so I was browsing around and noticed a really cool tweak that www.xp-erience.org/ discovered.. the hacked uxtheme.dll basically allows us to use themes not digitally signed by MS which utilize the .msstyles format.. In other words we can select new themes on our computers... For example since you said you are using stylexp.. uninstall it and try to use one of themes you have, it won't work [unless ofcourse it messed up and left the modified .dll and forgot to remove it.. but that's another story] stylexp is a program that patches the uxtheme.dll in memory. The latest version of stylexp, adds some more functionally than just patching the file 1. adds a logon loader 2. adds a prettier screen to change themes than the defualt one we get with xp 3. patched the .dll file 4. more to come .. i guess ;-) the best stylexp version would probably be the latest one ..stylexp beta 6.1 but as you know .. stylexp is shareware. I personally just use the modified uxtheme.dll to accept themes

You may also have to edit the version number or build number, depending on how hard the program tries to verify that you are installing on the correct OS. I had to do this for my Mustek 600 CP scanner (compatibility mode didn't help!!!) and it worked great, so I now have my scanner working with XP (and a tech at Mustek can now eat his words). //Here's a great tip to speed up your browsing of Windows 2000 & XP machines. Its actually a fix to a bug installed as default in Windows 2000 that scans shared files for Scheduled Tasks. And it turns out that you can experience a delay as long as 30 seconds when you try to view shared files across a network because Windows 2000 is using the extra time to search the remote computer for any Scheduled Tasks. I just found some icons on my comp and made the ie toolbar icon... This is mainly for xper and FthrJack to check out and see what i was talking about....

not really.. but I really appreciate your effort. here is what I have in mind: an icon that can fit in the quicklaunch area and be representative of MSFN. I could pick one of the icons I've collected, but i was thinking it would be nice to have sort of an official icon....

I have the latest version... That really is annoying... I don't know how poeple use msn, it's terrible, hopefully the new update will fix this ...... Although I mainly use AIM, it isn't as "pweety" looking as msn..oh well, I'm sure it will eventually become so... they really need to give us some new interface... I mean they do own the top 2 IMs in the world.. aim & icq !
