  1. nLite supports uxtheming if ur other PCs use nlited Windows XPs.
  2. No, updates don't. It's just lack of peace of mind. Updates save u hassle by patching exploits etc. If it's too bloaty for u, use a lighter updatepack like Xable's. http://udp.xable.net
  3. Nothing wrong w/the parts of last_session.ini that I could roughly translate. Not too good on Italian
  4. The XP Pro upgrade will install on a clean drive, even a new computer but you'll need to insert any other retail edition of windows.
  5. True... but M$'s documents say that's all u can do (yep, they have their own unattended guide but for businesses only. I'm not a business but I read it). So I put it down.
  6. I don't know how to use ORCA It was a suggestion. *cue for expert msi editor to come in* Or read microsoft's documentation.

    N- Lite 1.0

This has been asked before. Search. I can't remember off the top of my head the solution but it's something to do with winnt.sif not nlite.

    sp2 problems

Try running Xpress Recovery (if u have the disc).
  9. Maybe write-caching is enabled on one and not the other? http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=259716 Change the behaviour of PC #2 to #1 and see what happens.
  10. With every version number, the dll name changes. So how about cd %programfiles%\MSN Messenger FOR %%F IN (fsshext*.dll) DO REGSVR32 -s -u "%%F" Maybe run it at startup? I'm not too good at batch files so can someone check it?
  11. More info plz, like the folder structure you have etc. Just make sure there is at least 1 .theme file and one folder in windows\resources\themes
  12. More details would be nice, e.g. ur Last_Session.ini that nlite created.
  13. You mean so it doesn't ask u to insert ur home edition disc everytime to "prove u qualify for the upgrade product". There was a method w/editing a text file but it doesn't work, WGA marks it as pirate so I just put both my 98 and xp home upgrade into my 2 cd drives so it doesn't ask for it.
  14. Yep. It is for hotfixes and updatepacks but that doesn't mean that it can't integrate program cab files. ...listen to ricktendo.
  15. Download Windows update v6 here. http://www.nliteos.com/addons/#63 See what happens.
  16. Look at the name of the addons. e.g. hotbar was "signed" by microsoft (fake obviously) so IE allowed it. Disable anything unneccessary. Or try installing IE7b3 is u don't have it and then uninstalling it. All I can think of right now.
  17. I'd leave DEP on for the sake of ur antivirus apps, cos some complain about "important and critical system processes not running". What err codes are in eventlog (if it bothers u).
  18. Then SP2.cab on a pre-slipstreamed disc is an incremental update from the previously slipstreamed SP1.cab.
  19. Sorry, no idea then If everything fails, try looking at Windows XP Powerpacker's documentation to find out which files it hexedits.
  20. I grabbed the msi out of %temp% and I use a MST file.
  21. Q!. u do know what multiple select is? where u drag a box around all of the files and folders and click ctrl+c? And paste it onto the flash drive? And google "open .iso" to see all the files in the iso! It's pretty easy now! And someone on msfn made a free program called universal extractor that can extract from tons of archives, sfx's, msi's etc. Q2. Not all formats have to have a different file extension! UDF is a type of ISO. And obviously if ur source will be above 2gbs, nlite will make it w/udf iso!! Q3. U can't mod an iso directly, u have to extract it and mod it and recreate it. Most of ur questions can be answered on google.
  22. Double click D-Link Wireless G Desktop Adapter in device manager and click resources. Does it say "this device isn't using any resources as it has a problem"?
  23. The stuff on the unattended guide for $OEM$ are all u can do with it. e.g. if it says only $Docs $$ and $1, they are the only ones u can use.
  24. Firefox.exe -Silent -SetDefaultBrowser Thanks keytotime, now I remember where I heard it. Should work for thunderbird with something like thunderbird.exe -Silent -SetDefaultClient or something.
