /NORESTART and /norestart respectively.
  13. Does it actually make a difference? All it is is that the pack itself is compressed as 7z, it has no impact on the extracted files themselves...
  14. Google. Some use windows installer msi. u can set the install dir in a transforms file. Wise InstallTailor. It's all in the switches...
  15. OEM keys can only be used w/OEM cds. And a dell reinstall disc was provided by ur manufacturer so it's OEM.

It will work @Mangix by slipstreaming Are u sure ur downloads aren't corrupt?
  17. Yep, realplayer is the culprit. As for the tool, u do know that a self-extracting exe archive is don't u? That should give clues lol
  18. Autoit is the only option. Make a script that executes setup.exe /S Then, do a winwaitactive for the hardware update wizard. And u won't find ANYTHING... EVER searching on google for "<appname> switches". Do u think that companies have the time for that?? And it's obvious. Didn't u even read the unattended guide? The part about identifying the installer and then using the links on the ua guide that tell u what switches it uses?
  19. Btw, u edited ur post after Camarade put "consummer". I wonder what u changed... And if it's a customer in a shop, then it's against nlite's license. If it's just a favour for a friend, then he's not exactly a customer is he??? Anyway, just copy AUTORUN.INF from ur original xpcd into the root of the source.
  20. Direct integration is when files are overwritten. e.g. the iexplore.ex_ in i386 is replaced by the one in iesetup (v7) after it's been makecabbed.
  21. Where did you read about the rootkit? On Daemon tools? If it did use a rootkit, yep, settings wouldn't be saved as it is hidden. But if it was written to the registry and not the process itself they wouldn't be read. But no-one would take the time to make a rootkit to store options, not even ms.
  22. Familiarize urself with ms-dos. Google it. Try and dual-boot with linux and then burn all the important files onto a CD-RW or something. I'd recommend the live installs such as Ubuntu as u can boot directly from the CD without having to install it to ur hdd.
  23. None of them do, don't bother looking. A silent install is the least of their worries.
  24. Seriously! Whew! The %PP% is there so u don't need to put in the %systemdrive%\Install ! When there is a command "SET xx=asdfgh" u can type anywhere in the batch %xx% instead of asdfgh as the batch will translate %xx% as asdfgh because of how xx was set as asdfgh. This is the correct code. REG ADD %KEY%\000 /V 1 /D "\"%PP%\Sav\setup\Symantec AntiVirus.msi\" /qn RUNLIVEUPDATE=0 REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS" /f As to 3) obviously because u edited it between saving it and exiting. And this forum requires a more detailed title than "Questions please help". (as so aptly put by Takeshi)
  25. Click enable and move the slider to the right so it's on unrestricted. Or simply click disable if it is enabled. Duh... btw u can't completely remove it.
