  1. actually whoever made an avi in divx 700mb+ should've just gone with mpeg..
  2. Try this step by step guide : http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/join-split-avi.htm N.B: splitting something up is never a good idea thus the above guide should be fine, if you want a faster way try avichop but I do not recommend that program, it never worked for me but some it worked for some of my buddies. since you are at the subject of splitting dvds try another guide ;-) for more info (similar to aforementioned link) http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/cutavi.html
  3. I had to set aside my flat panel since it used dfp, and no card comes with that anymore. Only dvi and vga. Oh well I ended up getting me a new monitor. (Viewsonic g70m for like $190 shipped) Anyhow I mean if ur heart is really set out for a specific card, you can always get a dvi-vga connector. I rec that you just get a card that supports it, here is one I was looking at http://shop2.outpost.com/product/3137860/#detailed
  4. most serving scripts are a spin off polaris excursion/invision/ratscript etc... and they are actually much better than polaris
  5. as most people said, Linksys is pretty decent, and the latest firmware allow you to use zonealarm (firewall) and pc cillan (anti virus). It does a great job of protecting/routing , but I went thru hell to figure out a way to transfer files. [both my friend and I had the same router and it was really difficult for us to transfer files] [dynamic ip] anyhow we figured out some way.. and it's all good!
  6. !!!!BOO HOO!!!!!! one more day of torture and I'm done with finals!!!!!!!
  7. I know this is generic, but here is what I used to have and it worked for me. Now I just use my router and I'm connected asap. Setup DSL in XP: 1. Click the Start button. 2. Click on Control Panel. 3. Double click on Network Connections. 4. Click on the Create a new connection link on the left. 5. Click the Next button. 6. Choose Connect to the internet. 7. Click the Next button. 8. Choose Setup my connection manually. 9. Click the Next button. 10. Choose Connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password. 11. Click the Next button. 12. Type anything you want to name the connection in the ISP Name box (ex: epix.net, etc). 13. Click the Next button. 14. Type in your username in the User name box & type in your password in both the Password & Confirm Password boxes. 15. Check the two boxes at the bottom for 'Use this account name & password when anyone connects...' & 'Make this the default connection...' if you desire. 16. Click the Next button. 17. If you would like a shortcut to your DSL connection on your Windows desktop, place a check in the Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop box. 18. Click the Finish button. 19. Click the Connect button to connect to your DSL. Tell me how it goes, but LS_Dragons said, the best support for DSL is at dslreports.com
  8. I really like the look and feel of messenger, but sadly to say I don't know anyone using it :cry none of my friends use it ... Anyhow, thanks for the link.. nice looking program
  9. Sometimes I wonder ... Do poeple really read the posts? http://xp.modrica.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1107 referring to the aforementioned post!
  10. I checked the link, I don't think it works anymore. (maybe temp down) Anyhow try this: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isoreco...isorecorder.htm ISO recorder powertoy was basically a missing feature that the final version of powertoys should have had. I also liked the shellplayer but they removed it from the final powertoy version. a few other neat add-ons .. dvd pack, mp3 pack for wmp They are all leaked. I actually used a different codec for mp3 and made some registry tweaks. After all that trouble, I don't even use wmp anymore... oh well! Oh getting back to ISO recorder, umm.. don't bother. that's my own opinion.
  11. is it really worth it ? SR2 I'm considering buying the game for ps2

    01. Start OE 02. Click on Tools in the tab area 03. Select Accounts 04. It usually shows the Mail area, pick the name of the server(account you have) Example say you using Mindspring most probably it will be called Mindsrping Mail 05. Click Properties 06. Select the Advanced Tab 07. At the bottom you will notice something called delivery having a check box for Leave messages on server . Uncheck it I just restated what the others said in the simplest terms.. hope this helps...
  13. Have a look at MVP Jim Eshelman's web page at http://www.aumha.org/a/shtdwnxp.htm
  14. just to reinforce what Panda said about the tweak, well it was mentioned @ the ms website Here is the link: [b:90fd4f44d4]http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q282402[/b:90fd4f44d4] Lazy? well here is the bottom line: [i:90fd4f44d4]To comply with current Requests for Comments (RFC), Internet Explorer limits the number of simultaneous downloads to two downloads, plus one queued download. This configuration is a function of the browser. However, as connection speeds increase, and the number of total connections that are allowed to Internet servers increase, the two-connection limit may be restrictive. To increase the number of simultaneous connections that are allowed to 10, follow these steps: [/i:90fd4f44d4] 01. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe). 02. Locate the following key in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet Settings 03. On the Edit menu, click Add Value , and then add the following registry values: "MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=Dword:0000000a "MaxConnectionsPerServer"=Dword:0000000a 04. Quit Registry Editor.

    Games in XP?

XPerties you are a lucky person! numerous poeple including myself had difficulties running it on ntfs, whereas fat32 didn't give any problems, thus that group with me concluded that the format of the drive had to have something to do with it. (and formatting again was annoying) check the forums of bink's forum (windowsxp.nu) actually I think I saw AaronXP posting in that forum, are you the same one? if so, AaronXP might have read the numerous threads about gaming on ntfs ... and share his thoughts? in conclusion my comments were about my XPerience... as well as the results of others.... (who knows we could all just be unlucky

I'd rec trying to install winxp pro, odd that you are having trouble with pro and not home.... I'm assuming that maybe your copy is corupt ... try [i:6bd1a80d4a]getting[/i:6bd1a80d4a] another one
  22. nero is good, it came with one of my CD-RWs... at first try I ended up making CDs that only worked in Cd-RWs... for the longest of time was having some issues with nero .. then when xp came along.. I hated roxio's laziness of releasing an update thus became a greater fan of nero... but I must admit I prefer ezcd.... simple reason: it's pweety and does the job :blueteam Note: I totally agree with LS_Dragons... Adaptec took care of thier baby much better than roxio
